Abstract

This study investigated the correlation between Green Human Resource Management (GHRM), Organizational Citizenship Behavior towards the Environment (OCBE), and Business Sustainability among selected construction companies in Cebu City. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational-comparative approach with the participation of 102 heads and staff of selected construction companies in Cebu City. The selected statistical treatments showed a positive relationship among the three indicators, meaning they can significantly influence organizational performance and shape the organizational culture. Also, the study's findings revealed that behavior towards green practices is contingent upon the organization's commitment to the goals of GHRM and OCBE, which can affect business sustainability. With that in mind, the researchers have concluded that green human resource management practices have become a part of the organization's mindset. Both management and employees value GHRM indicators, reflected in their behavior towards the environment and business sustainability practices. Furthermore, the study recommends that the construction companies that participated in the research should adopt the sustainability framework created by the researchers.

Abstract

This descriptive or Husserlian phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of the human resource management managers and supervisors among the selected hotels in Mandaue and Cebu cities. It also presented the meaning or the essence of the said lived experiences. These became the feeders for proposals for improvement. Using purposive sampling, ten (10) key informants who are managers in different hotels were selected as the source of information. The findings indicated that the human resources management components in planning, recruitment, maintenance development, and research were practiced with the guidance of HRM objectives. Moreover, some factors facilitated improving HR practices focused on managing human energy and capabilities to improve productivity. Further, there are challenges encountered by the organization that need to be addressed, for if unabated, it will have negative consequences. All the preceding became the basis for the crafting of recommendations for improvement. It was reflected that while the data generally lean toward the positive side, there is still room for further improvement. These opportunities for improvement are the take-off points for management to craft programs to further the practice of human resources management

Abstract

Youth leadership is essential for nation-building, providing early exposure to governance and community service. The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) offers young people a platform to take on leadership roles in local government, allowing them to engage in decision-making and implement youth-focused programs. The experiences of SK Presidents often extend beyond their official duties, featuring various challenges, opportunities, and personal growth. This study explored the lived experiences of leadership among the Sangguniang Kabataan Presidents of Pangantucan, Bukidnon. The researchers used narrative inquiry or phenomenology to highlight the exploration of the key informants' lived experiences to understand the issue.  It sought to answer the domains of inquiry: the lived experiences of the Sangguniang Kabataan officials on their leadership styles, the essence or meaning of their lived experience, and the factors that can improve or deteriorate their leadership. To collect data, the researchers used the descriptive-qualitative method. The study's eight key informants are the current SK President of Pangantucan, Bukidnon, where the study was conducted, and key informants who serve the public. The researchers were the primary instrument, a validated interview guide, and audio recordings were transcribed into written text. The researcher gathered significant statements from the outputs of the key informant interviews during data analysis, and five themes were generated. These themes served as feeders to the study's production. The study identified leadership challenges faced by key informants in the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pangantucan, Bukidnon. Abstract

Amidst this global health pandemic, contractors are facing many challenges they never experienced before. With the widespread workplace changes, business sustainability has been in the spotlight. This descriptive-correlational-comparative research delved into resilience, change management, and business sustainability among the respondents of the selected PCAB-accredited contractors in Cebu City in 2022. The study's findings indicated that the respondents are very resilient, ready for change, and have a very positive note on business sustainability. The relationship between variables was shown in this paper, including the respondents' perceptions of the variables considered when grouped as officers and rank-and-file employees. The following conclusion is that even if the quantitative findings are on the higher end of the scale, more needs to be done to maintain them over a long period. Contractors must plan to be ready for any situation, even major disasters or unforeseen events. Making a crisis management strategy and business continuity dynamics will be very helpful for organizations. Additionally, the PCAB Contractors must be strong and resilient in times of unpredictability, complexity, ambiguity, and volatility to be ready for anything that may arise. To raise the levels of resilience, readiness for change management, and business sustainability among the staff of the chosen PCAB-registered construction enterprises in Cebu City, a thorough business continuity plan and business continuity dynamics were developed.
