Abstract

The relationship between investor sentiment and market dynamics is a highly intriguing research topic for both academics and the financial industry. By using Spearman rank correlation analysis, this paper aims to explore investors’ decision-making behavior (rational and irrational) on stock returns during and after the COVID-19 outbreak. While irrational factors of the study were measured by the Google Search Volume Index and trading volume, rational factors were measured by profitability and size. The study used three different characteristics of subsectors manufacturing industry namely Food and Beverage, Pharmacy, and Cigarettes that are listed in the Indonesia Stock Market. To the best of our knowledge, our study is the first to examine and compare the level of rationality of investors in a wide range of industries and sectors during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Our finding supports the notion that both sentiments have an effect on stock returns indicating that cognitions, emotions, and the noise of traders still have an impact on the market. While overall rational sentiment has a more significant correlation with stock returns during the economic recovery phase, there was a highly significant correlation between irrational factors and stock returns during pandemic uncertainty conditions. Moreover, investors tend to be irrational and overreact when making investment decisions in Cigarette sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. In contrast, after the pandemic, the correlation of rational sentiment of investors toward the Pharmacy industry is still higher than others.

Rattan furniture is one of the superior craft products in Malang City, especially in the Balearjosari Village area, Blimbing District. Abstract

The high sensitivity of investors to stock trading activities raises concerns that more and more investors are at risk of not understanding when is the right time to sell and buy stocks. This study introduces a new approach to comprehensively examine how male and female investors in Indonesia make better and more informed decisions by utilizing their understanding in the context of the digital era, especially during bearish and bullish markets. The central role of Gender will play an important role in facilitating the relationship between digital stock trading literacy and capital market discipline. An empirical online survey with a sample of 343 respondents in Indonesia is used as valid data in this study. Using the PLS-MGA model, our findings show the moderating role of Gender significantly found that digital stock trading literacy is able to influence market discipline in male and female investor groups, although male investors show a stronger influence than female investors. Male investors who have higher levels of digital stock trading literacy tend to be more disciplined in the market, while female investors, despite having high literacy, do not show the same market discipline due to other influencing factors.

Abstract

The issuer believes that with the high stock price, it can make investors uninterested. Therefore, efforts that can be made by conducting a stock split which is based on the Trading Range Theory where the market assumes that by conducting a stock split it can keep stocks from being too expensive and more investors will invest. Signaling Theory states that a stock split is a tool for conveying more information about the company's prospects. This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the comparison of Trading Volume Activity and Abnormal Return before and after the stock split announcement. The results of the Wilcoxon signed ranks test on the average Trading Volume Activity five days before and five days after the Stock split showed that there was a significant difference, while the results of the Paired Sample T-test for Abnormal Return showed a difference five days before and five days after the stock split. Based on the results of the study above, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in Trading Volume Activity and Abnormal Return before and after the Stock Split. The suggestion that can be conveyed in this study is that not all information provided is valuable information so investors need to be able to sort out information as a consideration in decision making

Abstract

Wonoayu Village has the potential to produce a considerable amount of fruits. Despite having abundant natural resources, the community is still constrained in how to utilize the fruit to be processed into valuable food products other than processed chips which are very common in Malang City. Products that are sold raw have low economic value. For this reason, we conducted counseling on fruit candy processing as an alternative to processed products other than chips by making processed food without preservatives which can be a product that can be sold. Financially independent communities are expected to contribute to advancing the village. The implementation methods used are socialization, education, training, mentoring and evaluation. Based on the results of community service activities, it can be concluded that the implementation of this community service activity went smoothly according to plan. This community service activity is able to make processed candy from fruit without preservatives. In addition, the community can make product packaging and marketing strategies through Instagram, marketplace, and WA Business. Fruit candy becomes a processed product that can be sold and brings profit.

Abstract

Kaliasem Hamlet is one of the hamlets in Kalipare Village, Malang Regency that is experiencing problems with the absence of environmentally friendly coconut fiber waste processing facilities, the local community only utilizes coconut fiber for burning media as a substitute for charcoal. This condition results in the accumulation of coir waste around people's homes and farmers' gardens, whereas in fact this waste can be managed sustainably so that it can be reused and can also provide added value economically. Some of the advantages of coconut fiber are that it has ten times higher water absorption capacity than soil, increases oxygen circulation for plant roots, contains nutrients, potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, boron, and zinc. The approach method used in this community service is socialization, counseling, training, and evaluation to the community of Kaliasem Hamlet, which involves all housewives of Kaliasem Hamlet. With these methods, it allows the villagers to share, improve and analyze their knowledge about the condition and life of the village, make plans and act. This service activity provides a solution to the partner's problem, namely by training and mentoring farming community groups, besides that the community knows and recognizes the processing of coconut fiber into cocopeat as a hydroponic planting medium. Besides being able to increase income, it can also meet nutritional needs from cultivated organic vegetables and create an environmentally conscious community through waste that can be processed more optimally.
