Abstract

Medicinal plants are plants that can be used for curing the diseases because of its compounds. Identification of medicinal plants is needed to consider the kinds ofmedicinal plants. This study aims to know the species used as medicine and to process it for curing disease. This study is qualitative descriptive. The sampling technique is quota sampling with triangulation and data were analized by Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that 38 species from 22 family of medicinal plants aere found. Parts that are widely used were leaves, then roots, stems, flowers, flower petals, fruit, rhizomes, sap, tubers and all parts. Based on this study it can be seen that these plants can treat various diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, fever, diarrhea, skin itching caused by fungi such as phlegm and ringworm, vaginal discharge and nosebleeds, thrush, increase and accelerate breast milk production, accelerates the healing process of wounds and relieves menstrual pain. The most popular management method was boiled. Another method was mashed and then rubbed, dripped, dried and then affixed, brewed and consumed directlyas vegetables, vegetables or other food mixes.

Abstract

Mistletoe (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) is a parasitic plant used in traditional medicine. This study evaluates the bioactivity of endophytic fungi in mistletoe . Endophytic fungal species were determined through morphological identification. Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) media was used for the cultivation, and ethyl acetate was used as solvent to extract secondary metabolites. The antioxidant test was carried out using the DPPH method, while the paper disc diffusion method performed the antibacterial test. A total of 4 isolates of endophytic fungi were obtained from mistletoe leaves, namely isolates DB1 – DB4. The results of morphological analysis showed that DB1 was Paecilomyces sp., DB2 was Papulaspora sp., DB3 was Aspergillus sp., and DB4 was Mucor sp. The endophytic fungus DB3 (Aspergillus sp.) showed the most potential antioxidant and antibacterial activity. This endophytic fungal extract can potentially be a source of new drugs through further research by isolating the active compound.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) product integrated with the Qur'an and Hadith on the material of animal and human growth and development, and to determine the level of validity and practicality. This research method uses R & D (Reserch and Development and was implemented at SMA Palembang. The research subjects consisted of 9 students and 2 biology teachers. The instruments used were student response questionnaires and teacher practicality questionnaires. Based on the analysis of research data, the validity results by the validator were 94.66%, 97.33%, 97.33%, 96.00%, and the students' responses with an average of 94.95% were in the very practical category, while the teachers' practicality with an average of 90.66% was in the very practical category. Based on these results, LKPD was declared very practical and very valid to be used as biology teaching materials that integrate Islamic values and scientific concepts.
