Abstract

The advent of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly transformed library paradigms, shifting from traditional manual systems to digital platforms, a change particularly evident in academic libraries. This study focuses on the University of Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan, aiming to develop a strategic framework for its digital library to enhance services in alignment with the tridharma of higher education. Employing a qualitative, descriptive methodology, the research incorporates both primary and secondary data sources. The analysis involves data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results show that the University's library, accessible through Windows and Android applications, has experienced a marked increase in user engagement from 2020 to 2023. However, despite this growth, the development of the digital library requires further enhancement to fully realize its potential and meet user expectations. This study underlines the need for ongoing development strategies in digital libraries to keep pace with technological advancements and evolving user needs.

Abstract

Geopark literacy is the ability to understand and appreciate the geological heritage and the biological, cultural, and social diversity associated with a geopark area. Geopark literacy can be improved through various media and strategies, one of which is the geopark corner. Corner Geopark is a special room in the library that provides information and education about parks through books, brochures, posters, videos, and local products. This study aims to examine the development of geopark literacy through Corner Geopark at the Archives and Library Service (DISARPUS) of Kebumen Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews with librarians who have developed Corner Geopark, direct observation, and document analysis. The research location is at the Kebumen Regency Library and Library Office, which is located on Veteran Street No. 1, Kebumen. The results showed that the Geopark Corner at DISARPUS has been running since 2021 and has provided benefits to library visitors, especially students and teachers, and other user communities. Corner Geopark DISARPUS presents information about the Karangsambung-Karangbolong geopark, which according to the latest information is in the process of becoming one of the candidates for UNESCO Global Geopark in Indonesia. Corner Geopark DISARPUS Kebumen is also a means to promote tourism potential and local products in Kebumen Regency. This article recommends that the DISARPUS geopark corner can be improved in quality and quantity by adding a collection of books and other media relevant to geoparks, as well as organizing activities that can increase public interest and participation in geoparks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sejauh mana peran pustakawan pada komunitas akademik dalam mendukung penelitian ilmiah di UNIMUGO. Seiring dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, perpustakaan perguruan tinggi bertransformasi menjadi mitra strategis dalam proses penelitian, di mana pustakawan tidak hanya berperan sebagai penjaga koleksi, tetapi juga sebagai fasilitator aktif bagi para peneliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan pustakawan, dan peneliti, serta dilengkapi penelusuran literatur. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi bentuk kontribusi dan andil pustakawan dalam proses penelitian, tantangan dan kendala yang dihadapi, serta solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas layanan dan kolaborasi antara pustakawan dan peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pustakawan berkontribusi banyak dalam penyelengaaraan literasi informasi, penelusuran sumber daya ilmiah, pengelolaan data penelitian, dan pendampingan publikasi ilmiah. Namun, terdapat kendala, diantaranya, keterbatasan kompetensi riset pustakawan, kurangnya pelatihan berkelanjutan, keterbatasan SDM, kurangnya komunikasi dan kolaborasi, keterbatasan koleksi digital dari database yang dilanggan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan kapasitas pustakawan melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, peningkatan fasilitas teknologi, serta penguatan komunikasi dan kolaborasi dengan peneliti, dan peningkatan promosi layanan perpustakaan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan layanan perpustakaan yang lebih responsif, strategis, dan prima dalam mendukung penelitian ilmiah pada komunitas akademik di UNIMUGO.

Abstract

Social society inclusion is a process of developing the capacity of individuals and groups to participate and play a role. This research aims to discover the innovation model and development of library services based on social inclusion. And obstacles faced in the implementation of the development of the innovation. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection techniques observation, and in-depth interviews. The data validity test with the triangulation test is through the collection of data from the results of interviews and observations that have been made. The formulation of the problem that the author will examine is how service innovation is based on social inclusion at the Kebumen Regency Regional Archives and Library Office. The results showed that the Kebumen Regency Regional Archives and Library Service innovated library services based on social inclusion, for the innovations, namely Lampborgini services, namely the latest generation mobile car services, craft academy services, namely applicative activities by involving the community in workshop activities with topics according to books in the library, kupu- kupu malam service, namely mandatory visiting activities for kindergarten, elementary, junior high school children filled with various activities according to their talents and interests, cheerful library tourism movement services, smart services, community fair services, Jurassicpark services, rational services (literacy on alun-alun). Factors that support library activities in social inclusion-based library service innovation are budget, human resources, and technological developments. Abstract

This article aims to determine the urgency of the information literacy class for students at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong library. The development of information technology is no longer evolving, but it has become a mighty information revolution. For that, it takes the ability to filter out all the available information. The library is a provider and manager as well as an information ride, so librarians play an important role in providing information search guidance needed by librarians or students, the research method used a qualitative descriptive method by examining in depth a problem. The Collected data Techniques were interviews and literature studies. Interviews are conducted with student respondents, lecturers, and librarians. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that students need assistance and guidance in doing information literacy, so it needs to be held or held in an information literacy class. It is an effort of the library in providing information literacy services. The library in collaboration with the study program requires students to attend classroom literacy lectures. In this information literacy activity, the theme delivered adjusts to the needs of students, literacy themes that have been carried out include:1} e-journal search 2) Mendeley reference management, 3) plagiarism and 4) online presentation media.
