Abstract

The volume and value of Indonesian rubber exports since 2012 have tended to experience a very significant decline due to the decrease in international rubber prices. This decline in international rubber prices then impacts on declining Indonesian rubber export prices. Apart from international rubber prices, other factors are thought to have influenced the export price of natural rubber. Indonesia. The study aimed to analyze the effect of Indonesia's natural rubber export volume, international rubber prices, exchange rates and rubber export prices in the previous period on Indonesia's natural rubber export prices. The data used in this study is 28 year of annual time series data from 1992 to 2019. The results of the survey stated that simultaneously, the independent variables in this study effected on the export price of Indonesian natural rubber, while partially the factors that had a significant effect on the export price of Indonesian natural rubber were the export volume of Indonesian natural rubber, international rubber prices, exchange rates and export prices of rubber in the period before, which means that all the independent variables in this study have a significant effect.

Abstract

Soybeans are the main food commodity for Indonesian people after rice and corn. Indonesia's population growth every year shows an increase in the need for food, which results in an increase in demand for soybeans. On the other hand, Indonesia's soybean production is experiencing a decline, which has a negative impact on the industry and forces the government to import soybeans from abroad. The objectives of this study are: (1) to scrutinize in part the effects of import prices, land area, production, consumption, and exchange rates on Indonesian soybean imports, (2) The Role of Pricing in Moderating the Impact of Consumption on Indonesian Soybean Imports. analysis in this study, secondary data from BPS, the World Bank, UN Comtrade, and pertinent publications were combined with multiple linear regression. Multiple linear regression and moderation were used in the data analysis process with the software used Eviews 12. The analysis method for this research uses des.cr.iptive analysis, validity and reliability. The research results show that in Indonesia, partially the quantity of imported soybeans has a significant influence on the exchange rate variables, household consumption, import prices and consumption interactions. In the meanwhile, the variables related to production and land are.a do. not significantly affect the amount of soybeans imported into Indonesia. The study's findings demonstrate that import prices have a major impact on Indonesia's imports of soybeans.

Abstract

Indonesia's dependence on the international market causes garlic prices to tend to fluctuate. Fluctuations in garlic prices tend to follow the amount of production and available import supply. Because Indonesia is an archipelagic country, garlic prices vary in each province. The availability and demand for garlic in each province are different, as well as fluctuations and disparities in garlic prices between regions, which are driving factors for interregional trade, which indicates the integration of the garlic market in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of spatial garlic market integration in Indonesia. The types of data used are cross-section data on the amount of garlic consumption by province, gross regional domestic product by province, distance between reference and follower provinces, amount of garlic production by province, number of markets by province, length of paved roads by province in 2020 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and Google Map. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that the determinants of spatial garlic market integration at the consumer level in Indonesia are the amount of consumption of follower provinces, gross regional domestic product of reference and follower provinces, and the distance between reference and follower provinces. Based on the results of the analysis, the suggestion from this study is that to improve the efficiency of garlic marketing in Indonesia, especially related to market integration, the government needs to pay attention to the determining factors of market integration.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest exporter of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) in the world, but global CPO prices are more influenced by demand from large countries and fluctuations in the Rotterdam market. This has an impact on the domestic price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) received by farmers, which follows the movement of CPO prices. This research aims to analyze the transmission of domestic FFB prices to CPO prices in the domestic market. The data used is secondary time series data of monthly FFB and CPO prices for 12 years (January 2010-December 2021), using the Asymmetric Error Correction Model (AECM) method. The results of the analysis show that there is asymmetric price transmission between domestic FFB prices and domestic CPO, where a decrease in CPO prices is not always followed by a decrease in FFB prices. When domestic CPO prices rise, domestic FFB prices take longer to follow the increase, whereas when CPO prices fall, FFB price adjustments occur more quickly.

Abstract

North Sumatra Province is the ninth largest province in Indonesia. Therefore, the development of this very large area requires appropriate development program steps. One method that can be used in planning the economic development of a region is to determine the leading sectors in the region that are further developed without ignoring other sectors. The purpose of this study is to determine the leading sectors in the North Sumatra economy that can be used as a basis for designing economic development strategies in North Sumatra Province. This analysis is based on secondary data (time series), including North Sumatra's GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) and Indonesia's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in the period 2020-2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with LQ (Location Quotient), DLQ (Dynamic Location Quotient), and Klassen Typology Analysis. The results of the study show that the sectors that grew rapidly in North Sumatra during the period 2020-2023 include the water supply, waste management, waste, and recycling sectors; wholesale and retail trade sectors; motor vehicle and motorcycle repair sectors; and the real estate sector. Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors; construction sectors; and the transportation and warehousing sectors are not leading sectors that are growing rapidly, but remain important foundation sectors for the North Sumatra economy. In order for these sectors to become leading sectors, government policy intervention is needed to increase their growth.
