Abstract

Background: Materials and modules, learning strategies and the implementation of learning in the field (practice field) correlates strongly with professional skill. One of the methods to increase participation, liveliness and skills student are learning method with the family approach in community midwifery practice. Family approach is expected to provide an effective learning experience for enhancing student competence. Currently, not all midwifery school implementing the approach as part of the activities in community midwifery practice. Yogyakarta academy of midwifery has implemented the family approach as a part of community midwifery practice.Purpose: To show the benefits and challenges of implementating active learning with the family approach in community midwifery practice.Research methods: qualitative study with focus group discussion and content analysis of student field work report. Data analysis using an explanatory building.Result and discussion: in their report, student wrote that they can find the problems in the family, think critically and creatively, practicing effective communication, approach and continuous care. In the focus group discussion, students explain how they feel happy with the famlily approach learning strategy. Its can proveide real experience for midwife in community setting. They felt this strategy would support their midwifery competencies, such as communication skills, problem solving, tend to be longlife learner. Perceived barriers were lack ot time setting to implementation family approach and ask to their lecturer.Conclussions and suggestions: family approach is fun learning activities for students and provide benefits for the improvement of midwifery skill competence in community setting. This strategy is expected to remain in community midwifery practice.Keywords: family approach, home visit, community midwifery

Abstract

Contributing factors in how women capable to make a decision about delivery care are attitude andincome factor that will shape their lifestyle, also husband support. People who have in both consumptiveand simple lifestyle assumed that giving birth with obstetrician is more save rather than midwife. Thisresearch is kualitatif and crossectional study, using stratified random sampling to figure out correlationbetween life style and husband support with women decision in their delivery care. Questionnaire havedistributed to 140 women who giving birth at private practice, public health center, clinic and hospital.This study reveals that most of women (60,7%) have a simple lifestyle while 39,3% categories asconsumptive lifestyle. There no significant correlation, refer to p-value of lifestyle is 0.226 and p-valueof husband support is 0.648. Woman who have good support from her husband tend to have a senseof coherence, in which influence on their attitude during pregnant and delivery. Inconclusion, mostwomen have a simple lifestyle, but there is no significant correlation in it. Most women have goodsupport from their husband, however there is no significant correlation to make a decision in theirdelivery care.Keywords: lifestyle, husband support, sense of coherence

Abstract

Background: The medical view of the entire maternal period calls into question the use of pathogenesisto frame maternity care services. Therefore, adopting a salutogenic model of maternal care can reducecare inequalities and improve the quality of maternity care provided. The concept of salutogenesis wasfirst introduced in the late 1970s by Antonovsky, who focused on the origins of good health rather thanthe origins of disease. Salutogenesis is an alternative school of thought that encourages healthcareprofessionals to adopt a more positive and health focused approach in providing perinatal care towomen. In the salutogenic approach, a woman's past experiences, both pleasant and unpleasant, arestrongly believed to contribute to her perception of life, well-being, and ability to cope with stressfulsituations such as the perinatal period.Objective: This study explores the topic of salutogenesis in obstetrics through the Google ScholardatabaseResearch Methods: This study uses bibliographic information from the Google Scholar article databasebetween 2000 and 2020 using a total sampling technique.
