Abstract

This study aims to analyze N, P, K, and pH contained in liquid organic fertilizer from goroho banana peel waste (Musa acuminafe L.) in Pulisan Village North Minahasa Regency. This study was conducted from September to November 2025 in Pulisan Village and the Manado Center for Standardization and Industrial Services. The method used was a descriptive method with fermentation for 13 days using two different concentrations of EM4 (Effective Microorganisms), namely 130 ml and 195 ml, each mixed with 500 g of goroho banana peel and 25 ml of stale rice MOL. The parameters observed included N, P, K, and pH content. The analysis results showed the N, P, K, and pH content in the liquid organic fertilizer from goroho banana peel waste (Musa acuminafe L.) in Pulisan Village North Minahasa Regency, at an EM4 concentration of 130 ml, obtained an N content of 0.08%; P <0.01%; K 0.39%; and pH 4.00. Meanwhile, at an EM4 concentration of 195 ml, the content was N 0.13%; P 0.01%; K 0.31%; and pH 3.94. Keywords: banana, goroho, liquid organic fertilizer, peel, waste

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the nutrient content and pH level of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) derived from ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.) leaf waste in Pulisan Village, East Likupang District. This descriptive study compared the use of dried ketapang leaves (DKK) and fresh ketapang leaves (DKB), fermented for 14 days using a combination of the EM4 bioactivator and a local microorganism (MOL) derived from spoiled rice. Laboratory analysis at BSPJI Manado revealed that both treatments yielded an identical nitrogen (N) content of 0.10%. However, the DKK-based POC exhibited higher potassium (K) content (0.36%) and a more acidic pH (3.51) compared to the DKB-based POC (K: 0.18%; pH: 4.38). Conversely, the phosphorus (P) content in the DKB-based POC (0.03%) was higher than that in the DKK-based POC (<0.01%). Physically, the fermentation process altered the solution's color from brick red to black for DKK and to dark brown for DKB. Although the NPK nutrient levels remain below quality standards, this POC still holds potential for sustainably enhancing soil fertility. Keywords: combination, ketapang, leaf, liquid organic fertilizer, spoiled rice

Abstract

Spinach is a type of leafy vegetable that has high nutritional value and is widely consumed by the community as a source of important nutrients for the body. In general, spinach is known for its protein, vitamins A and C, and B vitamins, and also contains mineral salts such as calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and iron (Fe). Batik spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is a plant that belongs to the Amaranthaceae family and originates from North Amerika. PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) are a group of beneficial bacteria that live in the root zone (rhizosphere) and play an important role in enhancing plant growth and productivity. This study aimed to determine the effect of PGPR application on the growth and yield of batik spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and to find optimal concentration of PGPR. The study wa conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, in June to July 2025, using a completely randomaized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications (20 plants). The treatments were plant height, number o leaves, fresh weight, and root weight. The results showed that PGPR treatment affected the growth of batik spinach, with the optimal concentration being 35 ml/L of water. Keywords: batik spinach, growth, nutritional value, plant growth promoting rhizobacteria, yield

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the physical and chemical properties of compost produced from a mixture of dry leaves and vegetable waste through fermentation of Local Microorganisms (MOL) from goroho banana stems. The study was conducted in October–December 2025 with two main treatments, namely the addition of 30 ml, 60 ml, and 90 ml of MOL to a mixture of 1 kg of dry leaves and 2 kg of vegetable waste, the compost analyzed was a compost that had a faster composting time with a crumbly texture and a blackish brown color. The parameters observed included composting time, texture, color, and the content of macronutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). The research data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics, the test results are presented in tabular form. The results showed that the 90 ml MOL treatment produced the fastest composting time, which was 25 days, while the 60 ml treatment required 30 days. Both treatments produced compost with a crumbly texture and a blackish brown color, indicating that the compost was mature. The nutrient content of the compost in the 60 ml MOL treatment was N 0.49%, P 0.06%, and K 0.54%, while in the 90 ml MOL treatment it was N 0.42%, P 0.03%, and K 0.55%. Keywords: compost, dry leaf, fermentation, vegetable, waste
