Abstract

Pembelajaran fotosintesis dengan percobaan Ingenhousz sering dilakukan dengan praktikum untuk mengembangkan penguasaan konsep, namun untuk kemampuan literasi kuantitatif jarang dikembangkan sehingga sejauh ini hanya dapat menghasilkan data yang bersifat kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian adalah rekontruksi percobaan Ingenhousz untuk menganalisis pengaruh suhu serta faktor ekternal yang mempengaruhi laju fotosintesis menggunakan kit fotosintesis bermuatan literasi kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu merupakan salah satu faktor lingkungan yang dapat mempengaruhi fotosintesis, hal ini disebabkan karena adanya aktivitas fotosintesis sensitif terhadap tekanan yang disebabkan oleh suhu. Suhu 40-50℃ merupakan suhu optimum tanaman atau tumbuhan dapat melakukan fotosintesis ketika cahaya matahari yang diterimanya kurang, sehingga tanaman tetap dapat melakukan proses fotosintesis maksimal. Selain itu, suhu juga sangat berpengaruh terhadap jumlah oksigen terlarut di dalam air. Semakin tinggi suhu, kandungan oksigen dalam air semakin berkurang, sedangkan kebutuhan organisme akan oksigen semakin besar.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are a common issue faced by students, with stress being a significant contributing factor.  One psychological treatment that has been shown to effectively reduce stress is Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction (IBSR). The objective of this study is to integrate IBSR into a discovery learning strategy in Biology in the classroom, with the aim of increasing students' learning motivation and knowledge construction while reducing their learning difficulties and cognitive anxiety. This is quasi-experimental research that used a post-test non-equivalent control group design. The study involved 72 11th-grade science students from two different classes at one of the public high schools in Bandung City. One class, consisting of 36 students, received IBSR treatment, while the other class, also consisting of 36 students, did not. Both classes used a discovery learning framework for teaching. Data on motivation, learning difficulties, and cognitive anxiety were collected using a rating scale questionnaire with eight scales. Students' ability to construct knowledge was measured using the German Cognitive Load (GCL) instrument in the form of a written test with indicators taken from Mayer's cognitive taxonomy (2002) in the realm of understanding. The study found that incorporating IBSR techniques into learning strategies for the immune system material can reduce student stress and improve learning performance, motivation, and knowledge construction (GCL), while also decreasing learning difficulties and cognitive anxiety.

Abstract

Background: Learning biology has material and concepts that must be understood by students, besides that there is material that is abstract in nature which makes students feel difficult in understanding it. This can cause student academic stress during the biology learning process. Students who experience stress will certainly feel a loss in the field of learning if they are not able to manage stress quickly and adequately. This research was conducted by analyzing the level of academic stress caused by five factors, namely motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, the education system, and teachers. Academic stress experienced by students is then categorized into three categories, namely mild stress, moderate stress, and severe stress. Methods: The research method used was a survey (expost facto) with instruments in the form of a questionnaire with nine choice scales and interviews. The population in this study were teenage students aged 16-18 years with a sample of 54 students from 3 schools with certain characteristics. Results: The results showed that students experienced academic stress caused by five factors, but with different categories. Students who experience academic stress in the severe category are generally caused by factors of motivation, self-confidence, the education system and teachers. Conclusion: While the anxiety factor only causes academic stress in the mild and moderate categories.
