Abstract

The red fruit plant (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) is a plant from the pandan family which is found growing wild in the regions of Papua, Maluku and Papua New Guinea. Red fruit plants contain important nutrients that can be used as a source of degenerative medicine raw materials. The genetic potential of red fruit in natural habitat is not known with certainty. This study aims to identify the morphological characteristics of growing red fruit plants in Taniwel District, West Seram Regency. The research was carried out using field observation and interview methods. Observational data on the morphological characters of the red fruit plants collected were then processed and tabulated. Data is presented in the form of morphological descriptions. The results showed that there were 2 red fruit accessions that were widely cultivated, namely saune ellah and saune oti. The diversity of morphological characteristics of red fruit plants between saune ellah and saune oti, especially in plant height, main stem diameter, branching form, number of branches, fruit length, fruit diameter, leaf length, and leaf width. The number of branches and leaf size are the most determining factors, because red fruit plants with large leaf sizes produce larger fruit sizes compared to accessions with small leaf sizes. Meanwhile, red fruit plants that have a large number of branches will produce more fruit.

Abstract

Kamarian Village is one of the coconut producing villages in Kairatu District which manages coconut plantations with high yields. The coconut fruit processing industry is generally still focused on processing fruit flesh as the main product. By-products such as leaves, roots, stems, and coconut shells are often neglected and disposed of as waste, causing environmental pollution. One effort that can be made to take advantage of this problem is through processing coconut shell waste into briquettes. The purpose of making briquettes from coconut shells is to reduce agricultural waste in the form of coconut shells so that wasted coconut shell waste can be reduced by making coconut shell briquettes. This community service activity is carried out through the following stages: preparation, lectures and discussions, training in making briquettes, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results obtained from the implementation of this PKM activity are that the community gains new knowledge on how to utilize coconut shell waste into briquettes which can be used as alternative fuels and can increase income for the community.

Abstract

Organic farming is one of the environmentally sound cultivation technologies. This cultivation system will lead farmers to care more about the environment and pay more attention to environmental factors that exist in every farming activity that is carried out. Haria village is one of the village included in Saparua District which has potential in the agricultural sector. Community agricultural cultivation activities in Haria village are still carried out traditionally with the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers to increase crop production, so that it can have a negative impact on nature and humans. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of Negeri Haria in applying organic farming cultivation technology. This community service activity is carried out through the following stages: preparation, counseling, training, and activity evaluation. The results obtained from the implementation of this PKM activity are that the community gains knowledge about organic farming cultivation and how to make organic fertilizer
