Abstract

Current era of information and technology openness does not always have a positive impact on humans but there are also negative impacts, one of which is the moral decline in society, especially children and adolescents. One way to improve the morale of the nation's children is by reintroducing traditional arts which contain a lot of character education values in them, one of which is the wayang kulit performance. This study explores the values of character education in the character Kresna in the story Kresna Duta presented by Ki Sigit Manggolo Seputro. The data in this study were sourced from the transcription of the wayang kulit performance Kresna Duta by Ki Sigit Manggolo Seputro. The analysis technique used in this research is data analysis technique the Miles and Hubernam model.The results of this study reveal that there are 13 values of character education based on the perspective of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia that exist in the figure of Kresna namely: 1) religious, 2) democratic, 3) friendly, 4) hard work, 5) honest, 6) independent, 7) love the motherland, 8) creative, 9) love peace, 10) responsibility, 11) appreciate achievement, 12) social care and 13) tolerance. Wayang kulit performance lakon Kresna Duta by Ki Sigit Manggolo Seputro can be a good alternative solution to increase the morale of the nation's youth, one of which is through the teachings of character education values.

Abstract

Orang yang mendengarkan gending Jawa selain merasakan keselarasan tabuhan juga akan mendapatkan berbagai ajaran atau informasi dari syair lagu yang didengarkannya. Salah satu bentuk ajaran dalam gending-gending Jawa ialah sebagai media pembelajaran suatu ilmu tertentu, akan tetapi penggunaan gending sangat jarang dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran menabuh gamelan itu sendiri. Tujuan dari aransemen ladrang Jagung-Jagung ini ialah sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran tentang teknik menabuh gamelan yang benar. Metode yang digunakan dalam karya ini menggunakan metode perancangan dalam penelitian terapan yang terdiri dari : (1) eksplorasi, (2) improvisasi, (3) pembentukan dan (4) sosialisasi. Hasil dari karya aransemen ini menjelaskan unsur vokal menjadi fokus utama dalam pembuatan karya ini. Komposisi aransemen ini mengungkapkan beberapa teknik memainkan gamelan yang benar yang terdiri dari dimensi sikap yaitu : wiraga (ketepatan dan keterampilan), wirama (irama), wirasa (perasaan) dan dari dimensi hasil bunyi pada instrument tertentu, seperti instrumen balungan, kendang, suling, rebab, dan gambang.The Role of Gending Jagung-Jagung Arrangement in Enhancing Gamelan Performance Skills: An Educational StrategyAbstractThose who engage with Javanese music will not only perceive the harmonious nature of the music itself, but will also gain insight from the lyrics of the songs they listen to. One pedagogical approach in Javanese music is to utilize music as a conduit for imparting specific knowledge. However, the use of music as a means of teaching gamelan music itself is a relatively uncommon phenomenon. The objective of this ladrang Jagung-Jagung arrangement is to serve as an alternative pedagogical tool for learning the proper techniques for playing the gamelan. This work employs a design method in applied research, comprising the following stages: The four stages of the research process are as follows: (1) exploration, (2) improvisation, (3) formation, and (4) socialization. The outcome of this arrangement demonstrates that the vocal element is the primary focus. The composition of this arrangement reveals several techniques for playing the gamelan correctly, which can be divided into two dimensions: attitude and sound. The attitude dimension includes wiraga (accuracy and skill), wirama (rhythm), and wirasa (feeling). The sound dimension encompasses the specific techniques required for certain instruments, such as balungan, kendang, suling, rebab, and gambang.Keywords: arrangement; gending; ladrang Jagung-Jagung; learning media

