Abstract

Abstract: People with disabilities find it difficult to live independently and work like the general public. The lack of public service facilities, especially libraries, has not been able to provide easy access to literacy resources. The presence of literacy inclusion in library services is an effort to create a library environment that is friendly to people with disabilities. The purpose of this study is to find out how literacy inclusion can be a foundation for libraries to meet the needs of people with disabilities and develop services that are in accordance with the principles of inclusion. The research method uses narrative literature review. The results of this study underscore the complexity of literacy inclusion in the library context and view it as a concept that involves not only technical and service aspects, but also community engagement, identity formation, inclusive pedagogy, and advocacy.

Abstract

The rapid development of AI technology makes AI literacy crucial in providing individuals with an understanding of the essential functions of AI and its ethical application in higher education. This study used a scoping literature review method by searching the Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, and Sage Journals databases. Based on the search results, the eligibility criteria data were analyzed. Authors found as many as 153 pieces of literature, and eleven were declared to meet the eligibility criteria for the literature reviewed in this study. This study shows that AI literacy is essential in higher education. Educators and higher education institutions are responsible for providing programs that support the development of AI literacy skills in students. The application of AI literacy for students in higher education is essential in dealing with the development of AI technology. However, the lack of studies that address the evaluation of the importance of AI literacy and its implications limits the in-depth understanding of this topic.

Abstract

Introduction. School libraries serve as educational resources; nevertheless, the collection development process is commonly ignored or executed improperly. The objective of the study is to examine the Gempita Pustaka Library’s collection development process and strategic position by implementing Evans & Saponaro collection development method and SWOT analysis. Research method. The study was performed through descriptive qualitative method, incorporating observations and conducting interviews in collecting data. Data analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the collection development process by Evans and Saponaro, while SWOT analysis was applied to identify internal analysis (strengths and vulnerabilities). Subsequently, an external analysis was conducted to investigate opportunities and threats, to identify strategic areas of focus. Results and Discussion. Evans and Saponaro outline six essential phases for collection development. However, the collection development process at the Gempita Pustaka Library demonstrates certain weaknesses, particularly due to the absence of regular evaluations. This issue is of a significant concern. Consequently, strategic planning was utilized to leverage the library's strengths and enhance the processes. Conclusion. The findings indicate that the Gempita Pustaka Library's six-stage collection development approach has effectively been implemented. Therefore, the study serves as a reference for improving school library collection development process in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of services at the Religious Training Center Library in Surabaya. The method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews and direct surveys of library visitors. The results indicate that human resources, particularly the competence of librarians, significantly impact the quality of services provided. Trained and experienced librarians are capable of delivering accurate and relevant information, as well as assisting users in the information search process. Although most users express satisfaction with the services offered, there are several aspects that need improvement, especially regarding the speed of the borrowing and returning processes. Users have noted that long wait times to obtain desired books can diminish satisfaction levels, particularly for those with limited time. This study recommends enhancing training for librarians and developing user education programs to optimize library facility utilization.Keyword: Service quality, library, librarian, user satisfaction, user education, Surabaya.

Abstract

The increasing development of digital archives requires an optimal solution to face challenges in its security aspects. These challenges can be overcome by using blockchain as an encryption that keeps the archive reliable and trustworthy. This study aims to determine the development of scientific article publications that identify the relationship between blockchain and archives. Data was obtained from the database published by Web of Science (WoS) from 2015-2023. The keywords used to obtain appropriate results are “Blockchain” and “Archive” based on topics. Then 106 documents were obtained, namely articles and proceedings papers. The search results were exported in BibTex format and analyzed bibliometrically using the biblioshiny web interface from R Studio software. The results of the analysis show that blockchain-related publications in digital archives are still not very developed. This is because publications have only started since 2015, which is the beginning of innovation in the application of blockchain in digital archives. In addition, it is supported by treemap and wordcloud analysis which did not find the word archive.
