Abstract

The problem of this research is the low social studies learning outcomes of students in class V at SDN 15 Bungku due to the lack of teacher creativity in implementing learning. Teachers only rely on conventional methods by means of lectures, even though there are many methods that can be used to motivate students to learn so that their learning outcomes increase. One method that can be used is script type cooperative learning. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using the script type cooperative learning method on students' social studies learning outcomes. Method (quasi experiment) with a nonequivalent control group design research design. Class V sample with a total of 33 students. Consisting of 17 people in the experimental group and 16 people in the control group. With a sample collection technique, namely purposive sampling. Observation data collection techniques as well as pretest and posttest. Data analysis techniques use the t test. Based on the results of the T-test calculations, it was concluded that there was a significant influence of the use of the Script Type Cooperative Learning model on the social studies learning outcomes of class V students at SDN 15 Bungku.

Abstract

Social studies subjects are integrated learning from history, geography and economics subjects as well as other science subjects so that the content is very large and the subject matter is very large and quite heavy. Thus, a learning model is needed that can motivate students in learning, especially social studies learning. This research aims to see the results of implementing the index card match type cooperative model in social studies learning in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach and the type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class 5 at SDN 2 Bahonsuai, consisting of 22 students. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data collection was carried out using observation, test and documentation techniques. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of the first cycle of learning show that teacher activities are in the good category (B), student activities and learning outcomes are in the sufficient category (C). The learning results of cycle II show that teacher activities, student activities and learning outcomes are in the good category (B) so it can be concluded that the application of the index card match type cooperative learning model can improve the process and student learning outcomes in social studies content in class 5 of SDN 2 Bahonsuai.

Abstract

This research is motivated by conventional learning methods in the form of lectures which only involve the right hemisphere of the brain. Thus, teachers need to use other learning methods or models in the learning process so that they are expected to be able to involve both hemispheres of the brain in the hope that students can remember information much more easily and learning becomes more active and enjoyable. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes by using mind mapping in social studies learning. This research is classified as qualitative descriptive research, namely explaining how the mind mapping method is implemented in learning social studies for class V students at Bungku 13 State Elementary School. The results of this research explain that the mind mapping method was carried out in 2 stages, namely; planning, implementation. The application of this mind mapping method is able to involve two functions of the human brain in the learning process, namely the right brain and left brain, so it is hoped that it can improve student learning outcomes in social studies learning.
