Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of several types of fertilizer on broccoli crop yields, carried out from June - August 2023 in Kakaskasen Village, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with 5 (treatment) types of fertilizer. Treatments consisted of: P0 (No fertilization), P1 Phonska fertilizer 75kg/ha and urea 50kg/ha, P2 Chicken manure 20 tons/ha, P3 Goat manure 20 tons/ha, P4 Pig manure 20 tons/ha and all treatments Using manure is applied 3 days before transplanting, phonska and urea fertilizer are applied 1 week after planting. The variables observed were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), crop diameter (cm), crop wet weight (g). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there was a significant effect, it was continued with the BNT test at the 5% level. The research results show that several types of fertilizer affect the yield of broccoli plants. Providing 20 tonnes/ha of goat manure and 20 tonnes/ha of pig manure gave the best broccoli yields. Keywords : fertilization, broccoli, brassica

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of combining Fruit-Based Local Microorganisms fertilizer with inorganic fertilizer on pakcoy yield, and to identify the most effective combination for enhancing production. The research was conducted from May to June 2025 in Kaskasen II Village, North Tomohon, North Sulawesi, using a Completely Randomized Design with one-factor combinations and six treatments (A: 150 ml/L water, B: 100 kg/ha NPK + 100 kg/ha Urea, C: 50 kg/ha NPK + 50 kg/ha Urea + 150 ml MOL, D: 50 kg/ha NPK + 50 kg/ha Urea + 300 ml MOL, E: 100 kg/ha NPK + 100 kg/ha Urea + 150 ml MOL, F: 100 kg/ha NPK + 100 kg/ha Urea + 300 ml MOL), each with four replications. The observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, and fresh weight. The results showed that the combination of inorganic fertilizer and MOL had a significant effect on fresh weight (846.62 g), but no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, or leaf width. Therefore, the combination of inorganic fertilizer and MOL is effective in improving pakcoy yield. Keywords: pakcoy, inorganic fertilizer, local microorganisms

Abstract

Growing media are one of the main components in plant cultivation, both conventional and modern, functioning as a medium for root growth and development, as well as providing nutrients, water, and air required for plant metabolism. This study aimed to determine the effect of growing media and to identify the best growing medium for the growth and yield of green mustard (Brassica juncea L.). This study was conducted in Kakaskasen Dua Village, North Tomohon District, Tomohon City, at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. The research was carried out from October to December 2025 with a single-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five growing media treatments, namely soil (M0), soil : chicken manure (1:1) (M1), soil : chicken manure : rice husk charcoal (2:2:1) (M2), soil : rice husk charcoal (1:1) (M3), and soil : chicken manure : rice husk : rice husk charcoal (1:1:1:1) (M4), each replicated five times. The observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, and fresh weight of the plant. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that treatment M2 produced the best growth (plant height of 44.72 cm and number of leaves of 16.60) as well as the highest fresh weight yield of green mustard. Keywords: growing media, growth, mustard greens, rice husk charcoal, yield

Abstract

Caisim (Brassica rapa L.) is a horticultural commodity that plays an important role in supporting the Indonesian economy. To increase plant growth and yield, the use of fertilizer is essential. However, excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers can damage soil structure and fertility. One environmentally friendly alternative is the use of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from agricultural waste materials, such as banana stumps, which are known to contain important nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). This study aims to determine the effect of applying POC from banana stumps on caisim plant yield and to determine the best concentration that can provide optimal results. The study was conducted for three months, from January to March 2025, at the Paslaten 2 plantation, East Tomohon District, Tomohon City, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and five replications. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with a 5% LSD test if there was a significant effect. Observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, and plant fresh weight. The results of the study showed that liquid organic fertilizer from banana stems had a significant effect on the number of leaves and fresh weight, but not on plant height.                                                  Keywords : Caisim; Brassica rapa L.; Banana stump; Liquid organic fertilizer; Plant growth and yield.
