Abstract

The study investigated Lecturers’ Efficacy and Readiness towards the Utilization of ICT for Academic Research in the College of Education in Kwara State. Non-experimental research design involving a descriptive survey was adopted. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The instruments were given to three experts in Science Education, Test, Measurement, and Evaluation. ICT experts who determined the validity of the instrument. The lecturers' Efficacy, lecturers' readiness, and lecturers utilizations were measured through a questionnaire. The population of the study was all the lecturers in the two Colleges of Education used as case studies comprising state and private colleges of education. The study also made use of 140 academic staff in both colleges of Education adopting Krejcie and Morgan, 1970 i.e. Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin (153 participants) while Kwara State College Of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies Ilorin Kwara State (52 participants) Structured questionnaire titled: “Lecturers’ Efficacy and Readiness towards Utilization of ICT Questionnaire” (LERUQ) was used to elicit information. Descriptive statistics of the frequency and percentage were used to answer research questions while Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the research hypotheses formulated in the study at a 0.05 level of significance.  The findings showed most of the lecturers’ had positive reactions towards it, limited knowledge, and limited understanding.

Abstract

The importance of integrity is undermined in communities where corruption is pervasive and the respect for authority figures is diminished. This research paper aims to analyze how leadership failures contribute to covetousness and corruption within Nigeria's educational system. The study analyzes the impact of ineffective leadership on the prevalence of unethical practices, such as bribery, embezzlement and favoritism. Data sources included academic literature, reports and official documents. Then data is analysis and extracted from selected literature. Through an analysis of relevant literature and case studies, the research highlights the detrimental consequences of these corrupt practices on the quality of education and the overall development of the country. In conclusion, strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks, enhancing oversight mechanisms, investing in capacity building and promoting a culture of integrity are key recommendations that can help pave the way for a more transparent, accountable and effective educational system. By implementing these recommendations, Nigeria can ensure that its educational institutions are led by individuals who prioritize the well-being and future of the nation's students.

Abstract

Maintaining physical infrastructure in private secondary schools is particularly critical because these institutions operate in a highly competitive environment where their reputation is tied to academic performance and the quality of their facilities. This study investigated the relationship between principals' facilities maintenance measures and administrative effectiveness in private secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study was guided by two research questions and four research hypotheses. The descriptive survey of the correlational type was adopted for the study. The population of this study comprised 7,869 senior secondary school teachers. A sample of 250 teachers was selected using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. A researcher-designed instrument titled "Principals' Facilities Maintenance Measures and Administrative Effectiveness Questionnaire (PFMMAEQ) was utilised for data collection. The findings of this study revealed that principals in private secondary schools in Kwara State implement preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance measures for their facilities. Similarly, the level of administrative effectiveness in private secondary schools in Kwara State is high. There is a significant relationship between principals' facilities maintenance measures and administrative effectiveness in private secondary schools in Kwara State. It was recommended that principals establish a comprehensive facilities maintenance framework that integrates preventive and emergency maintenance measures for consistent and effective management of school facilities. Principals should maintain a high level of administrative effectiveness by engaging in continuous professional development and fostering collaboration among school staff to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Abstract

The article explores the relationship between personality traits, organisational climate, and administrative effectiveness, focusing on how these factors interact to shape organisational performance. The Five-Factor Model (Big Five) of personality is used to analyse the impact of specific traits on key dimensions of administrative effectiveness, such as efficiency, decision-making quality, and staff satisfaction. Organisational climate plays a significant role in shaping administrative effectiveness, with positive and negative climates fostering high productivity and employee morale. Positive climates, characterised by good communication, lack of support, and managerial incompetence, hinder performance and lead to high turnover rates. The article analyses the impact of organisational climate on various aspects of administrative practice, including employee motivation, communication patterns, and resource allocation. The research also explores the synergistic effects between personality traits and organisational climate, highlighting how individual characteristics can either enhance or mitigate the impact of the organisational environment on administrative effectiveness. The article presents a systematic literature review, synthesis report, and document analysis on the relationship between personality traits, organisational climate, and administrative effectiveness. The review identifies research gaps and highlights the correlation between traits like openness to experience and conscientiousness with effective administrative practices. The article concludes with practical implications for organisations, suggesting using assessment tools to identify personality traits and organisational climate characteristics, implementing training programs to develop individual strengths, and revising organisational policies to create a culture that values diverse personality traits and promotes employee well-being. Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of the 3M Management Model in empowering educational personnel to break barriers in higher education leadership. The objectives of the study seek to bridge the gap between theory and practice in higher education leadership by exploring the potential of the 3M Management Model and providing evidence-based insights that can inform decision-making and improve leadership development programs. The method used in this research is a Systematic Literature Review. The result found that educational leaders can develop their leadership abilities and encourage constructive change within their institutions by implementing this paradigm. The advantages of using the 3M Management Model are examined on how it can promote an innovative culture, enhance decision-making procedures and boost output. It also emphasizes how critical it is to cultivate a growth mentality, put successful procedures into place and use pertinent metrics to gauge performance. Higher education institutions can overcome obstacles and achieve sustainable growth and success by equipping their staff with this strategy

Abstract

This study explores the influence of strategic planning on work-life balance among employees at Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Nigeria. As higher education institutions face increasing demands for productivity and excellence, understanding the interplay between organisational strategies and employee well-being has become critical. The sample size was 110 employees and descriptive statistics and inferential statistical techniques were used to analyse the data. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, focusing on perceptions of strategic planning and work-life balance. The findings revealed a significant correlation between effective strategic planning and improved work-life balance, emphasising the importance of transparency, inclusivity, and employee engagement in planning processes. Furthermore, the research highlights the impact of organisational culture on the implementation of strategic initiatives, suggesting that a supportive environment is essential for fostering employee satisfaction and retention. It found that transparent and inclusive strategic planning processes lead to a positive work-life balance, fostering a sense of ownership and commitment. The study also highlighted the importance of organisational culture in implementing effective policies. The research emphasises the need for continuous evaluation and adaptation of strategic initiatives to ensure they remain relevant and effective. This study contributes to the existing literature by addressing a notable gap in research regarding the connection between strategic planning and employee well-being in Nigerian higher education. It was recommended among others that creating structured opportunities for employees to participate in the strategic planning process can foster an organisational culture that prioritises employee well-being.
