Abstract

Analysis of the tensor moment and focal mechanism of an earthquake aims to determine the value of the tensor moment that represents the direction of the force that causes the earthquake and the focal mechanism that describes the characteristics of the fault motion that causes the earthquake. Analysis of the tensor moment and focal mechanism is carried out using the waveform inversion method. The waveform inversion method is an inversion method that utilizes the P-wave arrival time and is estimated with a Green's function involving three seismogram components. The data used in this study are ten earthquake data in the West Sumatra region in 2007-2022 whose earthquake sources are in the Sumatra fault zone with earthquake strength ≥4.9 Magnitude. The results of this study obtained a range of tensor moment values, namely M11 = -2.595 to -4.555, M22 = 1.743 to 4.476, M33 = 0.853 to 0.079, M12 = 6.258 to -4.814, M31 = 1.241 to 0.719, M32 = 0.530 to -1.436, and the results of the focus mechanism obtained are strike-slip patterns.

Abstract

The study examines he trend of air temperature in Padang City over the last three decades as part of efforts to understand regional climate variability and the potential impact of increasing global temperature on Padang City. The average, minimum, and maximum temperature data from the Minangkabau Meteorological Station for the period 1991–2020 and the Teluk Bayur Maritim Station for the period 1994–2020 were analyzed using Sen’s Slope Test to determine trend values and the Mann-Kendall Test to assess significance. The analysis results show a significant upward trend in average and minimum temperatures at Minangkabau Station, and maximum temperatures at Taluk Bayur Station. Urban Heat Island and industrial activities are the main factors of this increasing trend. If this trend continues to increase in the years to come, future temperature increases will be more extreme.

Abstract

The Padang Solok route topographically has a geological structure that is prone to steep slopes, so it has a high level of disaster risk, one of which is shifting soil and causing landslides. Slope is one of the factors that cause landslides, the purpose of this study is to determine the slope that is prone to landslides. However, slope information needs to be known the slope, and we can know the percentage and degree by mapping using satellite radar SAR (Syntetic Aperture Radar) technology, which is an effective choice for detecting the earth's surface in the Padang-Solok area with SRTM data taken in the area. Processed by observing the slope of the area and then analyzing the landslide area. SAR radar satellite technology allows monitoring of landslide-prone areas with high accuracy, and wide area coverage, operating day and night. This slope is a comparison of height in the form of the vertical distance of a land with its horizontal distance. The amount of slope can be expressed in several units, including percent and degree. Spatial information on slope describes the condition of the land surface, such as a flat, gentle, or steep slope. The Padang-Solok route includes steep slope areas with the highest slope of 7,9 to 40,8 and in percentage 13,80% to 90,10%, classified as steep and steep slope. Areas with steep slopes have a greater potential for landslides than those with moderate slopes, in addition to increasing the amount of surface flow. So the steeper the slope, the greater the velocity of surface flow, and thus the greater the water transport energy.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive multimedia based on problem solving using articulate storyline on fluid material in class XI Phase F. The research wants to test the validity and practicality of interactive multimedia using articulate storyline. The research method used R&D with Plomp’s model. Plomp's model consist of three phases, there are preliminary phase, prototyping phase, assesment phase. The subjects of this research were the physics lecturer of physics department, physics teacher and students in class XII IPA 9 MAN 2 Padang. The instruments used to collect data consisted of interview sheets with teacher, observation sheets, self-evalution questionnaire, expert review, one to one and small group questionnaire sheets. The data obtained were analyzed using validity index proposed by Aiken and practicality data using category interval. The result of this study show that the development of interactive multimedia using Articulate Storyline was valid with score 0.91, practical by students with score 95.25% and practical by teachers with score 95.83. Conclusion of this study explains that the interactive multimedia based on problem solving using articulate storyline is valid and practical toward learning process.
