Abstract

El Nino (drought) and La Nina (floods) effects of climate change will significantly reduce production and productivity in the agricultural sector, particularly in food crops. The availability and accessibility of food will be impacted by climate change, disrupting food security and vulnerability. This research aims to examine in more depth the impacts caused by climate change and ways that can be taken to mitigate the risks posed. This research was carried out using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method through FGD (Forum Group Discussion), which was carried out with representative experts, such as academics, farmers, BULOG and BMKG. The results of the research show that there are many impacts caused by climate change on food security, such as drought and floods resulting in changes in the planting season, an increase in weeds, pests and diseases in plants, and increasing temperatures will cause crop productivity to decrease, causing a decrease in crop yields. So, in facing the challenges and impacts of climate change, there needs to be significant and continuous collaboration from all aspects of dealing with climate change so that food security is achieved. Providing complete information to farmers regarding the challenges and solutions in facing climate change, research that can be carried out to reduce and mitigate climate change, the existence of adequate availability aspects to support universal food security and agricultural adaptation in facing climate change as well as climate change adaptation strategies indispensable for sustainable food security

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilakukan di Koperasi Max Yasa Purbalingga yang merupakan salah satu sentra budidaya buncis di Purbalingga dan telah melakukan penjualan baik di pasar local maupun pasar internasional. Namun, beberapa tahun terakhir perubahan iklim semakin ekstrem sehingga menyebabkan musim angin yang tidak menentu yang mengakibatkan berkurangnya produksi buncis di daerah tersebut. Maka pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui proses sosialisasi SOP dalam melakukan budidaya hingga pasca panen buncis di Koperasi Max Yasa Purbalingga. Terdapat sebanyak 15 petani mitra dan 4 pengurus koperasi Max Yasa Purbalingga berpartisipasi aktif pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Hasil kegiatan ini diperoleh bahwa terdapat beberapa SOP yang dapat diterapkan pada tanaman buncis di Koperasi Max Yasa Purbalingga diantaranya SOP dalam penyediaan benih, persiapan tanam, penanaman, pemasangan lanjaran, pengairan, penyiangan, pemupukan, pengendalian Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) ditujukan agar tanaman buncis dapat tumbuh dengan baik, panen dan pasca panen. Selama proses penerapan SOP tersebut, petani mitra dan pengurus koperasi memahami dengan baik. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui evaluasi kegiatan bahwa selama musim angin terjadi kegiatan budidaya masih berjalan dengan baik dan produksi buncis terus meningkat sehingga mampu dalam memenuhi permintaan dalam hingga luar negeri.

Abstract

Desa Pasar Melintang merupakan desa dengan mayoritas masyarakatnya memanfaatkan lahan pertanian hanya untuk padi sawah. Berdasarkan data profil desa, pada sektor pertanian masyarakat desa hanya memanfaatkan untuk menanam padi sawah saja, sedangkan untuk sektor perikanan dan hortikultura belum dilakukan. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya program yang mendukung bagi masyarakat untuk melakukan kegiatan tersebut. Akuaponik dengan menggunakan sistem Budikdamber yang membudidayakan ikan dan sayuran dalam satu tempat merupakan program solusi bagi masyarakat desa dalam memanfaatkan lahan yang minim dan menghasilkan sumber pangan dengan sistem ramah lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan dengan 3 tahap yaitu pemberian materi sosialisasi sistem budikdamber, praktik pelaksanaan sistem budikdamber, serta tahap evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa, sebanyak 62,43% peserta menguasai materi terkait dengan sistem budikdamber. Pada tahap praktik pelaksanaan budikdamber, terpilih sebanyak 10 masyarakat yang melaksanakan kegiatan budidaya ikan lele dan penanaman sayur kangkung. Pada tahap evaluasi hanya satu peserta saja yang mengalami kegagalan panen, karena cenderung kurang memperhatikan budidaya yang dilakukan, seperti pergantian air dan pemberian pakan ikan. Sedangkan untuk 9 peserta lainnya mengalami pemanenan beberapa kali untuk tanaman kangkung. Tanaman kangkung pertama kali mengalami panen saat usia tanaman berkisar 20-25 hari, sedangkan ikan lele panen di usia 3-4 bulan.

Abstract

A healthy lifestyle and the desire to avoid various diseases motivate consumers to switch to healthy foods such as porang rice. However, the limited availability of porang rice products in various cities such as Medan makes the price expensive, so most consumers still do not regularly buy porang rice, while some consumers buy it regularly. This study aims to analyze consumers' willingness to pay for porang rice in Medan City and the various factors influencing it. The study uses primary data with a snowball sampling method and sample calculation using the Lemeshow formula, resulting in 100 porang rice consumers as the sample. The data was analyzed using the contingent valuation method and logistic regression. The results of the study indicate that consumers' willingness to pay for porang rice has increased compared to the previous price, ranging from 0.79% to 8.68%. The study also revealed that variables such as occupation, ease of access, and health significantly influence consumers' willingness to pay for porang rice, while other factors such as age, education level, income, number of family members, and gender do not significantly influence consumers' willingness to purchase porang rice.

