Abstract

The study of the living Qur'an has now spread to cyberspace. The living Qur'an, which is generally synonymous with practical phenomena in real life, does not prevent the virtual world from taking part in representing the practice of the living Qur'an in the world of cinema. The same thing happened in the film "Al-Qur'an Missing You". This inspirational short film, which aired with a duration of 19:23 seconds, succeeded in attracting an audience of 23,113. This research aims to find receptions that have been classified by Ahmad Rafiq in the film "Al-Qur'an Missing You". To achieve this goal, this research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive-analytic approach while introducing Ahmad Rafiq's version of the living Qur'an theory as the basis for data analysis. By referring to the research process, this research found that exegetical reception, aesthetic reception and functional reception were found in the film "Al-Qur'an Missing You". By providing specific efforts, the exegetical reception is realized in Ayah's interpretation of surah al-Ashr verses 1-3, the aesthetic reception is represented in Alif's pattern of reading the Qur'an in tartil and the functional reception is from the informative aspect which is indicated by the narrative knowledge of groups of people The losers are those who abandon good deeds. Meanwhile, functional reception from the performative aspect can be seen in Alif's religious play, which begins to neutralize the reading of the Qur'an in his activities by relying on his understanding of surah al-Ashr 1-3. Living qur’an yang umumnya identik dengan fenomena praktikal di kehidupan nyata, tak menghalangi dunia maya untuk turut andil merepresentasikan praktik living qur’an di dunia perfilman. Hal yang sama terjadi pada film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Film pendek inspirasi yang tayang dengan durasi 19:23 detik ini berhasil menggait penonton sebanyak 23.113. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan resepsi yang telah diklasifikasikan oleh Ahmad Rafiq sekaligus mencari proses transmisi dan transformasi pada film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analisis sekaligus mengintrodusir teori living qur’an versi Ahmad Rafiq sebagai basis analisa data. Dengan mengacu pada proses penelitian tersebut, penelitian ini menemukan titik temu bahwa resepsi eksegesis, resepsi estetis dan resepsi fungsional terdapat dalam film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Dengan memberikan upaya spesifikasi, resepsi eksegesis terwujud pada penafsiran Ayah terhadap surah al-Ashr ayat 1-3, resepsi estetis terrepresentasi pada pola bacaan al-Qur’an Alif secara tartil dan resepsi fungsional dari aspek informatif yang terindikasi pada pengetahuan narasi golongan orang-orang yang merugi adalah golongan yang meninggalkan amal sholih. Sementara resepsi fungsional dari aspek performatif terlihat pada lakon beragama Alif yang mulai menetralisir dengan bacaan qur’an dalam aktivitasnya dengan bersandar pada pemahamannya terhadap surah al-ashr 1-3.   Keyword:  Living Quran, Resepsi; Film Inspirasi, Gontor TV

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the relationship between the Quranic text and the story of the Prophet Lut and his people within the early Arab prophetic society. Additionally, it explores the purpose behind presenting this story to the early Arab society known to have no sexual deviations. This research uses library research with qualitative research methods to achieve this purpose. This research focuses on the verses describing the story of the Prophet Lut and his people by referring to Theodor Noldeke’s Meccan-Medinan chronological periodization to obtain the characteristics of each period. This research finds that the story of the Prophet Lut falls into the first, second, and third Meccan periods. The development of Prophet Lut and his people’s narrative in each period aligns with the development of the needs and challenges of the Prophet Muhammad’s preaching. Homosexuality occupied the same position as the shirk in early Arab society because it was against human nature. The story of the Lut people was evidence of God’s power in destroying people who disobey and violate human nature.

Abstract

The flow of interpretation often becomes 'commonplace' when examining the dynamics of Qur'anic exegesis, particularly in the classical and medieval periods. Sayyid Qutb, in his work Tafsir fi Zilal al-Qur'an, is believed to incorporate a da'wah narrative aimed at disseminating a comprehensive understanding of Islamic law. His interpretation reflects the historical context and personal experiences of the Mufassir, which influenced his interpretative style. For instance, materialism and hedonism are seen as underlying factors that have led to certain interpretative perspectives, phenomena that remain prevalent in society today. Therefore, this study seeks to uncover the da'wah narrative in Sayyid Qutb's interpretation and explore his response to the phenomenon of a hedonistic lifestyle, specifically referring to QS. al-Hadid: 20, QS. al-An'am: 32, QS. al-Qasas: 32, and  QS. at-Takathur: 1-2. To achieve this, the research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing content analysis as a data analysis tool. The study's findings reveal Sayyid Qutb's efforts to uphold Islamic reform by opposing life systems that marginalize Islamic values, such as materialism and hedonism. In Sayyid Qutb's perspective, hedonism is addressed through advocating for a balanced approach that harmonizes worldly pursuits with the values of the hereafter.

