Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to analyze the differences in Trading Volume Activity and Abnormal Return before and after the announcement of MUI Fatwa No.83 of 2023 on boycott target companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). With a population of 21 companies, a sample of 9 companies was obtained using purposive sampling techniques. This research is quantitative research in the form of an event study with an observation period of 11 days consisting of 5 days before, when it occurs, and 5 days after the event. This research uses secondary data obtained from the official website of the Indonesian Stock Exchange and Yahoo Finance. Based on the results of the significance test, researchers concluded that there were significant Abnormal Returns and Trading Volume Activity in the days surrounding the announcement. And by carrying out different tests, the researchers concluded that there was no difference in Abnormal Return and Trading Volume Activity before and after the announcement of MUI Fatwa No.83 of 2023. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan Trading Volume Activity dan Abnormal Return sebelum dan sesudah dikeluarkannya pengumuman Fatwa MUI No.83 Tahun 2023 pada perusahaan target boikot yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Dengan populasi sebanyak 21 perusahaan lalu diperoleh sampel sebanyak 9 perusahaan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif berupa event study dengan periode pengamatan selama 11 hari yang terdiri dari 5 hari sebelum, saat terjadinya, dan 5 hari setelah peristiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari website resmi Bursa Efek Indonesia dan yahoo finance. Berdasarkan hasil uji signifikansi peneliti penyimpulkan terdapat Abnormal Return dan Trading Volume Activity yang signifikan pada hari-hari disekitar pengumuman. Serta dilakukan uji beda maka peneliti penyimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan Abnormal Return dan Trading Volume Activity sebelum dan setelah dikeluarkannya pengumuman Fatwa MUI No.83 Tahun 2023.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with an extraordinary wealth of flora, one of which is water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) which has been known as an invasive aquatic weed. Recent studies have shown this plant has potential as a raw material for herbal medicine. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the pharmacological activity and phytochemical content of water hyacinth based on current scientific literature. The method used was journal search and selection from 2021 to 2025 through PubMed, Google Scholar and ResearchGate databases with the keywords “Eichhornia crassipes”, ‘pharmacology’, and “bioactivity”. The results review showed water hyacinth extract has anti-inflammatory activity through decreasing proinflammatory cytokines, antidiabetic through activating SUR-1, GLP-1R, AMPK, and OCT-1 receptors and antibacterial against Prevotella intermedia and Staphylococcus aureus. In addition, anticancer activity was demonstrated through binding of active compounds to MCF-7 cancer cell receptors, as well as cytoprotective activity against oxidative stress in rat liver cells.