Abstract

Cassava chips are one of the popular processed cassava products with significant development potential. Langkat Regency, located in North Sumatra Province, is one of the regions with the largest agricultural potential in Indonesia, particularly in cassava production. In addition, the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSMEs) sector in this region is also growing, especially in processing agricultural products into consumable foods such as cassava chips. This study has two main objectives: to estimate the willingness to pay (WTP) for cassava chips in Langkat Regenc and to analyze the factors that influence the level of WTP for cassava chips in the region. The analysis of willingness to pay for cassava chips uses the Contingent Valution Method (CVM), and the relationship between factors influencing the WTP value is analyzed using multiple linear regression. The average WTP of respondents for cassava chips is IDR 37,920 per kilogram. This average value is higher than market price of cassava chips in Langkat Regency, which is IDR 35,000 per kilogram. The variables of gender, income, and product image have a significant influence on the willingness to pay for cassava chips.

Abstract

Cinnamon is one of Indonesia's leading spice commodities with great international trade potential. Indonesia is known as one of the world's major producers and exporters of cinnamon, with export destination countries such as the United States, France, the Netherlands, Thailand and Malaysia. However, the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports experiences different dynamics in each destination country. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports to the five destination countries using two approaches, namely the Index of Trade Specialization (ISP) and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). The data used is secondary data taken from TradeMap and UN Comtraded in the form of export and import values of Indonesian and world cinnamon from 2015-2024 and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that Indonesia's ISP value was consistently in the positive range (0-1), which indicated that Indonesia was an exporter of cinnamon even though it had the lowest index in 2021. Meanwhile, the RCA value against five export destination countries shows that Indonesian cinnamon has a comparative advantage, with the highest RCA value in France at an average of 233,73 and the lowest in Malaysia at an average of 11,62. These findings indicate that Indonesia's cinnamon competitiveness position is still strong but requires a market differentiation and diversification strategy to reduce dependence on specific countries and be able to face increasingly complex global competition.

Abstract

Rice plants are cultivated in more than 100 countries in the world, of which 90% are grown on the Asian continent in the Southeast Asia region. The land area of 152 million hectares produces around 600 million tons annually. The majority of farmers in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province work as lowland rice farmers. This research wants to analyze farming efficiency based on land area. Apart from that, this research wants to analyze the influence of land area on income and production of lowland rice farming in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma, Bengkulu. The number of samples in this study was 68 people. The research was carried out in Rimbo Kedui Village, West Seluma District, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province. Election of Rimbo Kedui Subdistrict. The population in this study were farmers in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma Barat District. Data analysis uses income and efficiency analysis, as well as using multiple linear regression data analysis. The results of efficiency calculations show that lowland rice farming with a small land area and a large land area is 1.92 and 181. So lowland rice farming with a small land area with a size of less than 0.5 Ha is more efficient than farming with a land area of more than 0.5 Ha. Based on a simple linear regression test, it shows that land area influences income and production of lowland rice farming. So the larger the land area, the greater the farmer's income and production.

Abstract

Lokasi Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) di SMK Delisha yang merupakan salah satu lokasi penghasil produk pertanian terbesar di Sumatera Utara dan sebagian besar anak-anak muda tersebut merupakan anak petani. Namun belakangan ini disinyalir bahwa anak-anak muda di tingkat sekolah tersebut tidak banyak yang termotivasi memasarkan produk pertanian melalui digital marketing. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk (1) peningkatan digitalisasi marketing pada produk pertanian pada siswa SMA Delisha di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang, dan (2) Evaluasi penguasaan digitalisasi marketing pada produk pertanian pada siswa SMA Delisha di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan pada 23-24 Mei 2023 di Yayasan Pendidikan Delisha Deliserdang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan penyuluhan dan pelatihan siswa untuk memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam memasarkan produk dengan menerapkan content marketing. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest, post test dan evaluasi kegiatan yang diberikan kepada 31 orang siswa berpartisipasi. Data kemudian diolah untuk mendapatkan nilai rata-rata, terendah dan tertinggi. Hasil kegiatan yaitu terjadinya peningkatan penguasan digital marketing, dengan dibuktikan sebelum mendapatkan pelatihan, sebanyak 45,16% siswa cukup menguasai digital marketing, setelah dilakukan pelatihan sebanyak 51,16% siswa meningkat menjadi menguasai digital marketing. Pada evaluasi penguasaan digital marketing, siswa cukup memahami pentingnya dan peluang digital dalam pemasaran produk pertanian.
