PPE is a personal protective equipment used by the workforce directly to prevent accidents caused by various factors that exist or arise in the work environment. The problem raised is the Effect of the Application of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) on the Number of Accidents. In this study, the design used is Literature Review. The method in searching article data sources is carried out through the Google database to retrieve relevant articles published in Indonesian. From the above exposures, it is explained that work accidents can be caused by human factors (unsafe action) and environmental factors (unsafe conditions). And it can be concluded that the application of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) has a great effect on the number of accidents. Because Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration in 2010 is a tool that has the ability to protect a person whose function is to isolate part or all of the body from potential dangers in the workplace. The use of PPE is the final stage of work accident control, its use will be important if there is a potential risk of work accidents. However, in reality, there are still many workers who do not use it even though they know the great benefits of using PPE.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of occupational safety and health (OSH) management in preventing workplace accidents through a literature review approach. The method used is a literature review of various national and international journals published between 2018 and 2025. The results of the study indicate that structured and systematic OSH management can significantly reduce the risk of workplace accidents across various industrial sectors. Factors influencing the effectiveness of OSH management include workplace safety training, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), consistent supervision, and the implementation of a workplace safety culture within the organization. Additionally, the integration of modern technology such as Virtual Reality (VR) in OSH training enhances workers' understanding and compliance with safety procedures. This study also highlights challenges in implementing OSH, such as low worker awareness and weak internal supervision. Therefore, strong managerial commitment and a collaborative approach are needed to build a sustainable workplace safety system. The findings from this research are expected to serve as a reference for developing more effective OSH strategies to create a safe and productive work environment.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is a crucial aspect in creating a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. Although it has been regulated in various national regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001:2018, the implementation of K3 in Indonesia still faces various challenges. This study aims to examine the challenges and strategies for the implementation of K3 management through a literature review approach to eight relevant scientific articles. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns, constraints, and best practices in the management of K3 in various industrial sectors. The results of the study show that the paradigm shift from an administrative approach to a risk-based strategic approach is the key to the successful implementation of K3. However, structural barriers, weak work culture, and weak supervision are the main obstacles. Some strategies that have proven effective include proactive leadership, risk-based training, open reporting systems, and integration of CSR with quality management systems and the environment. Thus, effective implementation of K3 requires a systemic approach, management commitment, and strengthening regulations to create a safe and sustainable work culture.
