Abstract

Many criteria are often used as reasons for choosing a partner. Among them are wealth, lineage, beauty and religion. Some people have the principle of only wanting to marry a partner who has high criteria related to these criteria, so that the effect is to delay marriage or even end up living without a partner. This study aims to analyze this principle by referring to the maqashid sharia perspective. maqashid sharia is a central concept in Islam that highlights the goals or purposes of Islamic law. This research is a qualitative research. The method used in data collection is library research. The results showed that the principle of only wanting to marry a partner who has high criteria can be in harmony with maqashid sharia as long as it is applied realistically and considers sharia principles in decision making when there is a conflict between various maslahat, various mafsadat or between maslahat and mafsadat. And it would be better if it is aimed at achieving His pleasure, even though it is not a necessity. The principle will become inconsistent with maqashid sharia if it is applied without considering these matters.

Abstract

Intention is one of the determinants of the acceptance of a servant's worship. Without the right intention, one's worship becomes empty even though the rituals he performs are full of hardships. Among the problems of fiqh in the chapter of intentions is the merging of two intentions in one worship. This study aims to explain the provisions explained by the scholars to be able to combine intentions in one worship only. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method by looking at the relevant literature data. The results showed that not all worship with the same ritual can be combined in its intentions. But there is a stipulation that worship that can be combined is only between worship that is meant by its essence and that which is not meant by its essence. While worship that is both meant by its essence, it should not be combined and must be carried out one by one. So a Muslim should pay attention to the evidences of the worship that he will combine his intentions and seek the truth by seeking explanations from the scholars so that this combination is valid, so that his worship can be accepted and does not become a useless practice because it is rejected.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of the "Marriage is Scary" trend on social media on the interest in marriage among Muslim K-pop fans in Indonesia, a unique subculture at the intersection of Islamic identity and global popular culture. Using a qualitative approach with the theoretical framework of social construction of reality, this study analyses how digital narratives shape perceptions of the institution of marriage. Thematic analysis of in-depth interviews revealed that this trend does not create new fears, but rather serves as a catalyst that strengthens and validates pre-existing doubts. The fundamental factors that trigger this anxiety include the risk of choosing the wrong partner, financial uncertainty, and past trauma from family conflict. The unique factor found was the concern regarding identity negotiation as a K-pop fan with potential partners. It is concluded that the informants did not reject the institution of marriage from an Islamic perspective. Conversely, they demonstrate mature understanding by prioritising holistic readiness—encompassing faith, mental, and financial aspects—before entering marriage, which leads them to postpone and deprioritize getting married.
