Abstract

Urbanization and fragmentation are the main factors causing dynamics in the pekarangan. The dynamics that occur are related to the structure and function of the pekarangan. This makes the pekarangan performance changes according to the interference of the pekarangan owner. Selahuni 2 Homlet, Ciomas Rahayu Village, Bogor has become the location for observing the dynamics of the past two decades. Pekarangan samples taken in 2019 are exactly the same as those taken in 1998 and 2007, totaling 10 houses. The aim is to determine the extent of changes that occur in the pekarangan, both structure and function. Measuring the area, ownership of the pekarangan, recording of species and function of the existing vegetation of the pekarangan. In 2019, data on ownership of houses and pekarangans by old owners dropped dramatically by only 40%. In 2019, the average pekarangan area will decrease by an average area of 110.81 m2. In 1998, 2007 and 2019, the percentage of the number of non-ornamental plant species was 4-10% higher than that of ornamental plants. Therefore, there was a change in both the extent and ownership, function and structure of the vegetation in the Selahuni 2 Homlet’s pekarangan which was caused by urbanization and fragmentation factors.

Abstract

Pekarangan as one of the potential natural resources and closest to the family can be the right and strategic choice to be used in realizing family-scale food resiliency. The research was conducted in Transmigration area of East Lampung from June 2021 to December 2021. The determination of the pekarangan sample by purposive sampling was carried out on four transmigration ethnics, i.e., the Javanese (100 samples), the Sundanese (100 samples), the Balinese (100 samples) , and the Madurese (13 population), as well as local transmigration, i.e., the Lampungnese (100 samples). Pekarangan model is determined from species diversities on agroforestry system and its plant multistorey condition. The results of identification found three agroforestry systems as a pekarangan model, i.e., the agroforest system (Maduranese pekarangan), agrosilvopastoral (Balinese, Javanese, and Lampungnese pekarangans), and agrosilvopastoralfishery (Sundanese pekarangan). Each agroforestry system contributed to food sources by 54.54% (agroforest), 46.15% to 65.51% (agrosilvopastoral), and 89.28% (agrosilvopastoralfishery).

Abstract

The transmigration home garden was one of the potential providers of landscape services, such as ecological, economic, social and cultural services. These landscape services can improve people's welfare. The Balinese transmigrant home garden in East Lampung became the research location to see the services of the home garden landscape. Ecological approaches, economic analysis, and socio-culture analysis were carried out to determine the role of the home garden in providing  landscape services. The Balinese transmigrant home garden pattern was built based on the Rwa Bhineda concept which regulates the layout of the building. The composition of pekarangan plants was analyzed using the vertical diversity, horizontal diversity, and Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) values of the plants. In addition, it also analyzed economic services in the form of additional income and reduced costs for consumption. The results showed that several plants such as coconut, mango, banana, and flower ornamental plants had high SDR value up to 45%. These plants are used as a component of religious rites for the Balinese transmigrant community. Home garden also provided economic services, namely additional income and reduced consumption costs up to 100% per month/family. Home garden landscape services for Balinese transmigrants were proof that community welfare can be realized through sustainable use of home gardens and had implications for the achievement of transmigration goals.

Abstract

Green open space is an elongated area or polygon whose use is carried out openly and is used as a place for plants to grow, both naturally and deliberately planted, and has important functions, one of which is an ecological function. Population growth causes land conversion and environmental quality to decline, thus having a negative impact on the availability of green open space in an urban environment. Betung Bay is one of the sub-districts in Bandarlampung, an area with quite high population density and growth, so it is necessary to optimize the quality of existing green open spaces to provide benefits to the environment. This research aims to evaluate the level of thermal comfort when viewed from its ecological function and microclimate, so that recommendations for plant arrangement can be made based on the results of this evaluation. The research methods used are quantitative and qualitative with inventory stages, analysis using the Key Performance Index (KPI); Thermal Humidity Index (THI), and synthesis in the form of recommendations. Based on the results of the KPI analysis, the plants in Dipangga Park are good in terms of temperature modification with a percentage of 38% and have the lowest temperature, while the plants in Reflection Park are good in controlling humidity with a percentage of 53% and have ideal low humidity. The results of the THI analysis show that the three RTHs are included in the uncomfortable category. The recommendation from the evaluation results is to arrange vegetation by paying attention to standardization and considering the preferences of respondents.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fourth globally in bird species diversity. The Sumatera Institute of Technology (ITERA) Campus, with its diverse vegetation, supports at least 28 avian species, including the black-winged kite (E.caeruleus), a protected diurnal bird of prey. This species is protected in Indonesia and listed as Appendix II under CITES. One prominent area for these birds is the ITERA Botanical Garden, which has potential as a suitable habitat. This study aims to (1) analyze habitat suitability for the black-winged kite and (2) propose a landscape plan to support the species conservation in the ITERA Botanical Garden. Using mixed methods and a modified Gold landscape planning framework which includes inventory, landscape analysis, and synthesis, the research identifies the garden as a critical feeding and roaming area for the species. Results show that the ITERA Botanical Garden provides essential feeding and roaming areas for black-winged kites. The proposed concept, "JEJAKENUI: Exploring the Black-winged Kite Path," enhances connectivity among landscape elements through three zones: feeding habitat, roaming zone 1, and roaming zone 2. The findings emphasize the garden's role in conserving biodiversity while balancing visitor activities.

Abstract

Bandar Lampung is one of the major cities on the island of Sumatra that seeks to fulfill the availability of Green Open Space (GOS). Based on 2024 statistical data, Bandar Lampung only has 601.08 ha of GOS (3.05% of the total city area), so Bandar Lampung still needs 26.95% of GOS target to fulfill the 30% GOS target as mandated by Law No. 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning. The innovative paradigm of GOS has been adapted by the Regulation of the Minister of ATR / BPN Number 14 of 2022 concerning the Provision and Utilization of Green Open Space, that GOS does not only consist of green space but also non-green open space (NGOS) and blue open space (BOS) through GOS typology and fulfillment of quantity and quality through the Indonesia Green-Blue Index (IGBI). The purpose of this research is to evaluate the green space of Bandar Lampung City using IGBI to maximize the available urban space in fulfilling the availability of quantity and quality of green space. This research went through three main stages, i.e., (1) qualitative data collection of related regulations and policies; (2) spatial analysis of the city's Regional Spatial Plan map; and (3) synthesis in the form of GOS typology classification then calculating the quantity and quality of GOS using IGBI. Based on the results of the analysis of the spatial pattern plan map of the Bandar Lampung City Spatial Plan 2021-2041, it is known that there are four main typologies of green spaces in Bandar Lampung. The results of the calculation of the quantity and quality of GOS with IGBI obtained the area of GOS in the spatial pattern plan is equivalent to 8,400.13 m2 or equivalent to 46% of the entire area of Bandar Lampung. Improving the quality of GOS to suit its typology can be done by fulfilling the minimum area of green cover, completeness of vegetation stratification, recommended non-green cover, BOS, and several facilities as required by its typology.