Abstract

Serat Wedhatama is one of the literary works that contains moral values that are still relevant to social life and in accordance with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. The purpose of this study is to describe the related to the Profil Pelajar Pancasila’s in the serat Wedhatama. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The data were collected by reading and note-taking method, and then analyzed by qualitative analysis method of Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicated that the Profil Pelajar Pancasila dimensions implied in the serat Wedhatama pupuh Pangkur was the dimensions of faith, fear of God, and noble character, especially in the sub-elements of religious, personal, and state morals. In the global diversity dimension, there was an example that corresponds to the sub-elements of communication and interaction between cultures and social justice. The sub-element of collaboration which was the part of teamworks was also shown in the serat Wedhatama. In the independent dimension there was an example of self-understanding and the situation handling aspect. In addition, there was also a sub-element of thougts reflection and decisions process as part of the critical thinking dimension. Further research on Javanese moral values as a reinforcement of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila in the other serat Wedhatama’s pupuh or other Javanese literary still needs to be conducted in order to make a contribution to the education fields and to preserve the Indonesian noble heritage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi evektivitas penerapan model aural dalam pembelajaran  ricikan gender di lingkungan pendidikan formal ISI Yogyakarta. Gender merupakan salah satu ricikan gamelan Jawa yang memiliki peran musikal sangat penting. Pola penyajian ricikan gender dimainkan menggunakan dua tangan secara bersamaan maupun bergantian yang menghasilkan melodi yang disebut dengan cengkok-cengkok genderan.  Cengkok genderan merupakan sebuah tafsir (interpretasi), imajinasi atau kreatifitas seorang pengrawit untuk menentukan pola, teknik dan gaya dalam memainkan ricikan gender. Kemampuan tafsir, imajinasi dan kreatifitas tersebut muncul tidak terlepas dari pengaruh metode belajar. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Obyek materi dalam penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa Jurusan Karawitan ISI Yogyakarta semester dua. Total mahasiswa sebanyak 10 anak yaitu terdiri dari 9 mahasiswa dan 1 darmasiswa dari Negara Canada dengan latar belakang belum mengenal gamelan Jawa. Dalam penelitian ini data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipan dan wawancara. Validasi data didapat melalui member checking, selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran melalui kuesioner self-report serta diskusi kelompok terpadu. analisis tematik akan digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tema dan pola dalam data dengan Kerangka kerja pengkodean 6 fase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7 dari 10 mahasiswa reguler dan darmasiswa menyatakan bahwa model aural lebih efektif digunakan sebagai metode pembelajaran untuk mencapai tingkat daya tafsir (interpretasi), imajinasi atau kreatifitas dalam menguasai cengkok genderan.Reconceptualizing Aural-Based Instruction of the Gender Ricikan: An Interpretive Approach to Inner Musical Sense in Formal EducationAbstractThis study aims to identify the effectiveness of applying an aural model in teaching the Ricikan gender within the formal educational environment of ISI Yogyakarta. Gender is one of the essential ricikan (instrumental components) in Javanese gamelan, holding a critical musical role. It is performed using both hands simultaneously or alternately to produce melodic patterns known as cengkok genderan. These cengkok represent interpretations, imaginative constructs, or creative expressions of a pengrawit (gamelan musician) in determining the patterns, techniques, and stylistic approaches when playing the gender. The chosen learning method profoundly influences interpretative, imaginative, and creative abilities. This research employed a qualitative methodology with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of second-semester students of the Karawitan Department at ISI Yogyakarta, totaling ten participants: nine local students and one darmasiswa (foreign scholarship student) from Canada, all of whom had no prior experience with Javanese gamelan. Data were collected through participant observation and interviews. Data validation was conducted via member checking, followed by measurements using self-report questionnaires and focused group discussions. Thematic analysis used a six-phase coding framework to identify recurring themes and patterns. The study results indicate that seven out of ten participants, including both regular students and the darmasiswa, affirmed that the aural model proved more effective as a learning method in enhancing interpretative, imaginative, and creative capacities in mastering cengkok genderan.Keywords: Javanese gamelan; gender ricikan; aural learning model; interpretive musical feeling; formal music education

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain (1) Find and describe the types of skin diseases and their treatments in Serat Dayasarana; and (2) Find the types of treatment materials and validation of treatment materials in Serat Dayasarana. The research method used is content analysis method with the research data source of Serat Dayasarana text. Data collection in this study was done using the read-and-record method. The validity used in this research is semantic validity and confirming the results of the analysis on the results of research related to skin diseases and their treatment. The results of this study found four types of skin diseases like bisul, kudis, kadas, and borok. The ingredients used to treat the four diseases include jarak, kenanga, kamijara/sereh, sambilata, adas, pulasari, sulfur, terusi, coconut oil, kesambi leaves, sangkobak, and cucumber. These ingredients are scientifically validated for the treatment of skin diseases.
