Abstract

Regarding the development of agricultural land management, the muzāra'ah contract scheme is considered the most suitable and fair contract, and in accordance with sharia principles. However, in its implementation, many problems arise between sharecroppers and land owners. From the initial survey that the author conducted with Basril, one of the chili farmers in Taeh Baruah Village, it was found that sharing the results of the land, especially in chili farming, tends to cause disharmony in social interactions due to because sharecroppers are not professional, transparency is weak. Based on this phenomenon, the author conducted an in-depth study regarding benchmarks for the benefits of muzāra'ah and ijārah contracts in agricultural land management using the Maqasid Syariah approach. From the measurement results, it was found that currently in Nagari Taeh Baruah, the use of an ijārah contract in terms of agricultural land cooperation is the most beneficial contract compared to the muzāra'ah contract. This is due to the community's habit of carrying out cooperation in the agricultural sector only verbally, and the level of honesty of some farmers is still low, which tends to result in social disharmony among chili farmers in Nagari Taeh Baruah.

The data analysis technique is by systematically compiling data obtained from interviews, field notes, and documentation, by organizing data into categories, breaking down into units, synthesizing, compiling in patterns, choosing which ones are important and will be studied, and making conclusions. Findings. The results of this study indicate that the management of cash waqf management has not gone well, this is indicated by the amount of cash waqf collection which continues to decline every year, and the collection is still within the internal scope. In an effort to develop productive waqf, the Wihdatul Ummah Batusangkar Islamic Education and Da'wah Foundation has opened Qurrata A'yun mart and invested funds in new student admissions (PMB) in the procurement of clothing. While the inhibiting factor is that the socialization efforts carried out by the nazir regarding cash waqf to the community are not optimal, this is also due to the limited understanding of the community and inadequate human resources.

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of Islamic films in Indonesia using a literature review approach, focusing on the interaction between Islamic spiritual values and commercialization in the film industry. With the growing demand for religious content, Islamic films have emerged as a significant genre that both educates and entertains. However, the main challenge is maintaining spiritual integrity amid the pressures of commercialization that dominate the entertainment industry. This research explores how Islamic films depict moral themes, cultural identity, and religious teachings, while also questioning the impact of commercialization on their spiritual messages. The findings show that while there are efforts to convey positive values, some films tend to commodify spirituality to attract audiences. This study emphasizes the importance of awareness and commitment from filmmakers to create works that are not only commercially successful but also authentic in delivering Islamic messages. The results are expected to provide insights for the film industry in developing more meaningful Islamic films that support the spiritual identity of Muslims in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research focuses on Islamic philanthropy in Minangkabau and its contribution to building social solidarity through the integration of local customs and religion. The method used is a literature review, collecting data from relevant articles, books, and case studies. The purpose of this study is to explore how Minangkabau traditional values, such as "gotong royong" (mutual cooperation) and "badunsanak" (kinship solidarity), play a role in facilitating philanthropic practices. The findings indicate that these local traditions, combined with Islamic teachings, strengthen social bonds and enhance community welfare. Furthermore, the role of women in managing family resources and the contributions of organizations like Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama help reinforce structured philanthropic practices. Education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) also plays a crucial role in instilling philanthropic values in the younger generation. In conclusion, Islamic philanthropy based on local customs in Minangkabau not only strengthens social solidarity but also contributes to poverty alleviation and community well-being.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing the Net Profit Margin (NPM) of Islamic banks in Indonesia, focusing on risk aversion (CAP), default risk (NPF), liquidity (FDR), and operational size (SIZE). The research aims to explore how these variables affect profitability in the Indonesian Islamic banking sector. The study uses balanced panel data from Islamic banks over the period 2014–2023 and applies panel regression analysis to examine the relationships between the variables. The findings indicate that risk aversion negatively affects NPM, while liquidity and operational size have a positive influence on NPM. Default risk does not significantly impact NPM. Additionally, the study includes a dummy variable for the COVID-19 pandemic, which shows a negative effect on NPM, reflecting the adverse impact of the pandemic on bank margins. This research contributes to the literature on the determinants of profitability in Islamic banking by providing new insights into how risk aversion, default risk, liquidity, and operational size influence NPM, particularly during periods of economic disruption

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strengthening of the Islamic philanthropy ecosystem through collaboration between media, Islamic institutions, and society, with a focus on the role of media in reinforcing Islamic philanthropic values in the digital age. In this context, both traditional and digital media are identified as highly influential forces in expanding reach and encouraging public participation in philanthropic activities. However, this study also highlights the primary challenge of misrepresenting the principles of Islamic philanthropy in mainstream media, which often obscures the public’s understanding of the broader characteristics and goals of charity in Islam beyond just financial donations. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing various related literature such as scholarly articles, research reports, and books on Islamic philanthropy, media, and community involvement. This research also explores the potential of social media as a tool to broaden the reach of philanthropy, particularly among the youth, as well as the importance of transparency and accountability in digital-based philanthropic campaigns. The findings of this research suggest that effective collaboration between media, Islamic institutions, and society can create a greater social impact, raise awareness about the importance of philanthropy, and increase participation in charitable activities. However, to achieve these goals, the use of media must be done wisely and ethically, with a focus on creating authentic narratives and managing transparency. This study provides new insights into how such collaboration can strengthen the Islamic philanthropy ecosystem in the modern era.
