Abstract

The growth of information and communication technology (ICT) has changed the way people live their lives and conduct business. The era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, characterized by the use of digital technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), has created a new economic environment known as the “digital economy." In this context, digital economy policy becomes very important to support sustainable economic growth and improve national economic resilience. This research aims to analyze Indonesia's digital economy policy in developing the digital economy in the context of Society 5.0 and Industrial Revolution 4.0. The main focus of the research is how government policies can strengthen the national economy. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative method with secondary data collected through a systematic review. Data were collected from various scholarly sources, including relevant journals, research publications, reports, and websites. This qualitative approach generates descriptive notes and data that are integrated into the text for further analysis. When policies are implemented correctly, that is, by paying attention to and realizing the various aspects that have an impact on the policy implementation process, it will produce the maximum benefits, including the Integration, Interactivity, Transparency, Control, and Accountability (IITCA) factors. The research shows that digital economy policies have a significant positive impact on economic growth and resilience. The implementation of the Digital Economic Agreement Framework (DEFA) is expected to strengthen the MSME sector, attract investment, encourage innovation, increase productivity, and create high-quality jobs. The establishment of the Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Center (DISC) also plays an important role in supporting the transformation of businesses and organizations towards a sustainable digital economy. In addition, the Indonesian government has improved digital infrastructure, such as 4G networks, 5G technology, and low-earth orbit satellites, and launched digital literacy and skills programs to reduce the digital divide and strengthen economic resilience. An effective digital economy policy can be a powerful instrument to strengthen a country's economic resilience. Research results confirm that the implementation of digital economy policies not only drives economic growth but also improves social and financial inclusion. Collaboration between the public sector, the business world, and civil society is essential for the successful implementation of this policy. In addition, transparency and accountability in the implementation of digital policies, such as through the use of blockchain technology and digital payment systems, can reduce corruption and ensure that government assistance and support are well-targeted. Overall, digital economy policies play an important role in strengthening national economic resilience amid the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between military spending in Southeast Asia and Indonesia’s economic growth from 1990 to 2023, addressing the impact of defense expenditures on regional economic dynamics. The primary aim is to analyze how military spending, influenced by geopolitical and modernization factors, interacts with Indonesia’s economic performance, and to identify the long-term and short-term effects of this relationship. To achieve this, the study utilizes the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), employing data from SIPRI and the World Bank, and applying statistical techniques such as stationarity tests, cointegration analysis, Granger causality, and impulse response functions. The results reveal a significant long-term equilibrium relationship where Indonesia’s economic growth influences regional military spending, but not vice versa. Specifically, the analysis shows that while economic growth in Indonesia reduces ASEAN military expenditures over the long term, short-term dynamics highlight a notable impact of economic changes on defense budgets. Variance decomposition indicates that Indonesia’s economic growth increasingly drives variations in Southeast Asian military spending, with limited reciprocal effects. Based on these findings, the study recommends aligning military modernization with sustainable economic objectives through sound fiscal management, strategic technological investments, and strengthened regional cooperation. The research suggests that balancing national security concerns with economic development is crucial for optimal resource allocation. Future studies should further investigate how technological advancements and non-traditional security challenges influence the relationship between military spending and economic growth in the region.

Abstract

Information and communication technology is currently very important in the defense field, including in the development of tactical object monitoring systems for defense operations. One approach used is to apply the concept of object-oriented programming OOP using the Python programming language. This research uses data processing methods using the Python programming language with the help of Google Colab. In its implementation, this research creates two main classes, namely the Sensor Class and the Tactical Map Class. The Sensor Class functions to represent physical sensors in code form, with attributes of identity, location, and sensor status. The Tactical Map class serves as a representation of a tactical map used to manage and visualize objects, such as sensors, within a certain area. The development of a defense operation tactical object monitoring system by applying OOP concepts using the Python programming language has several benefits, such as easier system setup and maintenance, as well as the development of new features without disrupting existing functions. The application of OOP concepts using the Python programming language can be one of the effective approaches in developing a tactical object monitoring system for defense operations. This approach can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of military operations by utilizing modern technology, as well as provide various benefits in terms of system setup, maintenance, and development.
