Abstract

The current era of society 5.0 is a challenge in itself with the development of digitalization issues that impact all aspects of life. Society is so spoiled by media and technology. However, there are positive and negative impacts in today's rapid technological advances such as hoax news, cyber bullying and body shaming. The purpose of this community service activity is to mitigate negative impacts and provide an understanding of how to use the internet in a good and healthy way through digital literacy. The methods used are lectures, question and answer and use the pretest as a measuring tool. The results of this study are that the millennial generation is very familiar with using current applications, but they don't care about their own security in cyberspace. In addition, they also do not know their privacy rights when surfing the internet and there are still many who cannot use social media wisely. Hopefully it is hoped that the digital literacy training from this community service program will have a significant impact on the importance of maintaining data privacy and how to wisely use social media.

The research instrument is in the form of a soft skill questionnaire that has been tested forvalidity and reliability. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 26. The resultsshowed that there was a significant difference between students' soft skill scores before and after participating inpublic speaking training. The average student soft skill score increased from 68.45 during the pretest to 82.17during the posttest. The results of the t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means thatpublic speaking training has a significant effect on improving students' soft skills. Abstract

The Indonesian fashion industry is very vulnerable to the fast fashion problem because it follows endless trends. Despite increasing awareness of environmental impacts, the rise of fast fashion, characterized by cheap production, high consumption, and short clothing lifespans, has led to an increase in the amount of clothing thrown away. Rapidly changing trends and excessive consumption have significant environmental impacts. In the fast fashion industry, the concept of ready-to-wear emerged because trends changed so quickly. Through social media platforms, they can see various latest clothing styles, well-known clothing brands, and popular clothing ideas. Apart from the influence of social media, they can also easily get it from e-commerce. Social media such as TikTok and Instagram are often places where fashion trends spread. Many people easily observe the fashion trends that many people wear, so they feel they have to follow the latest trends to be considered modern. As a result, they are willing to spend money to look fashionable. The fast fashion phenomenon itself causes clothing production levels to become very high and models change every season. Every time fashion trends change, all stores and consumers in the fashion industry also change their fashion collections, resulting in textile waste and damaging the environment. One of the textile wastes produced by the fashion industry is polyester. This shows that dependence on polyester makes the fashion industry one of the highest polluters in the world, due to emissions from production processes and non- biodegradable waste. This research focuses on how the influence of social media as communication media about fast fashion helps students understand fast fashion on the environment. This research method uses quantitative research methods. A total of 100 respondents used data collection techniques using a questionnaire survey by distributing questionnaires to be filled out by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Nalanda students. The results of this research show that exposure to social media influence a person's clothing style and fast fashion trends can harm the environment.

Abstract

Election integrity is a key element in ensuring democratic legitimacy, yet election fraud remains a significant threat to this process. This research aims to evaluate the use of Bayesian statistics in detecting anomalies in vote distributions that may indicate potential election fraud. In the context of elections, whose reliability is often questioned, statistical analysis becomes crucial to ensure transparency and credibility in election results. This study uses national election data collected from various polling stations (TPS), focusing on vote distribution per candidate in each TPS. A Bayesian probabilistic model is applied to analyze the observed vote distribution compared to the expected distribution. By using Bayesian inference, researchers can update the probability distribution based on the obtained data, allowing for more accurate anomaly identification. The analysis results show significant deviations in several TPS, where the observed vote distribution exhibits patterns inconsistent with the expected distribution. These anomalies are suspicious as they may indicate manipulation or errors in the vote counting process. The implications of this research suggest that the Bayesian method can be used to improve election transparency and provide a more reliable tool for detecting fraud. The future application of this technique can help increase public trust in election results and support the integrity of the democratic process. This study also recommends further development of the analytical model to expand the scope of anomaly detection and enhance fraud detection accuracy in larger and more complex elections.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media exposure on political participation among Generation Z Buddhists in Indonesia during the 2024 elections. Elections serve as a democratic mechanism allowing the populace to make decisions through majority votes. Social media has become a primary tool for political campaigns, especially targeting Generation Z, who are more active on digital platforms than traditional media. This research employs a quantitative method by surveying 400 respondents aged 17–26 using purposive sampling. The independent variable is social media exposure, measured through dimensions such as type, frequency, and duration of media use, while the dependent variable is political participation, both offline and online. Linear regression analysis shows that social media exposure significantly influences political participation (t = 2.779; sig. = 0.006 < 0.05). Instagram and TikTok are the dominant platforms, with peak usage occurring between 7:01 PM and midnight. Offline participation primarily involves discussing political issues, while online participation focuses on consuming political information. The findings reveal that social media exposure accounts for 19% of the variance in political participation, supporting the Stimulus-Response theory. This research underscores the importance of social media in enhancing political awareness among Generation Z and recommends future studies explore additional variables such as psychological and social needs and political knowledge.
