Abstract

Regarding the development of agricultural land management, the muzāra'ah contract scheme is considered the most suitable and fair contract, and in accordance with sharia principles. However, in its implementation, many problems arise between sharecroppers and land owners. From the initial survey that the author conducted with Basril, one of the chili farmers in Taeh Baruah Village, it was found that sharing the results of the land, especially in chili farming, tends to cause disharmony in social interactions due to because sharecroppers are not professional, transparency is weak. Based on this phenomenon, the author conducted an in-depth study regarding benchmarks for the benefits of muzāra'ah and ijārah contracts in agricultural land management using the Maqasid Syariah approach. From the measurement results, it was found that currently in Nagari Taeh Baruah, the use of an ijārah contract in terms of agricultural land cooperation is the most beneficial contract compared to the muzāra'ah contract. This is due to the community's habit of carrying out cooperation in the agricultural sector only verbally, and the level of honesty of some farmers is still low, which tends to result in social disharmony among chili farmers in Nagari Taeh Baruah.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the key sectors in the global and national economy. In Indonesia, agricultural activities include various agricultural production, processing, marketing and distribution activities. One group that is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of the agricultural sector is management students. However, in reality management students' interest in a career in agriculture is relatively low. This research aims to determine the influence of education and training on interest in a career in agribusiness among management students using quantitative methods with a survey approach. The research results show that education and training have a significant simultaneous influence on career interest in agribusiness. These findings also show that education and training explain 15. 8% of the variation in career interest, while the remaining 84. 2% is influenced by other factors not included in the study. Although significant effects were found, the ability of education and training to explain variability in career interests is still limited. This study highlights the need for further research to explore additional factors influencing career interest in agriculture among management students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of Islamic films in Indonesia using a literature review approach, focusing on the interaction between Islamic spiritual values and commercialization in the film industry. With the growing demand for religious content, Islamic films have emerged as a significant genre that both educates and entertains. However, the main challenge is maintaining spiritual integrity amid the pressures of commercialization that dominate the entertainment industry. This research explores how Islamic films depict moral themes, cultural identity, and religious teachings, while also questioning the impact of commercialization on their spiritual messages. The findings show that while there are efforts to convey positive values, some films tend to commodify spirituality to attract audiences. This study emphasizes the importance of awareness and commitment from filmmakers to create works that are not only commercially successful but also authentic in delivering Islamic messages. The results are expected to provide insights for the film industry in developing more meaningful Islamic films that support the spiritual identity of Muslims in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the culture of sharing in Islamic philanthropy, particularly the practice of generosity among Muslim communities, using a qualitative approach through literature review. The aim is to understand how the culture of sharing, social character, and local religious and cultural values influence the collection and distribution of zakat and charity. Findings indicate that the culture of sharing in Muslim societies significantly contributes to increased awareness and participation in philanthropic activities. Communities that uphold the values of solidarity and mutual assistance are more active in collecting and distributing zakat and charity, creating strong social networks. The analysis of social and cultural character reveals that local norms, such as the tradition of helping one another, influence patterns of generosity and strengthen social bonds among community members. Furthermore, religious values, including sincerity and the obligation of zakat, serve as primary motivations for individuals to engage in philanthropy. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating religious values and local culture into charitable programs, where philanthropic institutions that consider community needs are more likely to succeed in attracting participation. The findings are expected to serve as a foundation for developing policies and strategies to strengthen philanthropic practices in Muslim communities and enhance solidarity and social welfare. Additionally, this study suggests the need for further exploration of the relationship between the culture of sharing and the effectiveness of philanthropy in a broader context. Keywords: Culture of Sharing, Islamic Philanthropy, Generosity, Muslim Community

Abstract

Cross-sector collaboration between the government, philanthropy, and local communities is key to enhancing welfare in marginalized areas. This research employs qualitative methods through a literature review to analyze the role of this collaboration in creating policies and programs that are more responsive to community needs. The findings indicate that active involvement of local communities in welfare initiatives is crucial for the success and sustainability of these programs. This involvement fosters a sense of ownership and accountability, as well as strengthening transparency and feedback between the government and the community. However, cross-sector collaboration faces challenges such as the lack of structured platforms, communication issues, and differing priorities. To address these barriers, it is essential to establish formal mechanisms for collaboration, build effective communication channels, and engage all stakeholders in open dialogue. Community-based approaches also contribute to more relevant and effective solutions for social issues. These findings highlight the importance of fair and inclusive collaboration to create sustainable and responsive welfare systems in society.

Abstract

This research focuses on Islamic philanthropy in Minangkabau and its contribution to building social solidarity through the integration of local customs and religion. The method used is a literature review, collecting data from relevant articles, books, and case studies. The purpose of this study is to explore how Minangkabau traditional values, such as "gotong royong" (mutual cooperation) and "badunsanak" (kinship solidarity), play a role in facilitating philanthropic practices. The findings indicate that these local traditions, combined with Islamic teachings, strengthen social bonds and enhance community welfare. Furthermore, the role of women in managing family resources and the contributions of organizations like Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama help reinforce structured philanthropic practices. Education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) also plays a crucial role in instilling philanthropic values in the younger generation. In conclusion, Islamic philanthropy based on local customs in Minangkabau not only strengthens social solidarity but also contributes to poverty alleviation and community well-being.

Abstract

This study examines the commodification of religion and structural tensions in Islamic housing finance in Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Despite its rapid growth, Islamic housing frequently encounters a paradox between religious claims and market logic, where Islamic symbols are leveraged as marketing strategies rather than ensuring substantive justice. This article analyzes the factors driving middle-class Muslim preferences for Islamic housing and the power imbalances between developers and consumers in Sharīʿah-compliant transactions. Employing a socio-legal qualitative approach, the research draws on in-depth interviews with 10 stakeholders (developers and buyers) and an analysis of contractual documents and promotional materials from the Perumahan Syariah Residence. Three primary motivations for purchasing emerge: religious adherence (particularly usuryavoidance), economic considerations (flexible payment schemes), and the preference for religiously homogeneous communities. However, the findings reveal critical tensions: while istisnāʿ (manufacture-sale) contracts disproportionately burden developers with financial risks, ijārah muntahiyah bi tamlīk (lease-to-own) arrangements often marginalize consumers’ legal standing. The Islamic label frequently functions as a branding tool rather than a guarantee of justice, reinforcing spatial segregation among middle-class Muslims. This study argues that without business model reformulation and regulatory oversight, Islamic housing risks prioritizing commercial interests over the principles of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah (the objectives of Islamic law). The findings underscore the necessity of standardized contracts and risk mitigation mechanisms to align practice with Islamic values.
