Abstract

Nigeria is equally befallen with numerous challenges in its public-school teacher recruitment drive that negatively infiltrate its education system. This paper discusses the challenges experienced in recruiting teachers in public schools in Nigeria. Some forms of obstacles presented are characterized by bureaucratic bottlenecks, flaws in transparency, lack of adequate funding, and nepotism among others. This paper attempts to explore the chances to improve the method of recruiting teachers through policy reforms, increased financing and merit-based choosing criteria. The challenges include bureaucratic bottlenecks, impunity, lack of transparency, inadequate funding, and nepotism. The reform process would promote responsiveness to policy in recruitment through the possibility of further funding and the use of merit selection, and there would be far-reaching change in the process of online recruitment. If these problems are solved, and opportunities gradually positioned in their rightful places, the teacher recruitment process in Nigeria will be better and as such, the quality of education in this country will progress. Based on this, it is advised that any obstacles in the current selection process be routinely reviewed and fixed.

Abstract

Kampung Batik is one of the cultural tourism destinations and has been the largest Batik producer in Semarang city since the 18th century. Most of the population consists of women who are actively involved in Batik cultural activities. The research aims to describe the stages, the forms, and the impact of women’s participation in community empowerment. The study was designed with a descriptive qualitative approach involving three female members, including the Tourism Assistance Community of Kampoeng Djadhoel chairman, the Neighborhood Head of Kampung Batik, and the Kampung Batik community. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity testing was carried out using triangulation of sources and techniques. The stages of data analysis were data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the stages of women’s participation included decision-making, activity implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and utilization of development results. The positive impact of women’s participation is increased employment, income, and skills; the negative effect is the problem arising from Batik waste management. This research can be a reference for the government, society, and women to improve women’s welfare through empowerment.

Abstract

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) underscores the significance of quality education for all, emphasizing the want for inclusive and equitable learning opportunities that vend lifelong learning and the acquisition of essential capabilities. In the continually evolving academic sphere, the cultivation of 21st-century abilities has emerged as a pivotal element in ensuring the provision of incredible knowledge of experiences.  This paper scrutinises pioneering pedagogical tactics designed to foster the improvement of 21st-century abilities within the context of quality education. Through examination of present instructional literature and a meticulous evaluation of practical coaching methodologies, this observation endeavours to illuminate powerful teaching strategies that foster critical thinking, ingenuity, collaboration, and virtual literacy among students. Moreover, this examination delves in addition into the position of teachers in fostering those abilities and investigates the ability to demand situations and opportunities linked with the implementation of those processes in diverse academic settings. By exploring the juxtaposition of pedagogy and 21st-century skills, this study aims to offer actionable insights for educators, policymakers, and invested stakeholders eager to cultivate resilient and adaptable learning environments.
