Abstract

The value of cooperation in the farming activities of the Nagekeo district residents has been preserved since ancient times. There are many values contained in farming activities which are used as local guidelines. The aim of this research is to depict the value of cooperation in farming activities in the Mbay II sub-district, Nagekeo Regency, which can be related to classroom instruction. The research uses descriptive qualitative methods to explore the cultivation of cooperation value in farming activities in depth. The data were collected using interview and then analysed using qualitative descriptive analysis with interview guide instruments. The participants in this research consist of the members of Karya Nyata 6 farmer group in Mbay II Village, Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The results of this research show that in farming activities there are cooperation values such as; (1) togetherness, (2) solidarity, (3) discipline and (4) responsibility which can be related to classroom instructions. Farming activity that instils the value of cooperation is a good value in social life. So, the value of working together in farming activities can be continued by students if it is brought into classroom instructions.

Abstract

The people of Aeramo village, Nagekeo Regency, who work as fish farmers, find it very difficult to provide fish feed due to the high feed price. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to provide information about the process of making simple-based fish feed and their response.  Community service was carried out in June 2023 in Dusun II, Aeramo Village, Nagekeo Regency. The activity method is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), which aims to carry out community service based on the strengths and potential of the community. Discussions and interviews, counseling, and direct practice carried out data collection. The results obtained from this fish feed-making training activity are: 1) the community knows that the actual feed they buy so far ingredients are around them and are very simple, 2) the community is able to absorb the knowledge gained about how to make feed starting with the preparation of tools and materials, making formulations, to making feed and given directly to cultured fish.   Fish farmers can easily make fish feed, and the raw materials used in making feed can be obtained in the surrounding area, making it easier for farmers to make their feed.

Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat mengenai teknik pembuatan pelet pakan ikan dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh di lingkungan sekitar. Fungsi utama pakan adalah untuk kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan. Metode dan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah diskusi bersama dengan memberikan pelatihan dan praktek langsung. Peserta dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berjumlah 25 orang. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan pada bulan agustus tahun 2024  yang   bertempat di Desa Ladolima Utara, Kecamatan Keo Tengah, Kabupaten Nagekeo, NTT. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah 1) pembuatan pelet pakan ikan dilakuan agar masyarkat menyadari bahwa bahan untuk membuat pakan sebenarnya mudah didapat di lingkungan sekitar dan cara pembuatannya pun tidak rumit, 2) masyarakat dibekali keterampilan mulai dari tahap persiapan alat dan bahan hingga proses pembuatan pelet pakan ikan yang siap diberikan langsung kepada ikan. Melalui pelatihan ini, peserta memperoleh pemahaman serta keterampilan dalam meracik pakan ikan, sehingga mereka dapat mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan limbah perikanan dan bahan baku lokal untuk menghasilkan produk yang lebih hemat biaya serta mendukung efisiensi produksi di pasaran. Melalui pelatihan ini, diharapkan masyarakat dapat menghasilkan pelet pakan ikan secara mandiri, sehingga mampu mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap pakan komersial yang harganya relatif mahal. Dengan demikian, biaya operasional dalam budidaya ikan dapat ditekan, sekaligus meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan usaha perikanan masyarakat.

Abstract

Pig farming is maintained by the Nagekeo community because they use these animals for various events such as religious ceremonies (Catholic), traditional events, and parties. The purpose of this study is to identify the distribution patterns and maintenance practices of pig farming in Marapokot Village. This research will be conducted in April-May 2025, located in Maropokot Village, Aesesa District, Nagekeo Regency. The methods used in this study include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis to describe the characteristics of the respondents. The results of this study show that the majority of respondents who raise pigs are aged between 31-45 years, indicating that most pig farmers are in the productive age range. These farmers have a low level of education, with most still at the high school level or below, and age. The people of Marapokot Village raise pigs as a side business. Pig farming is still carried out traditionally on a household scale, as can be seen from the number of livestock kept, which is between 1-5 pigs. The pigs are kept near the house and are still housed in makeshift pens.
