Abstract

Sedentary behavior is the behavior of individuals who do less movement and use little energy. This has become a problem in the world and Indonesia in this era of accelerating globalization. Especially for medical students, the academic demands of students make this behavior often occur among students. Medical students are required to have good academic grades to perform complex tasks making this behavior unavoidable. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of sedentary behavior to body mass index and waist circumference in students of the undergraduate study program of medicine and medical professionals, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University class of 2019-2020. This research was conducted using an analytical observational method with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study amounted to 93 students with a sampling technique that is simple random sampling. Sedentary behavior, body mass index, and waist circumference were measured using a questionnaire based on the respondents' memories that were distributed online. The results of the chi-square analysis showed a significant value between sedentary behavior and body mass index (p=0.013), but not with sedentary behavior and waist circumference (p=0.553). The results of this study are expected that students can reduce sedentary behavior and increase physical activity in order to avoid a bad body mass index status.

Abstract

The human need for clothing is increasing and developing over time. This also has an impact on convection tailors because convection tailors work in the same position for a long period of time and ultimately cause impacts such as low back pain in the future. This study aims to determine the prevalence dan severity level of low back pain in Citra Indah Konveksi tailors. The research design is descriptive observational with cross-sectional design where data collection is only done once for each respondent using primary data from a questionnaire. A total of 14 respondents were selected by purposive sampling or by considering inclusion and exclusion. The results of this study showed that of the 14 respondents who were included in the inclusion criteria, low back pain had the greatest incidence in female respondents (55.5%), with normoweight and obese BMI (33.3%), age range 41-55 (66,6%). Most of the were experiencing non radiating pain (55,6%), acute low back pain (88,9%), and they are in category of mild disability (55,6%). Respondents who were included in the inclusion criteria in this study, there were 9 respondents (64,2%) experienced low back pain and who had a severity level with no disability of 2 respondents (11.1%), mild disability of 5 respondents (55.6%), moderate disability of 1 respondent (11.1%), severe disability of 1 respondent (11.1 %). Abstract

Latar Belakang: Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) adalah rasa tidak nyaman yang dirasakan pada bagian otot skelet dengan variasi keluhan ringan hingga berat. Rasa tidak nyaman ini dapat diakibatkan oleh posisi statis yang diterima oleh otot. Sikap kerja statis pada pengrajin tenun dengan waktu lama dapat menimbulkan terjadinya keluhan pada otot di bagian tertentu. Tujuan: Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keluhan MSDs pada pengrajin tenun di Dian’s Rumah Songket dan Endek, Desa Gelgel, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali. Metode: Metode penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan desain studi potong lintang (cross sectional). Pengambilan data dilakukan hanya satu kali pada setiap responden. Hasil dan Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengrajin tenun yang mengalami keluhan ringan sebanyak 35 responden (77,8%) dan keluhan sedang sebanyak 10 responden (22,2%). Dari hasil uji statistik menggunakan Chi Square pada pengrajin tenun didapatkan postur kerja (p=0,031), durasi kerja (p=0,040), usia (p=0,041), indeks massa tubuh (p=0,612), dan masa kerja (p=0,040). Keluhan MSDs pada pengrajin tenun di Dian’s Rumah Songket dan Endek, Desa Gelgel, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu postur kerja, durasi kerja, usia, dan masa kerja.
