Abstract

Infectious diseases still often occur in developing countries, one of which is infection caused by parasites in the form of worms. Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) are intestinal nematodes which in their life cycle require soil for the maturation process so that there is a change from a non-infective stage to an infective stage. The prevalence of worms in Indonesia is still quite high, between 60-80%, especially in children under five because at that age they move more and interact directly with the environment. This research aims to determine the presence of Ascaris Lumbricoides worm eggs in the feces of toddlers in the Ponre Community Health Center Working Area. The type and design of the research used is observational with a cross sectional design. Stool examinations will start from June to November 2023 on 20 stool samples. Sample analysis was carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory DIII Health Analyst Stikes PHB. Microscopic results of Soil Transmitted Helminths (+) worm eggs from 12 people. The frequency of Soil Transmitted Helminths infections is based on the type of worm eggs with details of Ascaris lumbricoides 12 people.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kecacinganl merupakanl salahl satul penyakitl berbasisl lingkunganl yang lmenjadil masalahl bagil kesehatanl masyarakatl. Salahl satul faktorl yangl mempengaruhi linfeksil kecacinganl inil ialahl memilikil Personall hygienel yangl burukl. Kecacinganl ini ldisebabkanl olehl sejumlahl cacing lususl yangl ditularkanl melaluil tanahl yangl disebut lSoil Transmitted Helminths (STH). Contohnya, yaitul cacingl gelangl (Ascaris lumbricoides), cacingl cambukl (Trichuris trichiura), cacingl tambangl (Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale), danl cacing benang (Strongyloides stercoralis). Tujuan: analisis gambaran antara personal   hygiene dan kecacingan pada pengrajin batu merah di Desa Bukit Tinggi Kecamatan Gantarang Kabupaten Bulukumba. Metode: penelitian dilakukan secara observasi laboratories dengan menggunakanl teknikl purposivel sampling. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode sedimentasi terhadap telur cacing dengan larutan KOH 10 %. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah para pekerja pengrajin batu merah baik pria maupun wanita sebanyak 20 sampel. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari 20 sampel bahwa yang memiliki Personal hygiene yang baik sebanyak 15 orang (75 %) sedangkan cukup baik sebanyak 5 orang (25 %) dan dari pemeriksaan kotoran kuku tangan dan kaki tidak ditemukan positif terinfeksi telur cacing 0 % (negatif). Kesimpulan: gambaran Personal hygiene dan kecacingan pada pengrajin batu merah di Desa Bukit Tinggi Kecamatan Gantarang Kabupaten Bulukumba sudah baik.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas NaCl terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratory, menggunakan desain true eksperiment laboratory. NaCl diperoleh menggunakan pencampuran aquades yang kemudian divariasikan dalam beberapa konsentrasi 5%, 20%, 35%, dan 50% serta kontrol positif klindamisin dan kontrol negatif aquades. Dilanjutkan dengan metode difusi sumuran untuk menguji daya hambat, lalu hasil yang didapatkan diolah menggunakan uji SPSS menggunakan One Way Anova. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah uji daya hambat NaCl terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dengan konsentrasi 35%, dapat menghambat dengan rata-rata sebesar (16,1 mm) dengan kategori kuat, pada konsentrasi 50% dapat menghambat dengan rata-rata sebesar (20,1 mm) dengan kategori kuat, pada konsentrasi 5% dan 20% tidak dapat menghambat dengan rata-rata (0 mm). Sedangkan kontrol positif (klindamisin) dapat menghambat dengan rata-rata sebesar (27 mm) dengan kategori kuat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa NaCl dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat di simpulkan bahwa NaCl dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes yang memiliki daya hambat antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan Propionibacterium acnes yang di tunjukkan dengan terbentuknya zona hambat 16,1 mm dengan konsentrasi 35%, dan 20,1 mm dengan konsentrasi 50%, efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri.

Abstract

Every durian season, there is an abundance of durian seed waste in Anrang village, Bulukumba district, South Sulawesi. This gives the impression of a village environment piled high with garbage in the form of durian seeds and skins. The goal of this community service project is to assist the Anrang village community, through the Anrang Youth Organization, in converting waste durian seeds into flour, which will be used to make biscuits. Using the project-based learning method, this activity provides counseling, training, and direct assistance to members of Karang Taruna Anrang. The activity produced very satisfactory results, with a product in the form of durian seed flour that provided a suitable taste and structure as a biscuit ingredient. Durian seed flour has a pleasant taste, structure, and aroma, making it an excellent potential ingredient for biscuits.

Abstract

Beckground Soil Transmitted Helminths infection is a type of parasite that causes worm infections, which are found in the human intestine and can be transmitted through the soil. Eosin 2% is a substance used to color worm eggs. Hibiscus flower (Hibiscus rosa-sinesis L) is one of the plants that can be used as an alternative dye for examination of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) worm eggs because it contains anthocyanin. Destination The purpose of this study was to find out that hibiscus flower extract (Hibiscus rosa-sinesis L) can be used as an alternative stain for microscopic examination of Soil Transmitted Helminths worm eggs. This research is a descriptive study by examining worm eggs using the direct method which was carried out by dyeing hibiscus flower extract with distilled water as a solvent and 2% eosin as a control. Results Hibiscus flower juice with a concentration of 1:1 is good for use as an alternative to 2% eosin in the examination of soil transmitted helminths eggs.
