Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the pragmatic meaning contained in the oral speech of tuara picking up the harvest of the Wewewa community of Southwest Sumba. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research which produces data in the form of written or spoken words from people or observable behavior. The data collection techniques in this research are expert listening and recording techniques. In the active listening technique, the researcher listens and is involved in the conversation with the traditional elders, while in the recording technique, the researcher records the entire process of the conversation with the traditional elders. The data analysis technique is carried out by following three stages, namely the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage, and the conclusion stage. Based on the analysis of the pragmatic meanings in the oral speech about picking up the harvest, it was concluded that there are three meanings, namely the meaning of preparing, greeting and begging

Abstract

Teachers are figures that can influence student learning outcomes. A serious problem faced by elementary school students in Tambolaka CitySouthwest Sumbais the low 21st century skills of students. One of the smart efforts to improve students' 21st century skills is to improve teacher competence. The purpose of this study is to describethe relationshipof teacher competence with  improving 4C skills of elementary school students. The method used was a survey with a questionnaire instrument. Data analysis used description analysis and correlation analysis. This study found that (1) teacher competence and student skills are moderate, (2) there is a significant relationship between teacher competence and students' critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity skills. What is different from this study is that teacher competence correlates higher with students' collaboration skills than with other 4C skills. Based on the results of this studythento improve students' 4C skills in Tambolaka Municipal District, teachers must continue to improve the 4 competencies through relevant education and training.Guru merupakan figur yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Permasalahan serius yang dihadapi oleh siswa Sekolah Dasar di Kota Tambolaka Sumba Barat Daya adalah rendahnya keterampilan abad 21 siswa. Salah satu upaya cerdas untuk meningkatkan keterampilan abad 21 siswa adalah meningkatkan kompetensi guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan kompetensi guru dengan  meningkatkan keterampilan 4C siswa Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan instrumen angket. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskripsi dan analisis korelasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa (1) kompetensi guru dan keterampilan siswa tergolong sedang, (2) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan  kompetensi guru dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, komunikasi, kreativitas siswa. Hal yang berbeda dengan penelitian ini adalah kompetensi guru berkorelasi lebih tinggi dengan keterampilan kolaborasi siswa dibandingkan dengan keterampilan 4C lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka untuk meningkatkan keterampilan 4C siswa di Kabupaten Kota Tambolaka, guru harus terus meningkatkan 4 kompetensi tersebut melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan yang relevan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the speech acts of teachers in Indonesian language learning at Santo Gerardus Mayella Kalembu Weri High School through pragmatic studies. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative research. The data source for this study is the Indonesian language teachers of Santo Gerardus Mayella Kalembu Weri High School. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis with a pragmatic analysis approach to speech acts. through the following stages: data reduction, data classification, context analysis, data interpretation, and data presentation. The results of the study showed that there were teacher utterances classified based on types such as assertive (studying expository texts, explaining text structures, and providing information), directive (opening books, discussing, asking questions, and using polite language), expressive (praising, criticizing with some not paying attention, saying thank you), commissive (promising help, offering help, promising hope, offering learning facilities through the class WA group, promising feedback with comments, offering consultation opportunities in the library), declarative (stipulating by collecting assignments on Friday this week, allowing discussions with deskmates, prohibiting plagiarism in essay writing assignments).