Abstract

Saeed's efforts in offering ideas in interpretive work make a significant contribution. Basically, Saeed's thinking was inspired by Fazlur Rahman, but he provided additional inspiration in the form of a hierarchy of values ​​which is able to provide a classification of particular and universal meanings. Saeed's idea stems from his anxiety in seeing the reality of reading the text of the Koran which is carried out by sacralizing a textualist approach. This approach is considered the 'most' optimal in reading the text, thereby denying the presence of context outside the text. Due to the dominance of this textualist group, Saeed emerged to break through textual sacralization by offering a contextual approach that provides the possibility of comprehensive meaning. Based on Saeed's offer, this research also tries to apply Saaed's value hierarchy theory to the part of the verses of the Koran which discuss the prohibition of insulting religion. To explore the studies in this research, this research uses qualitative research with library research to explore the sources that are needed in the research. The primary source was obtained from Saeed's contextual interpretation book. Meanwhile, secondary sources are found in writings that have explored Saeed's thoughts and which are related to the object of research. Based on the research that has been carried out, this research found results in the form of Abdullah Saeed's thought construct which was absorbed by Fazlur Rahman's thought and the implementation of the value hierarchy in the verse prohibiting blasphemy against religion which is classified as protectional and implementational values. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine how the Holy Qur'an and Tripitaka respond to the phenomena of blasphemy. This study employs a qualitative research method with a library approach to achieve this purpose. The data originated from two sources: primary sources and secondary sources. This study used a descriptive-comparative analysis model to analyze the data. The study's findings reveal an agreement prohibiting the reviling, insulting, and degrading of the noble values held by each religion. In terms of how the two holy scriptures respond to blasphemers, they have distinct and often opposing narratives. The Qur'an promotes a rigid approach, but the Tripitaka suggests correcting erroneous interpretations for perpetrators of religious distortion.Keywords: Al-qur’an; Blasphemy; Comparative; Tripitaka. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan perspektif kitab suci al-Qur’an dan Tripitaka dalam merespon fenomena penistaan agama. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan tekhnik pustaka. Data-data yang menjadi otoritas penelitian ditemukan melalui dua sumber, yakni sumber primer dan sumber sekunder. Sebagai pisau analisa data, penelitian ini menggunakan model analisis deskriptif-komparatif. Dari pengkajian yang telah dilakukan, ditemukan hasil berupa kesepakatan larangan mencaci, menghina dan merendahkan konsep luhur yang diyakini oleh setiap agama. Terhadap respon bagi pelaku penistaan agama, kedua kitab suci memiliki narasi khas yang cenderung berbeda. Al-qur’an lebih menekankan kepada sikap tegas, sementara Tripitaka menganjurkan untuk memberikan koreksi terhadap interpretasi yang keliru bagi pelaku pendistorsian agama. Abstract

This research is motivated by the complexity of disasters that occur in the latest era but trigger disaster mitigation responses that tend to be passive. In the Qur'an, indications of disaster mitigation are presented through the narrative Lūṭ story. However, the story of Lūṭ is often read with reference to the centrality of the sexuality of the Sodomites, so that aspects of disaster mitigation are often marginalized. The interpretation of Q.S al-Ḥijr (15):61-74 also tends to be read textually so that it does not touch the maqȃṣid aspect behind the verse. On these problems, this study seeks to answer, how the critical analysis of maqāṣidi tafsīr on Disaster Mitigation in Q.S al-Ḥijr (15): 61-74. This question intends to explore what the maqȃṣid behind the presence of disaster mitigation orders in the story of the prophet Lūṭ. The results showed that the maqȃṣid aspects of the verse are hifdz al-dīn, hifdz al-nafs, hifdz al-nasl, hifdz al-'aql and hifdz al-mȃl. At the same time, the maqȃṣid dimension is the value of humanity represented in the humanism of Lūṭ who helped his people and the value of freedom of choice for the people of Lūṭ to follow Lūṭ's da'wah by leaving the abominable act so as to obtain salvation. By using the analysis of maqāṣidi tafsīr, an interpretation is obtained that goes beyond the internal aspects of the text so that the purpose behind the presentation of the story of Lūṭ in this verse is increasingly revealed. This makes maqāṣidi tafsīr bring up a unique perspective of novelty so that the principles of disaster risk management can be deduced for related institutions.
