Abstract

Micro, Small Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) is a general term that refers to productive economic businesses owned by individuals or business entities in accordance with the criteria stipulated by Law no. 20 of 2008. The pattern of integrated communication between leaders and the community is essential to accommodate the food self-sufficiency program as a green economy. The focus of this study describes how the communication pattern of opinion leaders is appropriate for the empowerment of MSMEs in the success of the green economy. The goal is to build a better communication pattern between leaders and the community of MSME actors in facing the challenges of the green economy. The research uses a case study paradigm with a qualitative approach. The research subjects are opinion leaders, the community, and local stakeholders. The location is MSMEs in Terondol Village, Serang, Banten, Indonesia. The results show that the communication pattern between the leaders and the community of MSMEs actors is with a more focused mentoring communication model from opinion leaders and stakeholders in developing more democratic group communication to its members. Top-down and bottom-up linear communication patterns need improvement and strengthening in order to provide correct understanding in communicating and developing MSMEs.

Abstract

One type of tourism that is interesting to note is cultural tourism with the concept of local wisdom. In Jatimulya, Bekasi Regency, West Java, there is a tourist attraction called Rumah Betawi Rawasapi which emphasizes the nuances of their local culture, namely the Betawi Tribe. Therefore, Rumah Betawi Rawasapi has a communication strategy to realize cultural tourism as well as being a place for preserving local wisdom. The purpose of this research is to explain and analyze the communication strategies contained in the Rumah Betawi Rawasapi in the preservation of local wisdom. This research uses a qualitative approach as a method or way to obtain research objectives. Meanwhile, the research subject is the administrator of the Rumah Betawi Rawasapi tourist attraction. The location of this research is at the Rumah Betawi Rawasapi tourist attraction which is located at Jalan Al Huda Rawasapi RT003, RW009, Jatimulya Village, South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The results show that there are five communication strategies at Rumah Betawi Rawasapi in preserving local wisdom as an object of cultural tourism, namely redundancy, canalizing, informative, persuasive, and educative.

Abstract

Commodification is the process of transforming use value into exchange value. The soap opera Si Doel Anak Sekolahan is the result of efforts to change from a use value that can entertain into an exchange value that brings financial benefits. These shows attract a large audience, which attractive to advertisers in various ways. This show is repeated every year from 2011 to 2023. This research uses a critical perspective by looking at the political economy of media. The concept of content commodification offered by Vincent Mosco became the scalpel for this research. Data for this study comes from the main source, namely the soap opera "Si Doel Anak Sekolahan" on RCTI. Meanwhile, additional data such as observations and documentation were obtained from literature studies, literature and internet searches. The results of research show that the soap opera drama series Si Doel Anak Sekolahan contains content commodification in the form of advertisements in the form of billboards, there are also advertisements in the form of squeeze frames. Media institutions have the power determine what programs will be made into new commodities on the television. Every program produced by media institution is a marriage between the economic system and the political system.

Abstract

Kampung Bali Bekasi is a tourist destination with elements of authentic Balinese culture in the city of Bekasi. This cultural tourism destination, which is more or less three years old, has attracted the interest of the public and the media to come and cover them. The enthusiasm of the people who came to visit there was mostly to treat their curiosity and share the moments there on the social media they used. However, this is not followed by the management of Kampung Bali Bekasi, which actually has an Instagram account as a medium of communication. However, it cannot be categorized as optimal because it does not produce audio-visual content there too often. Therefore, this activity aims to conduct training and assistance in making audio-visual media in preserving local culture and developing cultural tourism destinations in Kampung Bali Bekasi. This community service is carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach and narrative analysis. This activity resulted in two activities that were well received by the people of Kampung Bali Bekasi. First, training in making audio-visual media generates community understanding and knowledge on how to make good audio-visual content with the theme Kampung Bali Bekasi. Then the assistance in making audio visual media generates an understanding regarding the choice of social media and good forms of content so that Kampung Bali Bekasi can develop their cultural tourism destinations through social media.

Abstract

This study describes the Instagram account @Nge.review as one of the bookstagram accounts. Bookstagrammers are Instagram users who are obsessed with physical books where the object is the object in every upload on Instagram. Like other bookstagram accounts, each of these accounts has tens of thousands of followers and hundreds of uploads and, each upload has tens of thousands of likes. As one of the bookstagrammers, the owner and user here has differences with other bookstagram account users in the form of uploaded photos, the contents of the reviewed book reviews and the contents of the Instagram features contained in the account. The researcher aims to find the self-concept and character behind the habits that are shown through the contents of the account. This study uses a qualitative approach. On data search using interview techniques, observation and research documentation. Based on the research that has been done, it shows that the user as well as the owner of the @Nge.review Instagram account has a smart and imaginative self. The characters found in the user’s account that is, have an open personality.Keywords: Self concept, representation, character, Instagram ABSTRAKPenelitian ini menjelaskan akun Instagram @Nge.review sebagai salah satu akun bookstagram. Bookstagrammer adalah para pengguna Instagram yang terobsesi dengan buku fisik yang dimana benda tersebut menjadi objek dalam setiap unggahan di Instagram. Layaknya akun bookstagram lainnya, akun Instagram memiliki pengikut puluhan ribu dan ratusan unggahan serta, setiap unggahan ada yang memiliki belasan ribu likes. Sebagai salah satu bookstagrammer, pemiliki sekaligus penggunanya disini memiliki perbedaan dengan pengguna akun bookstagram lain dalam bentuk foto unggahan, isi ulasan buku yang diresensi serta, isi dari fitur-fitur Instagram yang terdapat pada akun. Peneliti bertujuan untuk mencari konsep diri dan karakter di balik kebiasaan yang diperlihatkan melalui isi dari akun tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pada pencarian data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi penelitian. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan hasil bahwa, pengguna sekaligus sebagai pemilik akun Instagram @Nge.review memiliki diri yang pintar dan imajinatif. Karakter yang ditemukan pada pengguna akun yaitu, memiliki pribadi yang terbuka. Kata Kunci: Konsep diri, representasi, karakter, Instagram

