Abstract

Developing an engineering design is resource-intensive and time-consuming, particularly for the floats of a floatplane design, due to its complexity and limited testing facilities. Intelligent-based computational design (IBCD) techniques, which integrate computational design techniques and machine learning (ML) algorithms, offer a solution to reduce required testing by providing predictions. This paper proposes a deep learning (DL)-based IBCD method for modeling floats' lift-to-drag coefficient ratio (CL/CD), where DL is one of the most powerful ML. The proposed method consists of two phases: hyper-parameter optimization and DL model training and evaluation. A genetic algorithm (GA) is employed in the first phase to explore complex hyper-parameter combinations efficiently. Evaluation of the predicted CL/CD of the floats using the DL model resulted in a satisfactory R-squared of 0.9329 and the lowest mean squared error (MSE) of 0,001536. These results demonstrate the ability of DL model to predict the float's performance accurately and can facilitate further design optimization. Thus, the proposed method can offer a time-efficient and cost-effective solution for predicting float performance, aiding in optimizing floatplane designs and enhancing their functionalities.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out how the implementation of library marketing and information services carried out by the Tengku Anis Library UiTM Kelantan. The method used is a literature study of scientific articles relevant to the topic and observation on the Tengku Anis Library website. The results show that library marketing activities and information services are carried out by Tengku Anis Library. One of the media is the official website as a form of their adaptation to technological developments. In conducting information marketing activities, the process starts from analyzing market opportunities, selecting target markets, developing a marketing mix, and developing marketing strategies and managing marketing programs. They have implemented these four steps so that the marketing process until the product reaches the library users can take place well. However, there is one thing that is still lacking in the process, which is the relatively lacking aspect of market segmentation. The author recommends conducting more specific market segmentation activities so that the intended market is more appropriate so that the product can be used evenly.

Abstract

In today's digitally inundated era, accessing information is more accessible yet challenging due to the sheer volume available. This article underscores the pivotal role of VSM in managing vast data and enhancing retrieval accuracy by ranking documents based on query similarity. Term normalization, a part of VSM development, standardizes words for indexing, improving accuracy by addressing word variations. The study's methodology involved a systematic literature review, data collection via electronic databases, and thematic analysis. The research findings highlight vital aspects: the fundamentals of information retrieval systems, the working principle of VSM in document sorting, and the process of term normalization. Various methods within term normalization, such as tokenizing, filtering, stemming, and term weighting (e.g., TF, IDF, Cosine Similarity), are elucidated for refining document relevance. Discussions underscore the impact of term normalization on information retrieval, emphasizing heightened accuracy, efficiency, and reduced error rates. In the research paper, five studies that showcased successful applications of VSM across diverse domains were referenced. These domains included karaoke song searches, thesis examiner selection, pest identification in rice plants, hadith interpretation, and library material searches. Each study demonstrated the effectiveness and versatility of VSM in solving various problems in different fields. In conclusion, VSM emerges as a potent tool in managing information overload, particularly when coupled with normalization techniques. The studies reviewed illustrate VSM's efficacy in delivering precise results, affirming its status as a preferred method in information retrieval systems due to its accuracy and effectiveness.

Abstract

In the age of information technology, website development has become a crucial solution in empowering communities, and this article highlights the important role that library and information science students play in this endeavour. The focus is on Kampung 1001 Malam Surabaya, specifically on the community that has undergone relocation to Rusunawa Benowo, Pakal. The website developed by these students became a vital communication and information tool for the community. It provides important information about relocation, available resources, community support, and skills that can help them in facing new challenges after relocation. The importance of good interface design in the development of the website is key, as it ensures that users can easily interact with the website and obtain the information they need. In addition, training and mentoring programs are necessary to ensure effective use of the website. Through the socialisation program, the community is given an in-depth understanding of the importance of the website as a communication tool and source of information that can provide significant benefits in their daily lives. All in all, the development of this website helps to improve the welfare of the community, improve the image of their village, and help them overcome the technological challenges that exist in today's digital era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code-mixing in online discourse, on platforms such as X, offers an interesting setting to detect preliminary markers of anxiety within diverse linguistic expressions. The usage of more than one language within a single text or tweet necessitates the creation of a multilingual corpus to identify initial indicators of anxiety in code-mixed texts or tweets, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of mental health in the digital age. Existing research on code-mixed textual context primarily centres on code-mixed language of English with Spanish or Hindi, leaving a gap in our comprehension of other code-mixed languages, in particular; English with Malay or Indonesian language. Thus, our study focuses on anxiety-related linguistic expressions in Malay and Indonesian languages, such as ‘bimbang’, ‘bingung’, ‘panik’, ‘gelisah’, ‘cemas’, ‘takut’, ‘kacau’, ‘gemetar’, ‘gugup’, ‘teror’ and occasionally the usage of slangs such as ‘neves’, ‘gabra’, and ‘cape bgt’. In this paper, we introduce CORPUS4PANWO, an annotated sentiment-driven multilingual corpus for panic and worry detection in tweets. To experiment the corpus, we applied a corpus-based sentiment analysis utilizing VADER on diverse events, achieving accuracy of between 76.6% - 88.0% when used on tweets in negative circumstances. The corpus is a valuable resource for Southeast Asian linguistics, enabling exploration of emotional expression in diverse contexts.

Abstract

Cryptocurrency being a digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography to secure transactions and control the creation of new units. Bitcoin, one of the most popular cryptocurrency, offers various advantages such as security, transparency, and efficiency. The value of Bitcoin can change over time, similar to the regular currencies, and the need to predict the value can be as important as those in the regular. The prediction can be done by multiple algorithms. The purpose of this research is to compare five algorithms in predicting bitcoin value based on Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) and Squared Error (R2). The five algorithms compared can model the prediction of changes in the bitcoin cryptocurrency, effectively. Based on the experiment, Random Forest outperformed the other algorithms based on its RMSE and R2 result

Abstract

The advent of digital technologies has transformed interaction dynamics between companies and potential employees by creating job search platforms. KitaLulus, one of the leading platforms in Indonesia, facilitates the job search process by providing various vacancies from various companies on one platform. However, there are several complaints from users, such as a complex job application process, inefficient file storage, and poor user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). On the other hand, Twitter is one of the places that contains user reviews, both in the form of satisfaction or disappointment, so that it can be used to identify public sentiment towards the KitaLulus application. Since it is important for the current generation, it is necessary to have a quality job search application, where recommendations for improving the quality of the application can be obtained from sentiment analysis. Therefore, sentiment analysis was conducted to identify public sentiment towards the KitaLulus application. The analysis in this study used 600 review data from Twitter which were then classified by sentiment based on Naïve Bayes, KNN, and Decision Tree algorithms. This research consists of six stages, namely data collection, data cleaning, data labelling, data preprocessing starting from SMOTE, split data, transform cases, tokenize, filter stopwords, and filter tokens (by length), sentiment classification, and finally results and evaluation. The results, after SMOTE was applied at the preprocessing stage, showed that KNN was the best algorithm with accuracy of 83.33%, precision of 80.36%%, and recall of 71.09%, followed by Naïve Bayes and Decision Tree respectively.
