Abstract

The phenomenon of excessive frugal life is common in today's modern society. This raises interesting philosophical questions regarding the relationship between material wealth and spiritual value. This article aims to analyze this phenomenon through the perspective of the philosophy of materialism, specifically regarding the teachings of Matthew 6:21. The philosophy of materialism emphasizes the physical or material aspects of human life, including wealth, possessions, and the satisfaction of material needs. Referring to the teachings of Matthew 6:21, this article will also discuss the relationship between wealth and heart in the context of excessive frugality. By combining the philosophy of materialism and the theological aspects contained in the teachings of Matthew 6:21, this article seeks to provide insights into how excessive frugality affects views on wealth, happiness, and life values. We hope that this research can spark new discussions on how we view and respond to social phenomena in a world that is increasingly focused on the material aspects of everyday life.

Abstract

The world of education today, especially at the elementary school level, has a number of hot issues that need attention, related to difficulties in remembering the material that has been learned. It is likely that this issue is caused by a lack of variety in learning, lack of individualised support from educators, learning methods that are not in accordance with the interests of learners, material overload (too much material in 1 learning session), lack of learner involvement, lack of connection and context, and lack of facilities in learning. Teachers are agents of change who have a very important role in shaping and developing the potential of students including in improving students' memory. The purpose of this study is to make a significant contribution in the context of developing effective learning strategies at the primary school level. The practical implications of the findings indicate the importance of the integration of mnemonic methods in the curriculum to support the achievement of learning objectives and improve learners' memory.
