Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Quizizz application on students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics on exponents and root forms at Muhammadiyah 48 Medan Private Middle School. The background to this research focuses on the low interest and learning outcomes of students in mathematics subjects, which are often considered difficult and boring by many students. The method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental research design, namely one group pretest posttest design where the sample consists of 50 students selected using total sampling techniques. The results of the research show that there is a significant increase in student interest and learning outcomes after using the Quizizz application, namely scores The average interest in learning mathematics after using the Quizizz application is 76.54 with a gain value in the medium category of 0.448 and the average score for learning mathematics after using the Quizzizz application is 78.60 with a gain value in the medium category 0.478. The paired sample t-test produced a significance value of less than 0.05, namely 0.001, indicating that the use of the Quizizz application was effective in increasing students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics. So it can be concluded that the integration of technology in learning, especially through the Quizizz application, has been proven to be able to make mathematics learning more interesting, fun and interactive, thereby increasing students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

Abstrak. Melihat penurunan proses belajar di era modern ini membuat para siswa menjadi kecanduan game serta motivasi belajarnya menurun maka dari itu peneliti melakukan analisis terhadap motivasi belajar pembelajaran di sekolah memiliki tujuan untuk memajukan pendidikan di Indonesia terutama pada mata pelajaran matematika. Pada matematika, penalaran lebih ditekankan dalam aktivitas bidang rasio, tidak hanya memprioritaskan pada kesimpulan eksperimen atau kesimpulan observasi tetapi terbentuk dikarenakan pikiran manusia yang berhubungan dengan pendapat proses dan penalaran. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika masih sangat rendah. Alasannya karena guru masih menjadikan para siswanya sebagai tujuan saja, siswa hanya berfokus mencatat dan mendengarkan ceramah materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Kata Kunci. Seeing the decline in the learning process in this modern era makes students addicted to games and their learning motivation decreases, therefore researchers conducted an analysis of learning motivation in schools with the aim of advancing education in Indonesia, especially in mathematics. In mathematics, reasoning is more emphasized in the activities of the ratio field, not only prioritizing experimental conclusions or observation conclusions but is formed due to the human mind associated with opinion processes and reasoning. In this study using quantitative methods. The results of this study can be concluded that students' motivation to learn mathematics is still very low. The reason is because the teacher still makes the students the only goal, students only focus on taking notes and listening to the material lectures delivered by the teacher. Keywords.
