Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of work motivation and work discipline on the performance of taechers who were working at several junior high schools in Kembangan prefecture, and to see the impacts of teacher’s performance and improvement that affects students, in which the practice of human resource management was reviewed empirically in the field of education and for the surrounding environment. This study uses a cause and effect approach to explain the influence between variables that were identified where the survey is conducted using a research  instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis in this study uses quantitative statistical analysis in nature with the aim for testing the predetermined hypothesis.The SPSS 22 software was used for the data processing and data analysis. The data from 150 teachers were collected from several private junior high schools in Kembangan prefecture. The sampling technique was used as a quota sampling. This study used the normality test, hesteroskodesticity, and multicollinearity. The data analysis was analyzed using the multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: There was a positive and significant influence between work motivation and work discipline among teachers on their performance together. Partially there was a positive and significant influence between work motivation on teacher performance. Partially there was a positive and significant influence between teachers’ work discipline on teachers’ performance. The above results proved that the increase in work motivation and work discipline among teachers we have observed, and the teacher’s performance have also increased. Keywords: Work Motivation, Work Discipline, Teacher Performance

Abstract

AbstractThis case study evaluates the effectiveness of an outdoor learning program in enhancing high school students' understanding of sustainable tourism at Daarut Tauhiid Eco Pesantren in Bandung, Indonesia. The qualitative research utilized observations, interviews, and documentation to assess the outdoor learning program which involved field trips to tourism destinations and interactive activities. The results indicate the outdoor learning program was effective in increasing students' comprehension of sustainable tourism principles, raising environmental awareness, and promoting active participation in sustainable tourism activities. Students developed deeper understandings of tourism impacts on the environment, culture and local economies. They exhibited more environmentally-friendly behaviors and initiative in community tourism projects after completing the program. While the program faced challenges like limited time and resources, the school implemented strategies such as curriculum integration, stakeholder partnerships, and continuous evaluation to overcome these obstacles. The outdoor, experiential learning approach showed potential for developing the knowledge, skills and values needed for a more sustainable tourism industry workforce. Implications include the need for wider adoption of outdoor learning in sustainable tourism education through school-industry-community collaboration. Further research could explore long-term impacts on graduates' sustainable tourism practices. Abstract

The role of local communities in the development of Rengganis Campsite in Ciwidey, West Java. This research uses a qualitative analysis method using data from interviews with tourism managers and local communities that involved. The results of this study explain that local communities contribute to environmental preservation, tourism promotion and sustainable management efforts to increase the potential of these attractions. The involvement of local communities in tourism development is very important to achieve the goal of sustainable tourism development. In addition, this research discusses coordination and active participation between the government, tourism industry players, and local communities. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the role of local communities in the development of tourism objects as well as the assessment of good governance principles. Keywords: Local community, Qualitative analysis, Community empowerment, Governance principles Abstrak Peran masyarakat lokal dalam pengelolaan suatu daya tarik yang berbasis masyarakat sangatlah penting, khususnya di Rengganis Campsite Ciwidey, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif dengan menggunakan data dari hasil wawancara kepada pengelola wisata dan masyarakat lokal yang terlibat. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kontribusi masyarakat dalam pelestarian lingkungan, promosi pariwisata dan upaya pengelolaan berkelanjuan untuk meningkatkan potensi obyek wisata tersebut. Keterlibatan masyarakat lokal dalam pengembangan pariwisata dianggap sangat penting untuk mencapai tujuan pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan. Selain itu, penelitian ini membahan koordinasi dan partisipasi aktif antara pemerintah, pelaku industri pariwisata dan masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang peran masyarakat lokal dalam pengembangan obyek wisata serta penerapan prinsip tata kelola yang baik.
