Abstract

There is always problem of change order during the implementation of the project, either in first, middle, or the last project which involves the service user and the service provider. In every construction projects, there is always changing which called as change order (Jaydeep, et al, 2015). The change order could directly increase the cost of the project because of the additional material and volume, conflict of implementation schedule, rework, increase the overhead and increase the employees’ fee (Hanna, et al, 1999). The aim of this research is to find the causative factors of change order and identify the dominant factors which cause the change order which influences the time performance of the national bridge project. The data collecting technique of this research used survey and the previous research. The analysis method that was used to find the dominant factors was Partial Least Square (PLS). There are 28 dominant factors the cause of change order which influences the time performance on national road project. From the 28 dominant factors, they will divide in to 3 factor groups.

Abstract

E-waste is all objects included in a wide variety of electronic devices and their developments ranging from large household electronic equipment such as refrigerators, air conditioners, cell phones, stereo systems, and other consumptive electronic devices, to computers that are discarded by their owners. This study aims to determine the potential amount of used electronic goods (E-Waste), the amount of electronic waste generation, electronic waste management and the potential value of electronic waste recycling generated by the community which if not managed will cause a negative impact on the environment and public health of Pamengkang Village, Kramatwatu District. The type of research used is descriptive and qualitative research with research techniques using surveys. This research uses literature and field research such as interviews, observations and questionnaires. with a sample of 32 respondents, the sampling technique using quota sampling. research data processing was carried out using SPSS tools. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the most electronic waste generated by the community was a TV as many as 7 (21.9%) and a fan as many as 7 (21.9%) and for the management of electronic waste the most done by respondents, namely electronic waste management by storing 23 (71.9%). As for the highest recycling value of electronic waste in Pamengkang Village, namely electronic materials at a price of Rp. 30,000, -.

Abstract

Building materials in architecture are usually applied in exteriors which include building facades, furniture in room interiors, or construction planning activities such as road infrastructure, for example road paving work, landscape work. In general, building materials are obtained from wood, concrete and steel. . Along with technological developments, building materials are also obtained from recycled materials, such as from household waste recycling management. Some waste that cannot be decompo sed is dangerous and toxic waste which we call B3 Waste (Hazardous and Toxic Materials). The study of the use of household hazardous waste as building materials can be applied in the exterior grouping which includes building facades, construction planning activities such as road infrastructure, for example road paving work, landscape and interior work which includes room furniture, and room decoration accessories as space aesthetics. The research method used is a qualitative method, which uses data collection techniques by conducting interviews, observations and questionnaires. with a sample of 33 respondents to then be analyzed descriptively regarding existing theories based on literature to see the achievements of aspects of the use of household hazardous waste as building materials in Pamengkang Village, Kramatwatu District, Serang Regency. The results of this research show that there are 3 building materials produced from solid B3 waste in the Pamengkang Village area, Kramatwatu, Serang, namely: Plastic, Glass, and Metal (Aluminum & Iron). These materials can be used in exteriors & building interiors according to their respective management methods (reuse and recycle.

Abstract

The increase in odor levels from the Cilowong Final Waste Disposal Site (TPSA), Serang, Banten, has had a negative impact on air quality and the health of the surrounding community. This community service activity aims to develop an early warning system based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gas sensor technology to monitor in real time emissions of odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia (NH₃), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This system is designed to analyze environmental data patterns using machine learning and provide early warnings to the public through a digital platform based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The development process refers to the CRISP-DM method in data processing and predictive modeling (Wirth & Hipp, 2000), and uses electrochemical-based sensors that have been proven effective in environmental monitoring (Kim et al., 2021). The implementation results show that the system is able to improve the community's rapid response to potential odor hazards and support decision-making by environmental managers. This innovation is a strategic step to encourage sustainable environmental management and protect public health from exposure to air pollutants.

Abstract

Human resources play a very important role, according to a report from the World Economic Forum (2020), around 60% of the total construction project costs are allocated to labor costs. Apart from that, the construction industry also has to compete with other sectors that offer more attractive salaries and working conditions. A study by McKinsey & Company (2017). Selection is the process of evaluating candidates to determine whether they are qualified for the position offered. According to Schmidt and Hunter (1998), effective selection can improve employee performance and reduce turnover rates. Many workers are unfamiliar with new technology and find it difficult to adapt. Innovation in recruitment and selection is also the key to the company's success in facing challenges in the construction sector. By adopting new technologies and more effective selection methods, companies can improve the quality of their workforce and ensure the success of future projects. By understanding the challenges faced and implementing best practices in recruitment and selection, companies can attract and retain a quality workforce.

Abstract

Harjatani Heritage Estate is a residential area located in Margatani Village, Serdang, Kramatwatu, Serang Regency. One of the main issues in this housing area is the poorly organized wastewater drainage system, caused by inadequate drainage flow in the surrounding environment, which has the potential to pollute the area with domestic wastewater. Domestic wastewater, commonly referred to as greywater, originates from household activities such as bathing, washing, and kitchen use. Waste management, both domestic and industrial, remains a serious environmental challenge in Indonesia. One alternative approach to addressing this issue is through natural wastewater management integrated into sustainable architectural planning for environmental health. This study employs a qualitative research method using observational techniques and data analysis. The analysis includes site conditions, surrounding environmental characteristics, and landscape planning as an application of sustainable architecture principles, supported by AutoCAD-based design exploration and interviews with local community representatives. The results indicate that landscape planning plays a significant role in supporting sustainable architecture as an environmentally responsive solution for domestic wastewater management.

Abstract

Abstract A sluice gate is a supporting structure in a dam, reservoir, river, gutter or ditch which functions to regulate the control of water discharge in each flow. With good and controlled irrigation, irrigation systems and waterways from upstream to downstream can be controlled, so that the need for water in agriculture, fisheries, plantations, and industry can be met and relied on properly. The sluice gate functions to control water so that it can prevent flood water in a fast and high flow. The flowing water will lead to the river to the ocean. Therefore the author will design a prototype of an Internet of Things (IoT) based automatic sluice monitoring system. this system requires interrelated components, namely NodeMcu as the control center of the system as well as a wifi module and the relay module as an electrical switch to turn on or off and use the blynk application.

Abstract

Sustainable building design requires the integration of structural efficiency, energy performance, and architectural expression. Steel structure is widely regarded as a strategic construction system because of its high strength-to-weight ratio, fabrication precision, reuse potential, and capacity to create long-span spaces. This article analyzes the contribution of steel structure to sustainable buildings through energy efficiency and aesthetics. The study applies a descriptive-comparative approach based on secondary data, literature review, and document analysis of three representative building typologies: office, industrial, and public long-span buildings. The findings indicate that steel structure supports sustainability through material efficiency and circularity, while also enabling passive design strategies such as daylight penetration and cross ventilation. Comparative scoring yields average values of 4.56 for sustainability, 4.44 for energy efficiency, and 4.56 for aesthetics on a five-point scale. Steel structure is therefore not only a structural system, but also an architectural device that connects environmental performance and visual identity. The study proposes an integrative model linking material efficiency, energy performance, and architectural expression as a basis for sustainable building design