Abstract

Fotografi di Bekasi telah menjadi peranan penting dan alat komunikasi publik di semua bidang bisnis, ilmu pengetahuan, hiburan, seni budaya, dan lainnya. Melihat hal tersebut maka pentingnya melakukan sertifikasi kompetensi bagi para fotografer di Bekasi, bahwasanya sertifikasi dapat membangun kredibilitas para fotografer sehingga dapat menghasilkan karya-karya yang berkualitas dan kompeten dalam bidangnya. Maka dari itu APFI Pengcab Bekasi melakukan upaya dalam sosialisasi kegiatan dan komunikasi sebagai perencanaan dan pengarahan untuk mencapai suatu tujuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, yang didasarkan pada filsafat konstruktivisme. Penelitian ini memandang fenomena yang terjadi menggunakan konsep sosialisasi, komunikasi organisasi dan analisis SWOT. Dalam hal ini, peneliti berusaha menjelaskan bagaimana upaya dalam sosialisasi sertifikasi kompetensi yang dilakukan oleh APFI Pengcab Bekasi kepada fotografer Bekasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan upaya yang dilakukan APFI Pengcab Bekasi di antaranya adalah mengadakan kegiatan-kegiatan berbasis pelatihan fotografi, kegiatan pelatihan teori dan praktek fotografi, memberikan edukasi fotografi, kemudian melatih peningkatan keterampilan melalui lomba fotografi, serta menyediakan sarana dan prasarana untuk melakukan uji sertifikasi kompetensi dan bekerja sama dengan lembaga sertifikasi terkait. Kemudian komunikasi organisasi yang digunakan oleh APFI Pengcab Bekasi ini terbagi menjadi dua bagian, pertama komunikasi berdasarkan perilakunya yaitu komunikasi formal, komunikasi informal dan komunikasi nonformal. Lalu yang kedua, komunikasi berdasarkan ruang lingkupnya yaitu komunikasi internal (komunikasi ke atas dan komunikasi ke bawah) dan komunikasi eksternal.

Abstract

Bali is an area that has various types of traditional dance arts. Initially Balinese traditional dance was only based on worship and prayer, but now Balinese dance has developed into an art that is used as entertainment. The purpose of this research is to find out the cultural communication efforts of the Saraswati Bali Arts Institute (LKB) in preserving traditional Balinese dance in Bekasi City. This study uses a type of qualitative research. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. This research looks at the problem through a constructivism paradigm which seeks to explain a social phenomenon based on the views or experiences of the object under study. The results of this study show that LKB Saraswati has made efforts to preserve culture through organizing training at Pura Agung Tirta Bhuana Bekasi. In addition, LKB Saraswati relies on social media for documentation of training activities. LKB Saraswati also opens services for the needs of Balinese arts entertainment, such as wedding receptions using Balinese themes or concepts, opening of an event, or simply performing freelance dance at certain events or events. In addition, in this study it was found that there were communication barriers when carrying out conservation. Among them are frame of mind barriers and cultural barriers.

Abstract

The ogoh-ogoh tradition, which is closely associated with the Nyepi celebration, serves not only as a religious ritual but also as a symbol of tolerance and cultural interaction, particularly in Kampung Bali Bekasi. Although the majority of the residents in this area are not of Balinese descent, they actively participate in the ogoh-ogoh celebration, reflecting a process of acculturation and cultural openness. However, despite media coverage, the dissemination of information about this tradition remains limited and has yet to effectively reach a wider audience, especially the younger generation in the digital era. This study aims to analyze how the ogoh-ogoh tradition in Kampung Bali Bekasi serves as a symbol of tolerance and how digital communication contributes to its preservation. The research employs an ethnophenomenological approach, combining ethnographic communication studies and phenomenology. Data collection is conducted through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders and individuals involved in the ogoh-ogoh celebration. Documentation in the form of the film Bhuta Kala in Tolerance is also used as research data. The findings reveal that digital communication plays a crucial role in introducing and preserving the ogoh-ogoh tradition. Through platforms such as social media, communities can share cultural experiences and foster a broader cross-cultural understanding. Thus, this tradition not only serves as an educational medium but also strengthens social harmony in a multicultural environment.
