Abstract

The MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) industry has enormous potential. With around 57,895,721 million businesses, or around 99.99% of all businesses in Indonesia, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the majority. In terms of labor absorption, MSMEs absorbed 114,144,082 people, or around 96.99% of the workforce in Indonesia, in 2013. Corporations absorbed the remaining 3%. Most Indonesian people do micro and small businesses. This business usually has the same characteristics in each region; There is nothing good about a low exclusion rate; Several cases show that micro, small and medium enterprise groups cannot meet basic needs such as shelter, nutrition, education, health and housing.

Abstract

The World Trade Organization (WTO) plays a crucial role in maintaining Indonesia's economic balance. Through the implementation of fair and transparent international trade policies, the WTO helps enhance market access for Indonesian products and reduce trade barriers. Moreover, the WTO serves as a forum for trade negotiations and dispute resolution, ultimately contributing to the country's economic stability. This study analyzes the WTO's contributions to supporting Indonesia's economic growth through the oversight of trade agreements and dispute resolution. The findings show that Indonesia's active participation in the WTO has a positive impact on the national economic balance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine regional economic growth and development disparities between districts/cities in North Sumatra Province. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data sourced from publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and regional development planning documents. The analysis is conducted using content analysis techniques to explore growth patterns, causes of inequality, and their impact on development policies. The results show that economic growth is still concentrated in urban areas, particularly Medan City, Deli Serdang Regency, and Binjai City, while inland and island regions such as Nias and Mandailing Natal lag significantly behind. This disparity is caused by the uneven distribution of infrastructure, the concentration of investment in growth centers, and non-inclusive development policies. This study recommends the need for development policies based on local potential and equitable distribution of infrastructure to encourage more equitable economic growth across the region.
