Abstract

Mangrove forests on the coast are expected to maintain coastal stability. Mangrove trees can preserve coastal ecosystems, where it is known that one of the functions of mangroves is that they are a place for flora and fauna to live. Apart from that, mangroves also have the function of maintaining water and air quality and also function to maintain climate and weather. The role of mangroves in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem is so important, so it is appropriate for students of the agricultural faculty of the Agrotechnology study program to take an active role in preserving mangrove forests. It is hoped that in the future this will continue for other coastal areas in the North Sumatra region to maintain the stability of the coastal ecosystem

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata) in response to the application of Cricket Manure and Organic ZPT, as well as the interaction between these two factors. There were two factors and three replications in this randomized factorial block design experiment: the first component, provision of cricket droppings (J), had 4 levels, namely J0 = no treatment (control), J1 = 1.5 kg/plot, J2 = 3 kg/plot and J3 = 4.5 kg/plot. The second factor of giving organic ZPT (Z) consisted of 3 levels, namely Z0 = no treatment (control), Z1 = 3 cc/liter of water/plot, and Z2 = 6 cc/liter of water/plot. Plant height (cm), cob husk length (cm), and cob weight (g) were measured in each plot. The application of cricket dung greatly changed the parameter of cob weight per plot, significantly affected the parameter of cob length, and had no significant effect on the parameter of plant height. The administration of organic ZPT had no discernible impact on any of the measured variables, and neither did the addition of cricket poop.

Abstract

Cattle Manure and Rotten Fruit Liquid Organic Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Green Beans (Vigna radiata L.) The aim of the study was to determine the application of cow manure and rotten fruit liquid organic fertilizer and their interactions on the growth and production of green beans (Vigna radiata L) ”. The research was conducted in Kedai Damar Village, Tebing Tinggi District, Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatra Province. Held in December 2022 s.d. April 2023. This study used Factorial RAK with 2 factors studied with 3 repetitions. The first factor was cow manure (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely K0 = no treatment (control), K1 = 4 kg per plot, K2 = 8 kg per Plot, K3 = 12 kg per Plot. The second factor was rotten fruit liquid fertilizer (C), which consisted of 4 levels, namely C0 = no treatment (control), C1 = 25 ml liter-1 of water, C2 = 50 ml liter-1 of water, C3 = 75 ml liter-1 of water. The results showed that the application of cow manure had a very significant effect on the parameters of the number of pods per sample, the number of pods per plot, the weight of 100 seeds per sample and the weight of 100 seeds per plot. The application of rotten fruit liquid organic fertilizer had a significant effect on the weight parameter of 100 seeds per sample. While the interaction has a very significant effect on the weight parameter of 100 seeds per sample and has a significant effect on the number of leaves parameter

Abstract

Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) in Indonesia are the most important agricultural commodity after soybeans which have a strategic role in national food as a source of protein and vegetable oil. Quail droppings are a type of hot fertilizer, decompose quickly so they are directly absorbed by plants because they contain macro nutrients (Ca, P, N, K, and CI) and micro nutrients (Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, and Mo) required by plants (Kusuma, 2012). Pineapple peel waste can also be used as organic fertilizer in solid or liquid form, test results show that the POC of Pineapple Peel Waste is P (23.63 ppm), K (08.25 ppm), N (01.27 ppm), Ca (27.55 ppm ), Mg (137.25 ppm), Zn (0.53 ppm) and Organic C (3.10%). This research aims to determine the application of quail manure compost and pineapple peel waste to the growth and production of peanut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.). This research was carried out in Pematang Setrak Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province, from June to August 2023, this research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design with 2 factors studied and 3 replications where the first factor was quail manure (P) which consisted of 4 levels, namely P0 (without treatment), P1 ( 1 kg per plot), P2 (2 kg per plot), P3 (3 kg per plot). The second factor is the POC of pineapple peel waste (N) which consists of 3 levels, namely N0 (without treatment), N1 (35 ml liter-1 of water), N2 (70 ml liter-1 of water). The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of filled pods per sample plant (pods), pod weight per sample plant (g), pod weight per plot and seed weight per 100 sample seeds. The results of the research showed that the application of quail manure compost had a very significant effect on the parameters of the number of filled pods per sample plant, pod weight per sample plant, pod weight per plot and seed weight per 100 sample seeds, but had no significant effect on the plant height parameter. Providing POC from pineapple peel waste had a very significant effect on the parameters of the number of pods contained per sample plant, pod weight per sample plant, pod weight per plot and seed weight per 100 sample seeds. The interaction between giving quail manure compost and pineapple peel waste POC had a very significant effect on the parameters of number of filled pods per sample plant, pod weight per sample plant and pod weight per plot, but had an insignificant effect on the parameters of plant height and seed weight per 100 sample seeds. .

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a leading plantation crop that is the largest contributor to foreign exchange in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer, dolomite and rainfall on oil palm production in West Rengat Plantation, Riau. This research was conducted from June to August 2023. The research was conducted using the survey method. First determine the research location or land to be studied, then look for data on land area, after that determine the block that will be used as sampling. After the production data, fertilization data and rainfall data were obtained, the data were then processed using simple and multiple regression methods, so that the relationship between production and fertilization and rainfall was illustrated. The results showed that the application of dolomite fertilizer was positively correlated not significantly on the parameters of the number of bunches per hectare, number of bunches per staple, weight per hectare, and weight per length, the application of NPK fertilizer was positively correlated not significantly on the parameters of the number of bunches per hectare, number of bunches per hectare, weight per hectare, and weight per length, rainfall had a significant negative correlation on the parameters of number of bunches per hectare, number of bunches per hectare, weight per hectare, weight per length, while the interaction of dolomite fertilizer, NPK, and rainfall had a significant effect on weight per length. However, the effect of dolomite fertilizer, NPK, and rainfall was not significant on the number of bunches per hectare, number of bunches per stem, and bunch weight per hectare.
