Abstract

This education research aims to investigate the difference learning outcomes of the students taught using cooperative learning model NHT type and conventional type on physics subject of SMP Negeri 2 Poso, find out the different result of students with high beginning ability and those have low ability on physics, and find out whether any or not interaction of learning model and beginning ability of the students learning outcomes on physics. The Population was 130 students of the eighth grade. The research sample consisting of class VIIIA and VIIIB. Design used was factorial 2 x 2. The data were collected through thinking ability and learning achievement test. The data were analyzed by using ANOVA two ways. The result indicates that there was difference of learning outcomes of students taught cooperative learning NHT type from those taught conventional method (p-value < 0,05), different learning outcomes of the students with high beginning ability and those with low beginning ability (p-value < 0,05), no interaction between learning model and beginning ability toward the students learning outcomes (p-value > 0,05) that means the students with high beginning ability will be better their learning outcomes than those with low beginning ability of cooperative learning model NHT type or conventional learning

Abstract

The objectives of the research are 1) to test the significant difference creative thinking between the students who were taught by using Mind Map Method and they who were taught by using Conventional Method on object change around us; and 2) to test the significant difference of communication ability of the students who were taught by using mind map method and those who were taught by using conventional method on object change around us. The design of the research is Quasi Experimental research design in which it employs purposive sampling design. The sample of the study is the grade VII C consisting of 32 students and the grade VII D consisting of 33 students of the 2014/2015 academic year. The data were collected by using observation check-list and test. The researcher analyzes data by using SPSS program. The result of the study indicates that the score t count> t table (3,50 > 1,998) and sig = 0,001 (0,001 < 0,05); it is found that there is the difference of thinking ability between the students who were taught by using creative thinking skill method and conventional method. Meanwhile, it is found that the result of the posttest on students’ communication skill so t count> t table (3,14 > 1,998) and sig = 0,003 (0,003 < 0,05). It is indicates that there is the difference in communication ability between the students who were taught by using mind map method and the students who were taught by using conventional method. Based on the result of study, it is stated that there is an effect of mind map method toward students’ creative thinking skill and students’ physics communication ability at grade VII student at SMP Negeri 1 Biromaru.

Abstract

The present research is an experimental research studies about the effect of presenting sequenced learning material on the concept of vector through fragmented and connected learning model. The subject of the research consists of 30 students of grade XA who were treated with fragmented model and 30 students of grade XB who were treated with connected model. The data of the two groups of subject were analyzed by using t-test with 5% real level. The result of the experiment indicates that thitung (4,02) is out of acceptance area (2,66). The result indicates that there is the difference result of the students’ learning on concept of vector between those who taught by using fragmented and connected model. Quantitatively, the average score of the students who were treated by using fragmented model is 73, 56 and those who were treated by using connected model is 61,78, it then can be inferred that the fragmented learning model is more effective than connected model use to present the lesson.

Abstract

The research aims at developing Natural Science Subject Instructional packages of year XI Semester 1 SMK Negeri 5 Palu by employing Dick, Carey & Carey Model. The research employed Research Development (R&D) design. The instructional package drafts that have been previously developed were validated by a content expert, a design expert, and a media expert. The revised version of the packages were tried out into three different subjects; individual, small group, and big group which contained 25 students and 1 teacher. Questionnaire designed in Likert Scale was used as the instrument of data collection. Suggestion, input and comment during consultation period were also noted and used to compliment the collected data from the questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that 1) the instructional materials product score ranges from 81.33% to 83.80% indicating that the instructional material is classified Good and Very Good, 2) the teacher’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 91.25% indicating that the teacher’s book is classified Good and Very Good, 3) the student’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 94.67% indicating that the student’s book is classified Good and Very Good. Based on Kuswadi’s argument (in Sudarman, 2006) if the developed instructional packages scored higher than 71%, the products are ready and valid to be used. The achievement of the students, between the pretest and the posttest, during the instructional materials try out is different significantly calculated by applying t-test formula. It implies that the instructional packages have been valid and ready to be used.

Abstract

The study was classroom action research aimed to improve motivation and students learning outcomes in environment theme by implementing CTL. The research carried out at SDN 2 Talise with 22 students in academic year 2013-2014. The research consist of two cycles. Each cycles is supported by planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the student absorbing and classical learning completeness realized increasing from cycle I to cycle II. Teacher and student activities increasing where the teacher ativity in cycle I was in sound categoy in cycle II in good category,where as student’s activity in cycle I was in sufficient category but in cycle II was in good category. All the result can be concluded that the application of contextual learning can improve the outcome learning.
