Abstract

This study aims to see how much income farmers earn. This research was conducted at the end of November 2018 to February 2019. The data used are primary and secondary data. This research was conducted using direct interview techniques with 23 (twenty three) respondents, in this case the processing of coconut brown sugar and also using written data in the form of documents obtained from the Simpang Kiri District office. This study aims to determine the feasibility of coconut brown sugar business in Simpang Kiri District, Subulussalam City. The data analysis method used in this study is to use the formula for analysis of costs, income and profits. Meanwhile, to calculate business feasibility, the formula used is the Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Break Even Point (BEP) and Return On Investment (ROI). The results showed that the average profit received by the coconut brown sugar business craftsmen was Rp. 10,284,428., / per month. Based on the calculation of business feasibility, the R/C is 1.63, the production BEP value is Rp. 1147 kg. BEP price Rp. 8,719, and ROI 63.06%. So it can be concluded that the coconut brown sugar business in Simpang Kiri District, Subulussalam City is feasible to pursue.

Abstract

Efforts to increase the growth of white mustard plants can be done by providing Kasgot Fertilizer and POC Eco enzyme treatment. If you look at the correct dose, type, time and method of fertilization, the plant's response to fertilization will increase growth and yield. This research was carried out with the aim of determining the effect of plants on the concentration of Kasgot and POC Eco enzyme in white mustard plants. This research was repeated three times using a two-way randomized block design (RAK). The cassava concentration factor (K) has 4 levels, K0 (control), K1 (2 kg/plot), K2 (3 kg/plot), K3 (4 kg/plot). POC Eco enzyme factor (C) consists of 3 levels, namely E0 (control), E1 (20 ml/L), E2 (35 ml/L). Observation parameters include plant height, stem diameter, leaf width for each sample plant. Application of Kasgot Fertilizer had a significant effect on plant height and stem diameter of white mustard plants (3 kg/plot). The administration of POC Eco enzyme had no significant effect on all parameters observed. The interaction of providing Kasgot Fertilizer and POC Eco enzyme had no significant effect on all the treatments observed.

Abstract

Fall Armyworm (FAW) or armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith) is an insect native to the United States that is invasive to Indonesia. Pest control can be done with natural/biological compounds derived from plants which are an alternative to chemical insecticides. The purpose of this study was to observe the toxicity response of contact poison extract of Tithonia diversifolia kipahit leaves against S. frugiperda larvae. This study was conducted in the laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of North Sumatra, Jl. Karya Wisata Gedung Johor. Medan Johor District, Medan City, North Sumatra, with an altitude of ± 25 m above sea level (meters above sea level) with flat topography. This research was conducted from June 20, 2025 to August 16, 2025. This research used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design using several treatments, namely k0: control, k1: 0.1%, k2: 0.2%, k3: 0.3%, k4: 0.4%, and k5: 0.5%. By using Analysis using IBM SPSS Statistic 20. Observed parameters S. frugiperda pest level, Lethal concentration LC50 and Lethal Time LT50. The results showed that the administration of kipahit leaf extract (T. diversifolia) using contact poison application in this study had a significant effect on the mortality of S. frugiperda larvae, the highest mortality was at a concentration of k5 (0.5%) which was 77.50%, the higher the concentration of contact poison given, the faster the mortality process of S. frugiperda larvae.
