Abstract

The aims of this study is to describe the steps of measurement in identifying the value of pitch and formant in PRAAT to find out the highest value of vocal pitch and formant. This study employed descriptive qualitative research by using content analysis approach. Content analysis is to organize and elicit meaning from the data collected and to draw realistic conclusion from it (Bengtsson, 2016). Based on the data the results in the formants of the word being pronounced highest is a male and the lowest is female. Meanwhile the pitch highest is a female and lowest is teenage. This study only focus on identifying the highest and lowest pitch and formants from the singer cover (female, male and teenager) on Youtube by applying PRAAT application to calculate in the data that will be analyzed. In addition, the data was descriptive analysis with the presentation of data in the form of numerical tables.

Abstract

This study examines the phonetic changes that occur in the Indonesian language among Indonesian speakers. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of Bahasa using the framework of Optimality Theory. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive description of the facts and give a theoretical framework for the alteration of phonemes in Bahasa. Additionally, it aims to examine how native speakers pronounce and utilise these phonemes in communication. Phonemic intervention gives rise to various issues, such as assimilation. One potential way to address this issue is the use of Optimality Theory. This study focuses on analysing the diphthong /ai/ in Bahasa Indonesia and its interaction with other phonemes using the framework of Optimality Theory. The study of optimality theory and assimilation in diphthongs enhances our comprehension in specific words of Bahasa Indonesia phonology. Additionally, evidence highlights the significant presence of implicit figures in recent advancements in Optimality Theory.

Abstract

Pemerolehan bahasa kedua adalah pembelajaran yang dipelajari setelah bahasa ibunya. Mengekspos anak-anak untuk mempelajari penguasaan bahasa kedua memungkinkan mereka tertarik mempelajari potensi bahasa lain, membantu membentuk otak. Data penelitian ini dari tiga anak berusia tiga hingga lima tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian observasi, wawancara dan pencatatan. Penelitian kualitatif adalah proses penyelidikan pemahaman berdasarkan tradisi metodologis penyelidikan yang berbeda yang mengeksplorasi masalah sosial atau kemanusiaan (Creswell, 2014). Temuan penelitian ini pertama, anak-anak yang belajar bahasa kedua dapat berbicara bahasa ibu juga dan dapat berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Kedua, penggunaan audiovisual dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua oleh orang tua membuat anak tertarik karena dapat membantu anak meningkatkan kreativitas, rasa percaya diri dan kemudahan mengakses ilmu pengetahuan.

Abstract

Given that English is currently the most extensively utilized language globally, its importance cannot be dismissed or underestimated. This is because English is the most prevalent language spoken everywhere. Both consistent practice and patience are required in order to learn English. To advance in one's life, it is essential to have a working knowledge of the English language. It is the most important viewpoint of the contemporary world. Due to the prevalence of English as the primary language for communication worldwide, particularly among youth, this study focused on the impact that English has as a global language. The focus of this study was to explore what factors are contributing to why teenagers should learn English and the reasons why they had been learning English since earlier age. Teenagers were under the impression that all languages would eventually compete with English for the position of world language. It is anticipated that the future of English will provide us with a path to follow in how we conduct our operations in connection to the potential future of English. For millions of people all around the world, English is rapidly becoming an essential fundamental skill.
