Abstract

The main vision of education, especially in learning natural sciences must be able to develop student creative thinking skills. Creative thinking has a position that is as important as understanding concepts, so this encourages researchers to look for learning processes and learning environments that are able to encourage students to creative thinking. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect Project Based Learning through a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education approach on creative thinking skills. This research was a case study of quasi-experimental with a nonrandomized control-group pretest-posttest design. Research samples were 109 Indonesian junior high school student, which comprises one experiment class group and one control class group determined by a cluster random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was in the form of creative thinking skills essay questions. The research data were analyzed using Quade's Rank Analysis of Covariance because the research data did not meet the normality test requirements. The results of the study show that class using STEM-PjBL learning are significantly better at creative thinking skills when compared to class using Problem-Based Learning model. This research contributes to providing innovative alternative learning information in order to empower junior high school students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the types of error and the causes of student error in solve math story questions on the subject matter of systems of linear inequalities based on Newman's Error Analysis (NEA). The linear inequalities system material was chosen for this study because the linear inequalities system has components that students must understand so they can easily determine the error made by student. This study is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were taken using a purposive sampling technique and obtained 10 students in the 5th semester of math education study program, Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang. This research was divided into three stage, namely the preparation of research instrument, implementation and colection of data study and data analysis. The instrument used in this research is a description of 3 questions. Based on data analysis, the factor that led to student error in solve math story question on the subject matter of the system of linear inequalities based on NEA were inaccurate, unable to read questions, unable to understand the question, and unable to carry out procedure or steps that would used to problem solving. This study contributes to providing information on errors that are commonly made by student in solve math story questions on the subject matter system linear inequalities based on NEA.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a philosophical review of the role of Pancasila in facing the future of science education based on Artificial Intelligence technology. Given the application of Artificial Intelligence in science education continues to increase so that this can affect new opportunities in supporting the development of science education, learning innovation and present significant challenges. The type of research conducted is qualitative through library research. The results showed that the role of Pancasila ideology towards the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can act as an important ethical framework in facing the future of science education. The role of Pancasila as an ethical framework in the use of Artificial Intelligence in science education is to create the use of Artificial Intelligence technology that is more humane, fair, and has a positive impact on the world in general. Other results are detailed in this paper which include the potential and challenges that may arise in integrating the values of Pancasila as an ethical framework in the use of Artificial Intelligence in various fields, especially science education. Based on the findings of this research, it contributes to the view that the role of Pancasila in science education based on Artificial Intelligence technology needs to be understood through a philosophical perspective to ensure its relevance in the future.
