Abstract

Artificial feed is the main input of energy sources provided so that shrimp growth becomes optimal. Appropriate feeding can spur the growth and development of vaname shrimp optimally so that productivity can be increased and get low FCR. This Final Practical Work (KPA) will be carried out from January 15, 2024 to March 31, 2024 at West Java Tasikmalaya, West Java, with the aim of knowing feed management in vanname shrimp rearing in intensive ponds, calculating survival rates, ABW, ADG, FCR and calculating business analysis on vanname shrimp rearing in intensive ponds. The data analysis techniques used in the preparation of this report are descriptive and quantitative analysis. Feed management in vaname shrimp starts from feed handling, type and form of feed, nutritional content of feed, feed program, feeding and anco control. Stocking density of 150 heads/m2 with a maintenance period of 120 days using Haida brand feed. For the feed program using two methods, namely blind feeding and feeding rate. During maintenance, biomass was obtained 1.1 09 kg, ABW 4.35, ADG 0.16 gr, SR 85 %, and FCR 1.7. The results of the business analysis calculation show that shrimp farming activities in Feed Management Techniques on Intensive Enlargement of Vaname Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) at West Java is a worthy effort because it obtains a profit value of Rp. 2,244,866,177 from BEP production of 51,864 kg and BEP at a price of Rp. 42,542 and Pay Back Period (PP) obtained 3. period to return capital.

Abstract

This study examines the downstreaming strategies of capture fisheries products and their contribution to sustainable coastal economic development in Bone Regency, central Indonesia. Downstreaming is recognized as a critical approach to increasing value addition, diversifying income sources, and strengthening coastal communities’ welfare. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 20 informants comprising fishermen, fish processing MSMEs, cooperatives, and local government officials. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and policy documents review, and analyzed thematically using Miles and Huberman’s framework. The findings reveal six key aspects of downstreaming. First, post-harvest processing practices such as salted fish, fish flakes, crackers, and seaweed-based nuggets have significantly enhanced product value and reduced waste. Second, cooperatives and village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) act as aggregators and provide inclusive access to capital and markets. Third, infrastructure limitations, regulatory barriers, and low business literacy constrain market expansion. Fourth, downstreaming generates new opportunities for women and youth to engage in value chain and digital promotion. Fifth, multi-stakeholder synergy collaboration remains partial but has potential for formal institutionalization. Overall, the study underscores the need for integrated policies, institutional strengthening, and sustainable assistance to achieve inclusive, competitive, and environmentally friendly downstreaming of capture fisheries.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles on local industrial transformation in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, focusing on business competitiveness and sustainability. The study addresses a critical research gap by examining ESG in small-scale rural industries, a context underexplored compared to studies on large corporations. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used to understand the dynamics of change in small-scale fisheries and agriculture-based industries. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and policy document reviews, involving 18 informants from business actors, government officials, community facilitators, and local academics. The study identified six key themes: improved operational efficiency and market access; changes in perceptions and the image of the local industry; infrastructure and technological limitations; low literacy and human resource capacity; multi-stakeholder collaboration strategies; and social innovation and product diversification. Findings indicate that ESG adoption drives production efficiency, expands market opportunities, enhances community pride, and fosters locally-based innovation. However, limited facilities, sustainability literacy gaps, and coordination among actors remain significant obstacles. These findings provide both theoretical contributions—by contextualizing ESG in rural community industries—and practical implications for policymakers seeking to design adaptive, inclusive, and collaborative sustainability frameworks. The study concludes that a bottom-up, community-driven approach, reinforced by supportive policies and cross-sectoral collaboration, is essential for ensuring the long-term sustainability of local industries in Indonesia’s rural regions.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex social problem and is still a challenge in various regions, including in Palakka District, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. One of the efforts made to overcome this problem is through a village community empowerment program. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of community empowerment programs in poverty alleviation and identify more optimal strategies to improve community welfare. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study in Palakka District. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The results of the study indicate that the village community empowerment program has a positive impact on improving community welfare, especially through increasing individual capacity, access to entrepreneurship training, and increasing community income through productive businesses. However, the effectiveness of the program still faces several challenges, such as limited supporting infrastructure, limited market access, and lack of sustainable funding. This study confirms that active community participation, government support, and synergy with the private sector and non-governmental organizations are key factors in the success of community empowerment programs. Improvements are needed in policies and program implementation to be more oriented to local needs and ensure the sustainability of the program in the long term. With a more integrated and strategic approach, it is hoped that the village community empowerment program can be an effective solution in eradicating poverty sustainably in Palakka District, Bone Regency.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of aristocratic traditions on leadership and public service bureaucratic practices in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, and examines the forms of cultural resistance that hinder the implementation of the New Public Service (NPS) ethos. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically using a Weberian theoretical framework and the NPS paradigm. The results show that aristocratic traditions are not merely a cultural identity but also a source of political and administrative legitimacy that shapes paternalistic leadership styles and reinforces patron-client patterns within the bureaucracy. In public service practices, formal procedures such as SOPs and digital systems often experience decoupling from informal mechanisms that still emphasize personal closeness and status symbols. This cultural resistance creates a paradox: the bureaucracy appears institutionally modern, but its practices remain patrimonial. This study emphasizes that bureaucratic reform in regions with a noble heritage must consider the local cultural context, by reinterpreting aristocratic values as social capital to support participatory, inclusive, and egalitarian public services. These findings provide theoretical contributions to contextual public administration studies as well as practical implications for bureaucratic reform strategies in similar areas.
