Abstract

Biology is one of the subjects that students consider difficult. This difficulty arises because students must memorize the facts, principles, and theories taught by the teacher, without paying attention to the student's need to discover, develop, and apply their own ideas. The use of information technology in learning is an effective solution to overcome low student participation and increase their motivation in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of audio-visual media circulation system and describe the effectiveness of audio-visual media in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach through a descriptive method. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study are that the use of audio-visual media in cardiovascular/circulatory materials in the learning of the human circulatory system can increase student activity and learning outcomes. This media can also help convey information more completely and concretely, making it easier for students to understand material that tends to be abstract

Abstract

Glucose syrup is a product of starch hydrolysis that is widely used in the food industry and other industrial sectors. Currently, the production of glucose syrup is predominantly carried out through enzymatic processes due to their higher efficiency and environmental friendliness. Amylase enzymes play a crucial role in converting starch into simple sugars. This study aims to describe the role of amylase enzymes at each stage of glucose syrup production based on a literature review. The research method employed is descriptive research using a literature study approach, involving data collection from scientific journals, books, and other relevant literature sources. The data were qualitatively analyzed by examining the function of amylase enzymes during the liquefaction and saccharification stages. The results of the review indicate that α-amylase plays a role in the liquefaction stage by breaking down starch into dextrins, while glucoamylase functions in the saccharification stage by converting dextrins into glucose. The use of amylase enzymes can enhance process efficiency and produce glucose syrup with a higher glucose content. Therefore, amylase enzymes play an essential role in determining the success of enzymatic glucose syrup production.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the content/material, the feasibility of designing the Flashcard learning media by experts, to determine the practicality of the Flashcard learning media product and to determine the effectiveness of the Flashcard learning media on the excretory system material on student learning outcomes. This type of research is a research development using the Borg and Gall development model. The product trial was conducted in class VIII of SMP. The data collection instrument used a validation questionnaire, student response questionnaires, learning outcomes tests, and observation sheets. The result of the development is in the form of Flashcard learning media on the excretory system material. The results of the assessment of the feasibility level of content/material by lecturers are 91% with a very valid category, by subject teachers it reaches 95% with a very valid category. The results of the feasibility assessment by design experts obtained 100% with a very valid category. The results of the assessment of the level of practicality of using Flashcard learning media on the excretory system material obtained a percentage of 86% in the very practical category. The results of the assessment of the effectiveness of Flashcard media on the excretory system obtained completeness of 90% with a high category.
