Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of forming the Islamic character of students at Wisma Padang State University. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study design approach, the research data is taken using a set of interview protocols that the author made and has been validated by one methodology expert to ten informants (students), the informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. All interview results were then analyzed thematically using. Overall, the research findings found that there were five character changes in students after living at Wisma Padang State University. The five findings are; i) dress according to syar'i, ii) higher learning motivation, iii) polite and courteous to fellow friends, iv) more efficient in managing finances, v) make good use of time. The results of this study can be used as initial data for future researchers in examining this problem in different contexts and issues

Abstract

This study aims to determine the readiness of SMKN 1 Pancung Soal in dealing with learning in the new normal era, the obstacles faced by SMKN 1 Pancung Soal in dealing with learning in the new normal era and the solutions of SMKN 1 Pancung Soal in dealing with learning in the new normal era. This type of research by its nature is a qualitative research. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this qualitative research were teachers and principals at SMKN 1 Pancung Soal. The results showed that elementary school readiness in facing learning in the new normal era with school readiness as learning readiness which includes health screening protocols, application of health protocols, applying several learning methods, communication and collaboration in the use of technology. The obstacles faced by schools in dealing with learning in the new normal era are changes in curriculum, students, teachers, parents, and completeness of facilities and infrastructure, innovation and implementation. The solution that can be done by schools in facing the constraints of school readiness in learning in the new normal era is to recognize the conditions that occur, focus on the condition of students and parents

Abstract

This study describes the situation of the New Normal learning period. Anxiety in the community who wants face-to-face learning to be carried out again. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method, namely research that describes the actual conditions. This research is used to analyze events, phenomena, or social realities by including analysis and interpretation of the problems studied. This research is expected to be able to see how the implementation of learning during the new normal is carried out in accordance with the provisions that apply during the covid 19 period that hit the city of Padang. Data obtained from various sources, data collection techniques through instruments carried out by researchers, such as observation, interviews and documentation. Research subjects are informants, namely people who provide a description of the current situation, namely a social situation or social situation which consists of three elements, namely place (palce), actors (actors), and activities (activity) that interact synergistically. Then the analysis and conclusion, the location of this research in the city of Padang. This study sees that in the implementation of the new normal learning period after being online for a long time, it must follow the applicable rules and careful preparation in the midst of the covid 19 virus siege. Considering further that many parents of elementary school students want to return to regular learning face to face. Judging from the results of this study, learning in the new normal period is carried out well if there is cooperation between teachers, students and parents in studying at home. Full guidance for children, and the readiness of parents to take their time and continue to carry out health protocols as a condition for face-to-face learning to be reopened

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Words of The Day and words grouping activities on the Vocabulary learning outcomes of grade VIII students at MTs.S Bahrul 'Ulum Pesisir Selatan. The research was conducted in class VIII MTs.S Bahrul 'Ulum, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This type of research is a quasi-experimental class using experimental class and control class. The research subjects taken were students in class VIII MTs.S Bahrul 'Ulum, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Data collection techniques that will be carried out in this study are tests and documentation. Data collection using student learning outcomes tests is intended to get an overview of the learning outcomes of groups of students taught using Words of The Day and word rouping activities against groups of students taught using conventional learning methods. Documentation is used to obtain data about the list of names of students who are the research subjects. The results in this study indicate that (1) that the Vocabulary learning outcomes of students using the Words of The Day learning method and word rouping activities are better than the learning outcomes of students using conventional learning methods with the value sig. (2-tailed) 0.020 < α 0.05, (2) there are differences in learning outcomes. Before and after students' Vocabulary groups used the Words of The Day learning method and word rouping activities with the value sig. (2-tailed) 0.002 < α 0.05.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to illustrate the efforts made by parents in providing sex education to children aged 6-13 years. To explain what form of child questions about sex and to explain the obstacles faced by parents in providing sex education to children aged 6-13 years in Sungai Kuyung Kecamatan Pancung Soal Sub-District. This research is field research with descriptive qualitative methods. In the determination of the sample the author uses snowball sampling. The results of the research that has been conducted in Sungai Kuyung River Village are parents trying to provide sex education to the child and answer the child's questions about sex. Here parents play a role in teaching child sex abuse by applying when entering the parent's room by asking permission before entering, teaching how to look at the situation seen by the child. Then parents also avoid the child from free sex by separating the bed between the parent and brother or sister. Parents also explain about sex to their child as much as they can

Abstract

This study aims to (a) To describe the urgency of pedagogical competence in fostering student character (b) To describe the urgency of personality competence in fostering student character (c) To describe the urgency of social competence in fostering student character (d) To describe the urgency of professional competence in coaching student character. Retrieval of data using qualitative descriptive methods to describe and describe the urgency of teacher competence in fostering student character in MTsN Pancung Soal in accordance with what it is and analyze it scientifically. Indicators of character development that need to be done in learning are reviewed from 4 (four) aspects of teacher competency, namely: (1) the urgency of pedagogical competencies in the form of understanding character values for students, applying character values in the implementation of learning, instilling character values in utilizing learning technology, evaluating learning outcomes and actualizing student potential. (2) the urgency of personality competence in the form of inculcation of character values in loving position, being fair to all students, being patient and calm, and building authority as educators. (3) the urgency of social competence in the form of instilling values of politeness in oral and written communication, the use of information technology and functional communication, associating effectively with the whole school community and student guardians. (4) the urgency of professional competence in the form of inculcation of character values in the educational foundation as well as in learning materials.
