Abstract

Advertising as a material for semiotic study, this article describes the signs found in SilverQueen chocolate advertisements for the very berry yogurt flavor variant on YouTube and also the meaning of the signs between the signifier and signified based on the object. This study aims to find out signifiers and signifieds, find out the meaning contained in SilverQueen chocolate advertisements with very berry yogurt flavors on YouTube, such as how semiotics looks at the meaning of messages in advertisements. The method used in this study uses qualitative analysis methods. With this method, researchers can study and examine the meaning contained in a sign based on the information obtained by researchers, such as video footage in advertisements depicting messages for consumers, creating recognizable products with the intention of attracting consumer interest in the form of names, packaging, logo, price, and the power of image visualization.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: There are several assessments in medical education in Indonesia.  Currently, as a formative assessment at the preclinical level, UTB (Ujian Tahap Bersama) is being proposed to control the quality of medical education graduates. Objective: This study aims to determine the correlation between UTB scores and Grade Point Average  (GPA). Methods: This study was an analytic study with a cross-sectional design using a total sampling technique. The sample of this study was students participating in UTB Stage 1 or UTB Stage 2 at the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Science Jambi University. Result: The average UTB Stage I score was 36.83±8.86, and the average UTB Stage II score was 45.42±7.43. There was a correlation between UTB Stage I score and GPA  (p <0.001), with a coefficient correlation of 0.677. There was a correlation between UTB Stage II score and GPA (p<0.001), with a coefficient correlation of 0.575. Conclusion: There was a strong correlation between UTB Stage I scores and GPA and a moderate correlation between UTB Stage II scores and GPA.

Abstract

Minyak atsiri merupakan minyak yang mudah menguap dan mengandung aroma atau wangi yang khas, hal ini disebabkan minyak atsiri dari beberapa tanaman bersifat aktif biologis sebagai antioksidan dan antibakteri. Dalam menentukan senyawa minyak atsiri yang terkandung dalam berbagai jenis tumbuhan digunakan metode Kromatografi Gas atau Gas Chromatography Mass Spectometry (GC-MS). Sampel yang digunakan adalah kulit batang kepuh, rimpang kunyit, sereh, sereh, kulit buah langsat, umbi bawang putih, bunga melati, cengkeh, daun kelor, kapulaga,daun insulin, minyak kenanga, salam, jahe merah, kulit jeruk, pala, sembukan,lada hitam, lavender. Dalam penulisan review artikel ini, tim penulis melakukan studi literatur melalui database elektronik seperti Google Scholar, NCBI, Sinta, Science Direct, Pubmed, Researchgate, dan sumber elektronik yang lainnya. Hasil dari studi literature ini, diketahui bahwa setiap tumbuhan yang mengandung minyak atsiri memiliki golongan yang berbeda dan jenis yang berbeda satu sama lain. Fase gerak yang paling banyak digunakan adalah Helium, Fase diam yang digunakan paling banyak adalah dari Kolom kapiler Phenyl Methyl Silox dan Kolom DB-12 MS. Detektor yang digunakan adalah MS (massa spektrometer) dengan metode GC-MS.
