Abstract

Aims: The increasing prevalence of stunting and its associated morbidities highlight the need for effective prevention measures. Digital-based family empowerment interventions have been identified as a promising approach to prevent stunting. This study aims to investigate various types of digital-based family empowerment interventions in preventing stunting and optimizing child growth. Method: It is a thematic literature review using a semi-structured search approach with predefined keywords in four major databases, namely Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. The research applies a systematic research method with PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines and sets search boundaries using the PICO (Population/Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) approach. Three search criteria include digital-based family empowerment interventions for stunting prevention, articles published within the last five years, and written in English or Indonesian. Result: From the search, nine articles were selected, forming three main themes: (1) digital-based child growth and development monitoring programs in preventing stunting; (2) digital-based health education programs for stunting prevention; and (3) digital-based nutrition counseling programs in preventing stunting. Conclusion: Digital-based family empowerment interventions have proven to be effective in stunting prevention efforts. With a better understanding of these interventions, it is hoped that knowledge and skills in preventing stunting and optimizing child growth can be enhanced. The role of nurses can be pivotal in integrating technology into family education.

Abstract

Aims: The slowness in the elderly activities is caused by a decrease in function of the musculoskeletal system, characterized by a decrease or increase in fat free mass which can cause a decrease in muscle mass, resulting in motor disorders. It is believed that providing range of motion exercises such as mirror therapy can stimulate the nerves in the motor cortex, thus providing signals to the brain to stimulate movement. Objective: This research is to identify the effect of mirror therapy on motor impairment in the elderly. Method: This type of research used quasi-experiment with two group pretest-posttest design approach and analysis method used Generalized Linear Model (GLM). The sample was 84 respondents, consisting of 42 intervention group samples and 42 control group samples. Sampling techniques were generally used as samples according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The intervention was given for 4 weeks and assessed every week. Results: There was an effect of mirror therapy intervention on improving motor impairment in the elderly (p-value = 0.000). Conclusion: mirror therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to improve motor impairment in the elderly.

Abstract

Aims: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a critical global health issue, characterized by significant morbidity and mortality rates. Recent research highlights the potential of social support interventions to enhance TB treatment outcomes and improve patient quality of life. This study examines the positive effects of social support interventions on TB patients throughout their treatment process. Method: Utilizing a traditional review approach, this study applies thematic analysis to synthesize findings from the literature. The review encompasses 17 articles selected from reputable databases, including PubMed, Wiley Online Library, ProQuest, and Google Scholar, based on predefined inclusion criteria. These articles underwent quality assessment using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) tool. The PRISMA flowchart provided transparency in the selection process. Results: Key themes identified through the analysis include treatment adherence, psychological well-being, motivation to recover, health-related quality of life, prevention of TB transmission, successful TB treatment, and self-efficacy to recover. Conclusion: The findings suggest that social support interventions can play a crucial role in addressing the persistent challenges of TB management globally.
