Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which the Education Management Information System (SIM Pendidikan) plays a role in improving student data management and the teaching-learning process at Sukma Bangsa High School in Lhokseumawe. In this study, qualitative methods were applied and data were collected through observation techniques and interviews with relevant resource persons. From the results of the study, it was revealed that the Education Management Information System (SIM Pendidikan), which includes SISTO and SIMAKA, has successfully integrated student data and curriculum management effectively. Although it is efficient in information management, challenges such as network limitations are still faced. However, planned evaluation efforts by the pusdatin team and system improvement plans have been identified to overcome these obstacles. Thus, SIM Pendidikan proved to make a valuable contribution in improving the effectiveness of student data management and learning processes at Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe High School. The results also highlighted the success of the Education SIM in improving parental engagement through online access to monitor the progress of their children's grades. Nonetheless, some technical constraints such as power outages or server problems are still a challenge, although pusdatin is actively addressing them. Planned evaluations by the pusdatin team are expected to improve the Education SIM by adding new features and making improvements based on the evaluation results. Although this process may be time-consuming, the system has proven to make a valuable contribution to teachers and school staff in completing their tasks more efficiently. The results of this study illustrate the importance of an Education SIM in an educational context.

Abstract

This study explores bullying at Dayah Terpadu Al-Muslimun, an Islamic boarding school in Indonesia. It focuses on its physical, verbal, and social forms and their impact on students' mental health, academic performance, and social well-being. The research addresses the prevalence of bullying in this religious context, driven by factors such as inadequate supervision, sociocultural differences, and limited awareness of its consequences. This study aims to (1) identify the dynamics of bullying, (2) analyze its effects on Santri, and (3) develop disciplinary strategies to foster a safer, more inclusive school environment. Using a phenomenological approach, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations with eight purposively selected participants (administrators, teachers, and students). Thematic analysis revealed that verbal bullying (e.g., derogatory remarks) and social exclusion were most prevalent, often resulting in emotional distress, disengagement from learning, and isolation. Recommended strategies include integrating anti-bullying education into the curriculum, enhancing supervision in high-risk areas, providing counseling services, and involving parents and the broader community. Challenges include limited resources, cultural acceptance of aggressive behavior, and victims' reluctance to report incidents. By addressing bullying within the unique context of a religious educational institution, this study offers culturally sensitive, practical recommendations for school administrators to cultivate a disciplined yet compassionate learning environment.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji sejauh mana Sistem Informasi Manajemen Pendidikan (SIM Pendidikan) berperan dalam peningkatan manajemen data siswa dan proses belajar-mengajar di SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe. Dalam penelitian ini, metode kualitatif diterapkan dan data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi dan wawancara dengan narasumber yang relevan. Dari hasil penelitian, terungkap bahwa Sistem Informasi Manajemen Pendidikan (SIM Pendidikan), yang mencakup SISTO dan SIMAKA, telah berhasil melakukan integrasi data siswa dan manajemen kurikulum dengan efektif. Meskipun efisien dalam pengelolaan informasi, tantangan seperti keterbatasan jaringan masih dihadapi. Namun, upaya evaluasi terencana oleh tim pusdatin dan rencana peningkatan sistem telah diidentifikasi untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut. Dengan demikian, SIM Pendidikan terbukti memberikan kontribusi yang berharga dalam meningkatkan efektivitas manajemen data siswa dan proses pembelajaran di SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe. Hasil penelitian juga menyoroti keberhasilan SIM Pendidikan dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua melalui akses online untuk memantau perkembangan nilai anak-anak mereka. Meskipun demikian, beberapa kendala teknis seperti pemadaman listrik atau masalah server masih menjadi tantangan, meskipun pusdatin secara aktif mengatasinya. Evaluasi terencana oleh tim pusdatin diharapkan dapat meningkatkan SIM Pendidikan dengan menambah fitur baru dan melakukan perbaikan berdasarkan hasil evaluasi. Meskipun proses ini mungkin memakan waktu, sistem ini telah terbukti memberikan kontribusi yang berharga bagi guru dan staf sekolah dalam menyelesaikan tugas-tugas mereka secara lebih efisien. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan pentingnya SIM Pendidikan dalam konteks pendidikan.
