Abstract

Clean water is water used for daily needs with quality that meets hygiene requirements. Poor environmental sanitation can increase the deposit of microorganisms in water. Water containing microorganisms can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea is still a health problem in Demta District, and one of the contributing factors is the consumption of water contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria. Demta is a district in Jayapura Regency, which consists of several villages, including Kampung Ambora, Demda, Kamdera, Muaif, Muris Kecil, Yakore and Yaugapsa. Based on a survey in the Demta District, household activities, cooking, washing and drinking water come from mountain waterfalls which are channeled through pipes to homes. Based on the results of research on water samples in Demta District, Jayapura Regency in 2023, it was found that 5 samples did not meet the requirements (positive for bacteria Escherichia coli and coliforms). This community service aims to disseminate research results to the public in order to prevent the spread of diseases caused by bacteria Escherichia coli and coliforms. This community service was carried out for 6 months in Demta District, Jayapura Regency in June - November 2024. Activities carried out ranged from surveys, outreach and education on research results, handling water through boiling for the community before consumption.

Abstract

Soybeans are a source of high quality vegetable protein for human consumption or made into products including soy milk. Poorly processed soy milk can be contaminated with disease-causing bacteria, one of which is the Coliform bacteria group. Coliform bacteria are a group of bacteria that are contained in large quantities in human and animal waste, so these bacteria are often used as indicators of food and water quality. Coliform bacteria can cause various diseases, one of which is diarrhea. The aim of this research is to determine the contamination of Coliform bacteria in unbranded soy milk sold at Youtefa Market. The type of research used is descriptive experimental research. Samples were analyzed using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. The research results showed that 5 of the 5 samples tested were above the standard value, because the MPN value was >3/ml. The conclusion from the data analysis can be concluded that all samples tested contained Coliform bacteria contamination. Keywords: Coliform, Youtefa Market, Soy Milk.

Abstract

Pemeriksaan laboratorium klinik merupakan unsur penunjang yang sangat penting dalam prosesdiagnosis penyakit. Jumlah leukosit dalam darah berubah pada beberapa kelainan. Misalnya, jumlahleukosit meningkat secara dramatis selama mononukleosis menular dan infeksi bakteri, tetapi turuntajam selama demam tifoid. Hasilnya, pemeriksaan jumlah leukosit dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi infeksi atau peradangan pada individu. Puskesmas Dosay merupakan Puskesmas yangterletak di Kabupaten Jayapura dan merupakan puskesmas yang belum memiliki pelayanan untukpemeriksaan hitung jumlah leukosit. Pentingnya pemeriksaan jumlah leukosit, dapat membantumansyarakat dalam diagnosa penyakit. Hal ini bisa disebabkan kurang nya stok larutan turk padaPuskesmas.Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan selama 6 bulan di Puskesmas Dosay KabupatenJayapura pada bulan Juli 2023. Kegiatan yang dilakukan mulai dari survey dan melihat puskesmasmelakukan pelayanan pemeriksaan hitung jumlah leukosit, dilanjutkan dengan edukasi ke seluruhTenaga Tekhnologi Laboratorium Medik di Puskesmas Dosay Kabupaten Jayapura tentang carapembuatan reagens turk dari bahan baku sederhana yang mudah didapat dan harga terjangkau dengan asam cuka, edukasi menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan praktik pembuatan reagens turk. Setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dilakukan pembagian turk untuk stok reagens di Puskesmas dan pembagian Standar Prosedur Operasional Pembuatan reagens Turk. Hasil Puskesmas berupa peningkatan pengetahuan tenaga Teknologi Laboratorium Medik dalam pembuatan larutan turk dari bahan baku asam cuka, pemeriksaan jumlah leukosit, Tersusunya Standar Prosedur Operasional dan Tersedianya reagens Turk selama 1 Tahun serta tersedianya pelayanan pemeriksaan hitung jumlah leukosit dengan rata-rata npemeriksaan 2-3 pasien / hari.
