Abstract

Communication is fundamental to human interaction, yet individuals who are deaf or speech-impaired often face barriers due to limited accessibility to sign language resources. This study presents the development of a mobile sign language dictionary designed to enhance communication and learning. Traditional sign language dictionaries, whether in printed or video formats, present challenges in accessibility, usability, and portability. In contrast, a mobile application offers an interactive, efficient, and user-friendly solution. The proposed application integrates gesture recognition, video demonstrations, and text-based explanations to facilitate sign language learning. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-based storage, the app ensures accurate sign recognition and provides a comprehensive database of gestures, including letters, numbers, root words, prefixes, suffixes, and commonly used phrases. A structured methodology involving requirement analysis, data collection, design, development, testing, and revision was applied to develop a functional and accessible tool. User testing demonstrated high engagement and learning effectiveness, with 85% of participants reporting increased comfort with mobile learning tools, 82.5% finding the app beneficial for sign language acquisition, and 90% improving their familiarity with sign words. These results confirm that a mobile sign language dictionary is an efficient educational tool that fosters inclusivity and communication accessibility. Future enhancements, including database expansion, additional sign language dialects, and interactive exercises, can further improve the application’s impact.

Abstract

This research explores the relevance of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan’s struggle and the founding of Muhammadiyah with the prophetic mission of Prophet Muhammad SAW, particularly in the context of Islamic reform, the liberation of the ummah, and the modernization of Islamic education. Muhammadiyah emerged as a progressive Islamic movement through an organized system, marking a shift from traditional religious authority centered on individual clerics to a more systematic and rational approach. Inspired by global Islamic reform movements and the Prophet’s method of building a da’wah community, K.H. Ahmad Dahlan rejected taqlid (blind following), superstitions, and secularism. Using a library research methodology, this study analyzes historical and conceptual connections that reflect the alignment between the Prophet’s strategy and Muhammadiyah’s ideological and practical framework. The findings reveal that Muhammadiyah consistently embodies the values of tawhid, ijtihad, mu’amalah dunyawiyah, and modern education as a form of holistic (kafah) Islamic implementation—following the prophetic legacy in establishing a just and progressive Islamic civilization.

Abstract

Indonesia negara yang menghadapi perubahan iklim yang semakin meningkat, perlu menyediakan informasi yang relevan seperti data cuaca. Data cuaca sangat penting untuk memprediksi dan mengelola perubahan iklim di wilayah tertentu, seperti kota atau wilayah. Data logger adalah perangkat yang dapat digunakan untuk mencatat berbagai aspek cuaca, seperti cuaca, suhu, dan kualitas udara menggunakan sensor elektronik atau elektromekanis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu memonitoring sistem kecepatan angin, suhu dan kelembaban udara, dengan menggunakan sensor anemometer dan DHT11 serta mikrokontroler ESP32 sebagai unit pemroses dan thinger.io sebagai output dari hasil pembacaan sensor. Hasil pengujian sensor anemometer mendapatkan hasil tingkat error dengan nilai 0,45% dan sensor suhu pada DHT11 mendapatkan hasil error dengan nilai 0,46% sedangkan kelembaban mendapatkan nilai error sebesar 0,24%. Hasil sistem monitoring ini dapat menampilkan hasil pembacaan sensor yang sudah melalui proses pengolahan data untuk dicari nilai rata-ratanya ke dalam website thinger.io, serta mencatat data hasil pembacaan sensor secara realtime ke dalam fitur data bucket thinger.io.
